The scene of Heath singing is why 90s girl love him before guys on dark knight. We saw him first! hahaha. Guys, put this on your 90s romcoms: Never Been Kissed. Thanks for being an awesome channel.
Fun fact: Julia's dance on the table is what got her cast in Save The Last Dance as the director realized she had natural talent. Another fantastic JGL movie to check out is 500 Days of Summer.
which...as someone that loves Julia Stiles but is a dancer: she doesn't have that much dance talent. Save the last dance is notorious for the horrible dance sequences where they cut her double and her incredibly stiff dancing together.
Heath Ledger was one of the best actors of his generation. His performances in this movie, "The Dark Knight", and "Brokeback Mountain" combine to make a masterclass in acting. I realize it may not be a film you would necessarily choose to react to, but "Brokeback Mountain" is definitely worth your time just to see his performance. It's a long, slow, sad story, but beautiful and unforgettable.
@BaddMedicine I think you guys would enjoy Heath in "A Knight's Tale"!!! Also Brokeback if you feel like being depressed forever and watching a piece of LGBT history. I personally can't watch that one anymore because I get too sad 😞
The building in the movie used for a high school "that looks like Hogwarts" is in fact a REAL HIGH SCHOOL in Tacoma WA. its Stadium high school. I am from the area and it's a pride of the community. It was originally built to be a fancy hotel, but pacific railroad (who owned it at the time of building) ran out of money to finish it properly, so they stopped building it. it sat empty for a few years until the school district bought it and turned it into a high school. the rest as they say, "is history".
I'm a Tacoma native myself, graduated from Bellarmine in 85. The football field is also the actual field that was originally designed as an outdoor amphitheater. Unfortunately, it was closed for many years due to a landslide on the water side (it's a steep drop-off on that end). I believe it was repaired, but I'm not sure.
I forgot how funny this movie actually is. It has been years since I last watched it. Also, petition to see pictures of 90s Oak in his khaki suit and black shirt, say I? 😅
I agree with you. Every time I watch a movie with Heath Ledger in it, it's tinged with sadness. He was such an incredible talent and had so much more to do in life. :(
That reaction to the "keep him from licking his stitches" line was the best part of the whole video...... I loved the joke, but seeing you guys lose it made it infinitely funnier 🤣🤣
Of course one can't help but think of the Joker when Heath Ledger comes up, but first thought is always A Knight's Tale. I could watch that movie anytime, it's just so darn fun.
Agreed. I mean, I love Dark Knight and he was a phenomenal Joker, but I grew up with him doing teen films first and 10 things and Knights Tale will always take the top for me. Every role he played he was fantastic. All of his movies are worth watching.
A lot of people don't know that this is an adaptation of Taming of the Shrew (Like the way Clueless is an adaptation of Emma by Jane Austen). Great cast. Love your reactions!
I’m still waiting for someone to do Pride and Prejudice as a High School Movie. I love this movie and Clue and have long thought that the class dynamics in P&P would translate well to high school cliches.
@@timhibbard4226 There must be some. Seems like a weird oversight if there wasn't. If they can turn Hamlet into a Disney movie about Savanna animals...
Looking back, I really love all these characters. Each is flawed, manipulative to some extent, and a touch narcissistic - but these are high school kids. They aren't exactly known for stellar choices and brilliant decision making, they're kids. Cameron probably should have gotten at least some comeuppance for being the spark for all this. All over getting a girl. Then again, Cameron and Bianca are kind of the perfect for each other little scheming couple and I see that working out for them as characters.
This has been one of my favorites since it came out when I was a kid. It was also the movie that started my crush on Heath Ledger lol. Love that it's a retelling of Shakespeare and the music is awesome too. 💕
This is one of those films that you kind of assume is just a regular romcom, but the more you watch, it’s the supporting cast that truly elevate this movie. The principal, the dad, the teacher, they don’t have that much screen time, but omg, what they bring to the scene is always Chef’s Kiss perfection! Love that you guys gave this one a chance, and that it had you rollin🙌🏼😂💖
Gabrielle Union looks almost the same 25 years later. Also, I want a spinoff with the dad, the teacher and the Allison Janney's character lol. May Heath RIP.
