So, Tuesday?
This sounds about right.
Beat me to the punch, this game predicted the future

🤣🤣🤣🤣 I thought the same thing
I've been waiting for years for you to talk about Future cop.A childhood favourite of mine.
mee too bro love this game
Right there with you dude. 🙌🏻
Had it on PC rather than playstation but I played the shit out of it. Really enjoyed fighting the AI. sky captin? or something like that.
But the story was awesome too. Can still remember some amazing cutsceens lol
I'm amazed it didn't come up sooner. The multiplayer was kick-ass too!
Me too, now I can retire in peace.
You totally forgot to mention, that Future Cop LAPD has a kickass multiplayer, very much like a prehistoric League of Legends.
Your base constantly spawns units, in order to destroy the enemies base! It is awesome and was very much ahead its time!
YES! My cousin and i spent summers just playing it back and fourth
Yes! Finally someone remembers! Unbelievably addictive
Now that you've mentioned... Future Cop's multiplayer _does_ seem like a MOBA in terms of mechanics; spawn of minions, capture of towers/areas, destroying the enemy base.
very kickass multiplayer indeed
Not enough people talk about Future Cop: LAPD
I want more games when we play as tactical Police crushing dissidents
That game was pretty mainstream, at least around central Europe. With articles in Playstation Magazines (it got 8/10 iirc), demo etc. So I'm surprised it is considered a hidden gem. It is in US I guess.
@@Unexpecter True! It was pretty popular in Europe! Remember getting it with one of those 10in1 PC game collections and playing it non stop.
I remember renting it at blockbuster a few times. My brother and I had a lot of fun with the game. Finally got it on the ps store recently.
Played this game on a PC and it was a blast! Literarily. Still have it somwhere on my gaming shelf. I think I'm gonna play it again after all those years.
You just dug out a memory from the depth of my brain, I remember playing Tunnel B1 on a demo CD from a gaming magazine back in the 90s and I really liked it back then.
I missed your hidden gems videos, thank you.
More to come!
@@MetalJesusRocks you're the jesus of video games and music lol and also I'm a big fan🎮🎮🎮🎮🎮🎮🎮🎮😎😎😎😎😎😎🕹🕹🕹🕹🕹
Back in 1997/1998 when i was only 12-13 years old i spent so many hours at my friend's place using his dad's extremely expensive Macintosh home office setup to play Future Cop: LAPD, Diablo and Myth: The Fallen Lords while listening to The Offspring, Fatboy Slim & Propellerheads.
I loved every minute of it.

This Bugs Bunny is the sequel to another hidden gem Bugs Bunny: Lost in Time
, I recognized the engine and the moves of the character.
So much fun that game! I had really good times with it
Time busters (the sequel) is almost better in every aspect, you should check it out too!
The Grinch game also uses the same engine, sadly the game is a bit hit and miss.
'Lost in Time' is fantastic, you're correct 'Time Busters' is the sequel. 👍
Luke_Denny sorry I meant time busters.
Lost in time has less precise controls and I think it has less variability.
That’s why I said the sequel is better in almost every aspect.
@@Fede4Cod Hmm, this make me curious. I'll check it out. Tks
Future Cop: LAPD shows the future of the west coast nice how good this game predicted the future
Yes! Just when I was done watching your backlog of hidden gem vids, you post a new one. Perfect!
Never heard about Night Raid, but after a second of seeing it, I knew I had to try it out!
You can never get enough of shoot em ups!
I'm glad to see more import coverage, it's been too long!
It's a shame that you mentioned 'Bugs and Taz: Time Busters' without also mentioning the entire game can be played in co-op, it's one of it's best features!
It's kinda the point of the game, funny it wasn't even mentioned lol
Dude... Future Cop LAPD is so good! Glad to see it get some love; it's one of my favorite games on the system.
omg I used to play Future Cop LAPD for days on PS1!! Such a great game!
@Leo D. Astoria, side note, Future Cop: L.A.P.D. was also technically supposed to be a part of the Strike series, namely, it was going to be called Future Strike or something like that, but a dispute between the people that were responsible for the Strike series also led to its name being changed. Also, speaking of Strike, I think that another game that is in the Strike series also made it to the PS1 as well...I think that it was called Soviet Strike.