This is my favorite 90s teen movie as a teen. As an adult, it's still a favorite. This movie introduced me to Heath Ledger, and watching it now is heartbreaking. Julia Stiles is great in this. I love her in The Bourne movies and the latest The Orphan movies. I also grew up watching Joseph Gordon-Levitt from 3rd Rock From the Sun and I'm glad he’s become a prominent actor. Also, Gabrielle Union went on to make a name for herself. I truly love this movie. The ending made me cry back then and it still makes me cry today. We need more movies like these.
Watching you lose it at the "licking his stitches" bit was so good I had to watch it twice. I also haven't seen this movie in forever, I forgot how funny it was.
Now we need that picture of Oak in a gray suit 🤣 loved your reaction, your insight on the "nice guy" thing, you are gentlemen and we need more of you out there in the world. As always, loved the comments you add at the end and I can't wait to see more next week😎
For two decades I've avoided this movie like the plague. I had to pause watching your reaction, watch the movie itself, and come back here. It was such a fun. Thanks!
I love how the Oak brought up Pride & Prejudice. This was actually a modern day take on Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew”. The screenwriters for it got the idea after the success of the movie Clueless, which was a modern take on another one of Jane Austen‘s novels “Emma“. I’m glad you guys liked it! And rest in peace, Heath Ledger. 💙💙💙
These teen rom-coms based on classic literature were really popular around this time. There was also "Shes all that" based on George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion and "Cruel Intentions" was based on Dangerous Liasons to name a couple more.
@@marianne5055 I’m really glad that you brought up Pygmalion because you made me think of something. It almost seems like these things happen in cycles. Since Pygmalion was the inspiration for My Fair Lady and Romeo and Juliet was the inspiration for West Side Story. And both of those huge hits were back in the 60s. This is kind of making me sad. It really is starting to feel like there are no more new ideas for stories/movies/entertainment. Everything is just somehow recycled from previous stories whether it’s a blatant copy or a round about adaptation. Anyway, thanks for the reply! That was very cool of you! 💙💙💙
I loved that y’all loved this movie! The one thing I have to say about the car scene is that he was upset not that she wasn’t reciprocating his feelings but that she deceived him to get a what she wanted from him. She still doesn’t owe him anything but she was in the wrong for what she did and he was allowed to feel upset about it. What makes him an actual nice guy is that even though he was upset, he still helped her and drove her home.
Another great, older, iconic Heath movie is 'A Knight's Tale'. It was one of my sister and my's favorite growing up, that's how we first knew him along with this movie. He was probably both of our first celebrity loves. He was such a talent and so versatile and I think you guys would have so much fun and really like that movie, it's very staple Heath.
I’m not sure if you guys have seen it, but if you’re feeling more Heath Ledger, you should DEFINITELY check out “A Knight’s Tale” (it’s another one with a Hollywood who’s who for casting)
Remember when this came out right when I was about to enter high school. Was kind of a relief to have a movie with normal characters who all had quirks. Was kind of a relief. As a teen who had a hard time even pretending to give a f about half of the stuff I was involved with every day the Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger roles were kind of a relief. Coming out of the crushing conformity of middle school...this movie felt needed at the time. Loved her honesty in the breakdown scene at the end. It's based on Shakespeare so it had that degree of timelessness...but is also the most late 90's thing imaginable. Good stuff.
I'm so glad you picked up on the Nice Guy thing at the end. I love this film so much - I watched it all the time as a teen and still think it's such a brilliant teen comedy. But, yeah, the one thing we can recognise now is that JGL's Nice Guy rant in the car doesn't age well. I saw you making a note during that scene and wondered if you were going to address it and I'm so glad you did. Really enjoying your channel, guys. I love hearing your opinions and the discussions you have at the end. And I'm really liking the fact that you're watching movies you wouldn't usually have chosen to watch. Can't wait to see what's next!