Rising zan: samurai gunman, Raytracer, Gungage, Blasto, Nightmare creatures, Die hard, Bloody roar 2, One, C12, Firo & Klawd, COURIER CRISIS, Unholy war, , Akuji, Legend, Herc’s adventure, Bugriders, Hogs of war, Time commando, ESPN: extreme games, Croc, Chase the express, Apocalypse, Incredible crisis
I never owned a ps1 and I JUST watched your collectors guide video on it yesterday. Guess it's time to start lmao
Being somebody that grew up playing video games since 1981 when I was 3 and we got an Atari and the passion began, I really enjoy the PS1 era because it was very similar to when PC gaming gained ground and developers basically said "let's just see what we can do"... And don't get me wrong all of it was wrapped in incredible storytelling and interesting perspectives but there was so much avant-garde approaches to video games on the PS1.
exactly, it really shaped the ps1 into the experimental platform it's remembered as today. games were getting more popular and the industry was changing at light speed.
Don’t know if it’s a hidden gem, but Apocalypse was pretty dang cool! Bruce Willis was surprisingly good in that game.
I'd love to watch a live-stream of you (and maybe Reggie) playing some of your gems. Honestly, you're really entertaining. It's great to see someone so experienced in the retro, having a great time showing us the best of the best.
I appreciate that!

@@MetalJesusRocks And politically for you who is the hidden gem ? TRUMP, BIDEN or NONE OF THEM ?
DUUUDEE i really enjoy watching your videos, even if i dont own a ps1 i'm happy to learn more and more about the games!
I appreciate that!
@@MetalJesusRocks Hi, Metal Jesus! I love your vids, but I've got one question: are you using your PS1 Digital modded PlayStation to capture these vids? It looks great and it's definitely a game changer in so many ways. I've modded my phat PS2, fixed lens, got HDD, but I'm waiting for that PS2 HDMI Digital mod. It's shame we still have to wait for it. But that PS1 Digital looks awesome, you lucky devil. 😅
Tunnel B1 was one of the games I got with my PS1. For 12yo me it was hard as nails, but it was fast and the audio was great. I also got Tekken 2, Alien Trilogy and Wipeout 2097. Give my right arm to live through my first few years with the machine - so many great titles; original titles.
Yeah.. TUNNEL B1 definitely surprised me back in the day. That game really is no joke when you start advancing into the later stages. An absolute must own hidden gem.
Hey Jesus! You inspired me to make my channel. Thank you!!
When I was living in Brazil for a number of years, they have a good beer named "Brahma", so I'd totally be down for joining the "Brahma Force"!
yeah, dude. I'm from Brazil and when I heard the name of the game I remembered of the beer too. lol
let's joining the "Brahma Force"
@@Lino84 Huahuahuahua!!! Beer and explosions! Perfect!!!
It’s amazing how consistent you are with getting these videos out! I’m uploading one video a week and it’s serious work!
I try 😎
This is another solid video! I grew up as a PlayStation kid. I’ll have to give some of these a try!
@@NeanderMeander Your videos are amazing! I watched the video you uploaded today. It's very well done! People aren't making videos the way you do. It's good to see something new!
Playstation Junkie It absolutely is the key! But that too is a ton of work.
Me too, I was thinking the same thing! And I only have one intro, but MJR regularly changes up the clips used! When does he have time to play, get groceries, live life?!?
I do appreciate it though 😁
For the first time, someone in TH-cam is giving to Bus & Taz Time Busters the attention it deserves. One of my favourites PS1 plate-formers, and a childhood favorite of mine.
YESS! I’ve been talking about t.r.a.g for so long. Such a hidden gem. Still have my copy from when I was a kid
Same here , but I own the european version Hard Edge .
You know it’s truly a hidden gem when he keeps finding more that didn’t make his initial videos
congrats on another great hidden gems video MJR! looking forward to playing koudelka on my modded ps vita as soon as i finish ys memories of celceta
Hope you enjoy it!
I was so happy when you mentioned T.R.A.G! That was one of the ps1 games I played the hell out of as a kid and still do (even planning to do a playthrough of it on my channel soon)! It has that resident evil-esque vibe but the story is pretty interesting and the characters are cool with their specific abilities! thank you so much for mentioning one of my childhood games!
And it is kinda like a cross between Die Hard and Blade Runner. Movies that I love.
@juanmartinstehle5047 yes! It really has those aesthetics too! Honestly a very underrated game, it deserves more recognition in the retro community
@@magikarpgaming6397 I totally agree with you. This game may not be a masterpiece, but it is enjoyable for the most part. Sadly the lukewarm reviews by the critics, overshadowed it and faded it into the obscurity. I have the American release and I happy to have it in my collection. Except for the name, which is dumb. While in Japan and Europe is call Hard Edge, in the US the game is call T.R.A.G.
@@captaincommando2602 honestly i never take critics seriously, and in these days i don't have much of a respect for them. i like to play the games and then make my own judgement but i agree the different names are rather goofy lmao.
@@magikarpgaming6397 Me too. And... I'd like to recommend you another obscure Resident Evil style game for the PS1 that maybe you never heard of it. The game is call Vampire Hunter D and is kinda like a cross between Castlevania and Resident Evil.
I LOVE THESE HIDDEN GEM VIDEOS! I’ve discovered a lot of great games I never heard of before through this series. Keep up the good work Metal Jesus! 🤘
Thanks! Will do!
That bugs and Taz game is so good man. Same with sheep dog n wolf. Wb really had some great games in this era strangely enough.
A good Hidden Gem would be Wizardry for PlayStation Wizardry 1 2 and 3 has an English option in the menu and Wizardry 4 and 5 also has an English option in the menu
Not everything is in English like magic descriptions but there's plenty of information online to show what that is
Future Cop: LAPD 2 player Versus mode was amazing.
Hey MetalJesus, I just wanted to let you know those PS4 special edition controllers given to the dev team and customer service team, I actually reached out to the person who sent them to you and bought them myself. I’m super glad I could add them to my small collection but they are super awesome!
You bought them?! Excellent!
MetalJesusRocks yes sir haha he was hesitant at first but send a message a week or two after I initially messaged him and he agreed to sell them!
Koudelka is awesome. I remember there were two super weapons you could get. One was a giant spear with a horn on the end of it. lol badass
I definitely remember Future cop lapd...that game had such clear graphics to me at the time 😂
HECK YEAH LAPD. That game was my childhood, loved the multiplayer as it could be played solo and completely changed the style of the game. Think the bot team got a unique plane you had to fight against
We want a hidden gems of Metal Jesus videos.
I've missed these Hidden Gem videos. The old ones are classic videos of the channel and make for VERY great collector's guides. Hope he does some more soon.
Glad you like them!
I’m usually not a big puzzle platforming guy, but that “Eggs of Steel” game looks really intriguing to me. Great video MJR! 😎🤘🎮
Great choices dude. I love Koudelka.
I never knew the Bugs Bunny game had a sequel. I used to play the original, "Bugs Bunny: Lost in Time", so much.
I had the demo, playing it over and over again back in the day. Just completely forgot about it.
I loved the game too but could never beat it being so young at the time
Awesome that you mentioned Koudelka. Had a great time playing it earlier this year.
Same here!
Brahma is also a very popular beer here in Brazil :D
@Marcos Murad, beer is carbonated horse piss worldwide, as is drinkable alcohol in general.
Brahma is my fave beer but I haven’t been able to get it here in Canada for several years.
I really loved Bugs and Taz as a child and even today I think it still holds up really well.
I totally agree is a hidden gem! Nice catch MJ
Boom!! MJR back with another Hidden Gems episode...
And you thought their were none left 😉🤘
Love having the list in the description, respects the viewer's time. Could you please add the timing to the entries so it is possible to skip to each chapter?
LT: Sheep Raider is a great hidden gem title MJR.
Night Raid was made by Takumi which also made the Giga Wings serie and Mars Matrix. The company Toaplan was the king of shooters in the arcade back in the 80s and early 90s but they split into 4 differents companies back in 1994. Cave, Takumi, Raizing and Gazelle... and in my opinion they all made excellent shooters.
I remember going to my cousin's house when I was a kid and playing a PS1 game which is a rail shooter, and it's set in a futuristic environment and I think you're a cop in that game as you fire a pistol as you can see the revolver and you have to reload it when it's empty just like Virtua cop. I think you shoot at mechs but I'm not sure. God I'm dying to know what game that is!
Project horned owl?
Metal Jesus actually mentioned Apocalypse with Bruce Willis! :o Glad it’s getting some love! I still have Future Cop on my ps3. That’s one nostalgic video!
Please do more videos about the PS3...more hidden gems possibly?
The game with the mech looks cool ^^ also the bugs bunny game looks fun :3 Nice video MetalJesus UwU
I loved Eggs of Steel back in the day
LAPD also has a great co-op mode, really fun to go through the campaign with a buddy.
Finally! someone's talkin about T.R.A.G., aside from Resident Evil this game is pretty cool! never been able to finnish it though, cuz I couldn't find the combinations to a locked door that needed to be opened before you can progress through to the story. Again, still a pretty good game!