This film was based on Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew and it was literally yesterday when I saw someone else do a reaction to it that I realised the surnames Stratford (where Shakespeare was born) and Verona (where a lot of his plays, including Romeo and Juliet) are set
It's Padua High School and Padua is where the play took place. Patrick is an attempt at Petruchio which was the name of the male lead in the play. If you say the title fast enough, it almost sounds like "The Taming of the Shrew."
🤣Omg, I love how much y'all loved this. I was a freshman when this came out and it was perfect at portraying all the insecurities and emotions that teenagers go through. There was an explosion of teen movies between '98 and '02ish (hence the need for Not Another Teen Movie, lol). So many great ones, but this one is my all-time favorite. The cast, the writing, everything. It honestly surprised me how much y'all laughed at the stitches joke, which made me laugh even more. I'll suggest it again, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies if you're willing to check out a crazy twist on the classic. High stakes, badass women, gore, battles, and lots of verbal *and* physical sparring 😏. I recently showed it to my friend, who was extremely skeptical, and within the first 10 minutes, she was loving it. Another great one is Warm Bodies. Great cast and writing.
The dad character is the best; I also have two daughters. This was my best friend's favorite movie back in middle school so I ended up watching it at her house *a lot*, and I know the words and inflection of every line even 20+ years later.
this was always one of my daughter's favorite movies as a teen and I swear I have the dialogue memorized from how many times she watched it. Now to watch you three just laughing and laughing over it is one of the best things ever!!! This is a fantastic reaction!!!
Knowing that this is an updated version of William Shakespeare’s comedy “Taming of the Shrew” just makes it so much more fun. It’s campy and entertaining. Heath Ledger in this movie shows the beginnings of his incredible legacy. He’s still missed. I absolutely enjoyed y’alls reactions to this! It’s really a lot of fun!
The two bands are Letters to Cleo, and Save Ferris. The lead singer of Letters to Cleo is the singing voice of Josie in the Josie & the Pussycats movie.
I love love love this movie and your guys’ reaction to it! I especially loved the take after Patrick said, “maybe we should do this another time” when she wanted to kiss him after she’d been drinking. It was 100% the Right thing to do, I love that you guys know that. While it’s bonkers to me that he had to bend over backwards to win her back over after doing the right thing, I’ll always be grateful for the “Can’T Take My Eyes Off Of You” scene 😍
Man I love you guys watching movies like this that are solid without having been A-list premier stuff that has been covered to death elsewhere. It's refreshing! EDIT: I have to add that The Oak talking about Nice Guy syndrome and the problem with its transactional nature is so spot on. And I also agree it wasn't as noted as the issue it can be back in the 90's.
I love this movie! Rewatch it all the time I was in highschool when this came out and is very accurate to highschool life 😅 plus the soundtrack brings back so many memories!
Movies like this made me excited for high school. However my own high school experience wasn’t the greatest.. but I still enjoy rewatching and reliving my childhood.
Loved seeing how much fun you guys were having and how much the Shakespeare scene sent you guys 😂 I've never seen you guys laugh so hard, it made rewatching this classic you guys so much better!!!
An extremely well made adaptation of Shakespeare who is himself one of the greatest storytellers ever. The casting is perfect. Everyone does their part so well. The comedy is great, the timing is great. It's one of the perfect 90s films. Outside of Mean Girls, this is one of the most quottable films.
That uncontrollable laughter you guys have from 25:36 is so contagious! 🤣 My stomach is aching from laughing too much LOL. Always loved watching your reactions.
this has been my favorite movie since i was in high school and seeing you guys enjoy it so much is everything 😭i could watch it over and over, it never gets old
Honestly Heath was such a legend, he played this type of idk "american heart throb" type and then he also did Joker pretty much perfectly. Everytime I see one of his movies I wonder what other movies he would made given the chance.