I still got the game , back in the days I have even send a walkthrough to a magazine ... but it was never printed , lol
@@paluxyl.8682 Really!? that's awesome dude! you're probably pretty good at this game to be able create a walkthrough, I on the other hand haven't beaten it. I still got my original PS1 console but the game CD has since been lost so I won't be able to replay it. Nowadays I'm thinking of emulation.

Did you know if you type in "Best PS1 games" into google, ONE is like the third game that pops up.
metal Jesus ate all his games
Um what? Dude that game is known big time and it's completely up there with expensive as shit games now.
@@davida7229 Expensive doesn't equal well known. How many people heard of Valkyrie Profile for PSX? Good game, costly, not widely known.
@@Aragorn7884 I've seen it get mentioned in other ppls ps1 hidden gem videos so i figured a good amount of people already knew about the game lol
Here something you maybe want add Tiny Tank it's 3D action platformer similar to Blaster Master PS1 but not quite complex and it's quite fun to play, there also Team Buddies which 3D strategy action shooter game, and Omega Boost for mech rail shooter fans.
Love your content bruh!!
Glad you enjoy it!
I don't know if you covered them already but my all time Favorit Games on the PS1 are "Hearts of Darkness" a game where you blay a boy trying to rescue his dog from Monsters and "Shadow of Darkness" where you play a cool Ninja fighting in Medival Japan. ^^
Hey metal jesus, when will you cover alundra in one of these hidden gems videos?
@@patrickwooton966 you could say it is as a copy of it is worth as much as a new game complete in box, and you can very well call alundra 2 a hidden gem as not a lot of people may have known about it. I never seen anyone on the internet talk about either game
Idk what it is so...
You probably wont see this buuuuut, Ive been watching your channel since the early days and always look forward to your videos. Many of the games you speak about (especially on the PS1) I have either played or owned in my younger days. Ive decided to use this knowledge and passion to make my own hidden gem series too as there are LOTS of games buried down in my memory that need to come to the surface. Metal Jesus YOU ROCK!
Ps1 best console ever. My childhood there and with the best games.
They are of extreme quality. My old PS1 still reads discs that look like a pancake. The CD-boxes are an eternal disaster, though...
I must seem to get Bugs Bunny & Taz. Think I could dig that for some time...
@@manuell3505 my ps1 stopped working gonna fix it soon.
@@HelvecioGomes Check the power supply. I had one which somehow lost voltage over years.
The PS2 was better, and its library was also larger.
@@paxhumana2015 ps2 is also great but imo most of its library is amazing because it's a perfect continuation of ps1 legacy. Examples: silent hill 2,3,4, resident evil games, metal gear games, etc. It was like ps21 but better but since I got it too late it didn't had the same impact for me. But I have a ps2 and still play it the most. It has lots of masterpieces.
TRAG is a very very good game. I'm super excited to see it mentioned in your video and recommend it to anyone who likes classic RE games :)
"Wild 9" is a total hidden gem. Not sure if you covered it yet. Also "Rogue Trip" and "Vigalante 8".
Rogue trip was amazing back then!!
Prolly beat that game 20 times lol
Wild 9 totally is. Still one of the best PS1 games to this day.
I loved the 2 player mode in Future Cop LAPD, even against the bot the RTS like skirmishes were very enjoyable.
Remember, you can play all of these with an emulator. You can also play all PS2 and PS3 games with an emulator. Just finished playing Demon's Souls at 4K 60fps on RPCS3. Fuckin wild man.
Always remember people collect physical copies / consoles to relieve the memories one last time
Jonathan. • I collect too, but emulation is going to be important one day for game preservation as disc rot sets in. Long term, the cartridge games are going to outlast the CD games, very sad.
Future cop LAPD is ace. I could never get passed the first level haha
Koudelka looks cool. Been looking for unknown ps1 horror games and that stratched my itch thank you!
You forgot to mention how great future cop's multiplayer mode is. Anyone else think Sky Captain suffers from schizophrenia ?
Man, nostalgia OVERLOAD!! Awesome video, keep em’ comin 😎👍
Lost in Time seems like a neat surprise; historically, Looney Tunes has not been treated very well when it comes to licensed games. Brahma is also the Hindu god of creation; thought you might not know that since this isn't the MetalVisnuRocks channel.
Hey MetalJesus you forgot to mention how great it is to play Bugs Bunny and Taz in co op. My brother and I had a lot of fun, great game!