Heath absolutely refused to do another teen movie after this one because he didn't want to get typecast as the heartthrob. I was so disappointed 😅 Was such a fan from all the way back to his first project (Roar) and my mom and I went to see A Knight's Tale in theater five times, but he lost me when he started doing the artsy Monster Ball type stuff... but I am glad he had the kind of career he wanted.
So glad you enjoyed this - a gem amongst the usual rocky offerings of its time! Supporting cast were great, but Heath and Julia still shone! Great job!
@@ct6852 She was the star of a Nickelodeon show (The Secret World of Alex Mack) prior to this movie. She also played Joseph Gordon-Levitt's girlfriend for a couple seasons on 3rd Rock from the Sun.
i just rewatched this recently on a whim and here you guys are reading my mind! one of the very best modern-day shakespeare adaptations. and y'all howling with laughter every 30 seconds was VERY enjoyable, thank you so much! ❤
I love you guys reacting to movies I love that seem like they should be out of your genres just on stereotypes. I hope you keep popping up in my recs for movies I love in the future. As to your request - my sister and I couldn't be much more different and this was indeed a lot like our relationship. For reference, though, I graduated high school in 1996. I identified with Kat so hard 😂 And my little sister didn't have Bianca's popularity, but she was definitely the socialite. We drifted for a while in her college years, but even then she'd drop in when she was in town. Now our parents are both gone and we're close - live in the same town just to have family near. This was the only movie I loved that I ever tried to show my mom and had her put down what she was doing to give it her full attention. Fond memories.
I owned a salon right next to that high school. It’s called Stadium High School. It’s just like that. It’s amazing! Love your reactions! One of my favorite movies and I graduated in the 90’s ❤
This has been one of my favorite movies since it came out. It really does hold up for the most part (despite a few jokes that should probably be left in the 90s) The band playing in the club and at the end is Letters to Cleo! I love how invested y'all were...and seeing y'all fall apart at the masterful delivery of the "stitches" line by DK was possibly the best thing I've seen all week!
Yeah in all honesty, every time I watch this movie my heart always hurts a little seeing Heath, but he was great in this and the movie is so much fun. Strong rewatch value 😄💞
Adaption of Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew they did an amazing job. If you want to continue the trend ‘She’s the Man’ is also adapted from one of his plays & is also quite funny. Or if you haven’t seen ‘A Knight’s Tale’ Heath is just spectacular in it, as is the guy who plays Jarvis/the Vision Paul Bettony years before he became well known.
My daughter graduated from this high school. It’s called “Stadium” in Tacoma Washington. Looks out over the Luger sound. They had a plaque dedicated to Heath Ledger after his tragic death. Was fun to walk along the same areas. The parking lot. The field. The “bowl” as they called it where he sang her that song.
You guys killed this one 😂 One thing! You guys seemed worried about the paddling on the water, but it’s not the ocean, it’s probably Lake Union 😊 We paddle and go on that lake all the time!
When Batman Begins had came out on DVD, there was no word on who would play the Joker. I had rewatched this movie, big fan of it. Friends and I talked about who should play the Joker a couple of days later. I said I think Heath Ledger should play him, I got the funniest looks XD I purely based it on Heath's smile in this movie, where he sits on the seats during his performance to Kat. When he was cast, I was like wtf! My friends were shocked too. Then Heath puts in that performance!
This movie is one of my absolute favourites. I’m also a huge Heath Ledger fan so it’s pretty bitter sweet whenever I watch it. I love listening to all of Oak’s stories 💜 if it’s not already on your list, The Intern (2015) is a really good one too
Yesss, I love this movie. It's one of my favorites that I love to rewatch and just enjoy. Love Julia and this was the first time I saw Heath Ledger. Now my 15 yr old son stops and starts singing along when Heath is singing when I'm watching it, it's one of those movies he will hang out and watch with me for awhile.