I want to suggest Alundra 2. It's more like a nostalgic game for me, so I thought that could be a hidden gem.
I think it's not so much a hidden gem but more of a stupidly expensive gem. Fantastic game though.
@@TheTallGamingMan Alundra 2 isn't the expensive one (around $20-$30). It's the original that pulls the price tag (easily over $100 in complete and even moderately good condition)
Trying to remember if that's the game I continuously died and was extremely difficult for me so I never got back into it hmmm
Compared to the first Alundra its garbage, compared to the other ps1 library of games its above average. The game van be very frustrating. I think it was the last dungeon that made me rage quit that game.
Alundra>Alundra 2
A cool thing about Kodelka, every in-engine cutscene is fully mocapped, and completely to scale with the environment. If they're sitting around a table, the actors will really be sitting around a table.
Imagine playing these on the PS5.
👾
Why?
your capture image quality is excellent! future lapd had multiplayer on pc, loved it!
Hey, @metaljesusrocks, it would be really COOL if you rename every hiddem gems in numerical order so we can watch and find them more easily through youtube search!
Good idea!
@@MetalJesusRocks , you know, the one thing that T.R.A.G. (Tactical Rescue Assault Group)/Hard Edge has going for it is that you can actually tell if enemies have life gauges, which means that you also know when an enemy is going to die instead of guessing when they will die, unlike the other survival type games. Also, unlike things like Silent Hill, Resident Evil/Biohazard, or Dino Crisis, this is a rare game in which you do not take down post-apocalyptic godless abominations, but, rather, you take down actual humans, albeit evil ones.
I had Tunnel B-1 growing up, and I thought it was really hard, so I didn't play too much of it.. I'm probably going to come back and play it again soon. One game that I consider a "hidden gem" was Bugs Life. I used to play that game all of the time
I know you're real knowledgeable when it comes to games PS1 games so I'm just curious whats your opinion when it comes to syphon filter 3 the recalled 911 edition for the PS1 without a hole punched in the UPC code! It's probably in mint condition either a 9.6 or a 9.8 definitely with an A seal going to have this thing graded soon.. but I'm thinking it might possibly be the rarest PlayStation one game in the world.. I don't know what do you think?
@ when you respect somebody's opinion and you are asking a question about something related to what they do and what they collect it's fine to ask somebody to speculate about it's value or to just talk about the item doesn't mean the person has to answer... Besides I said I was having it sent out just wanted to get the opinion of somebody I respect....I enjoy the content this channel puts out.
Hi, i'm very curious about this; didn't knew there was a special edition of SF3 would you mind explain it more thoroughly ?
@ Clearly trolling, busty ass woman yet subscriptions and uploads indicate middle aged white male, probably Trump voter.
@@nanoua27 there's a version of siphon filter 3 with completely different cover art and different descriptions on the back... The game was shipped to to some stores before 9/11 but because of the cover art the games were not to go out for sale instead they were recalled shipped back and the cover art was replaced and some of the text on the back was changed... Some people had promotional copies that they kept with a hole punched in the UPC code not ever meant for resale but as far as I can see the vast majority if not almost all of the retail copies without a hole punch in the UPC where replaced... The game is extremely valuable and rare with the hole punch but I've ever only seen one copy online without the punch and it was in rough condition... Not mint condition and not factory sealed... Some PlayStation collectors consider this the holy Grail of PlayStation 1....
@ that's your opinion.so good to know....I just want to talk with somebody that is interested in games about something that I think they would find interesting...
Anyone else of the opinion that the biggest casualty of the quarantine so far has been no more videogame pickups videos w/ Reggie????
The PS1 had few good games but playing CD music back then was amazing !!
Me last week (for the third time): well that’s DEFINITIVELY every PS1 game I think I’ll ever need. EVER.
Metal Jesus: hold my DualShock
the ps1 and n64 have more hidden gems than one can count.
P4NTH4R the N64 only had less than 300 games published for it... PS1 had 1300.
Man future cop on pc was sooo good MJR it even came in a big box with a comic box included. All the hidden weapons and gear made this game soo good
It’s getting to the point where you’re just gonna mention the entire library as a hidden gem 😂
Well to be fair the PS1 had a ton of games so MetalJesus could make tons of videos about lesser known games from the library. You wouldn't be able to do that with the N64 or Dreamcast
7,000 PS1 games were released. I've talked about 40 of them over the years...so... probably not 😂
MetalJesusRocks Wow 7,000! Didn’t realise. I’ll look forward to a ton more of these then 👍🏻. Love the channel!