This is a modern-day take on Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew (like Clueless is a modern-day take on Jane Austen's book Emma). Hence all the Shakespeare references throughout. ;)
This movie was loosely based on The Taming of the Shrew by Willy Shakes, hence all the references. Including Ledger's name, Verona, where Romeo and Juliet takes place :)
To be fair to Cameron (JGL's character), I never understood his comments in the car being the typical "I did nice things for you, so now you owe me a romantic relationship" nonsense. It was more that she lead him on and used him. He asked her out, she explained her situation, he proposed a solution (finding a guy to date Kat), and she responded all flirty, "You'd do that for me?" She was purposefully making it seem like she wanted to date him, in order to get him to do those things, when she never actually had any interest. That's what I always understood him to be complaining about. That's why when he asked if she'd always been that selfish, she didn't even protest. She recognized herself that that's what she'd been doing.
I guess The Oak prefers Shakespeare to Jane Austen! 🤣 This was a modern retelling of Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew. They kept all the original names and had several Easter eggs alongside those lines. 😉 Like when one of the guys called Julia Stiles "the shrew."
"He 1000% did the right thing, because she's been drinking." "Woah, easy! She doesn't owe you shit dude!" Love these from the Appleton Oak. Just because Kat initiated the kiss, doesn't mean it was necessarily right for him to go with it/kiss her while she was inebriated (and potentially concussed) and he wasn't. Not going for the kiss was the right move in that situation, because one's consent when drunk is dubious - one doesn't know if she actually would have made the same decision/move if sober and in the right mind, or if she would regret the kiss after sobering up. And just because Cameron likes Bianca, it doesn't mean she owes him anything in return; she didn't ask for his feelings and she is not just obligated to like him back just because he's giving her attention or is "nice" to her (and mostly to get what he wants, which is to date her, rather than just for the sake of being nice).
“A KNIGHTS TALE” ? Have you guys seen that one? Probably my favorite Heath Ledger movie. And THE BEST soundtrack. This was a great reaction, loved watching it!
This is an adaptation of Taming of the Shrew. At that time & a little later Hollywood liked to adapt famous classics into teen movies. She's the man is based on Twelfth Night by Shakespear. Clueless is based on Emma by Jane Austen. Easy A is based on The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne. Cruel Intentions is based on Dangerous Liaisons by Pierre Choderlos. etc Those are fun movies too.
@@ApesAmongUs True! 😅 I wrote the comment first & added Cruel Intensions later. But I didn't know what to change that sentence into. Still an interesting movie.
This movie gets funnier with age. I remember seeing it in theaters when it first came out and laughing throughout. This came out during the time when a lot of Shakespeare plays were being adapted as teen flicks. I remember this one and also Get Over It with Kirsten Dunst which was a teen version of A Midsummer Night's Dream. That one wasn't as funny as 10 Things but it had some good moments here and there and is definitely a time capsule of the late 90's/early 2000's high school life in so many ways. I had forgotten there were so many actors in this who went on to bigger things.
I was a year old when this movie came out. It’s one of my favorite movies. So many quotable lines and still funny every time I watch! So glad you guys enjoyed this movie!
Other Heath Ledger films to consider: A Knights Tale - listed as an adventure comedy with great music and the cast includes Paul Bettany. Lords of Dogtown - plays the manager Skip Engblom of skateboarders in Venice, CA in the 70's. The (his) crew includes Tony Alva and Stacy Perault. Casanova Four Feathers - Plays a British Officer in 1875. Patriot The Brothers Grimm - with Matt Damon. The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus - This was his last film and he had not completed some of the scenes prior to his passing. Jude Law, Johnny Depp, and Colin Farrell played various versions of Heath's character to complete the film. The trio gave their salaries from that movie to Heath's daughter. Terry Gilliam films are often considered an acquired taste, but they are usually very good and this one is no different. Worth a watch.
Always worth a watch, Heath did pick fun projects. Recommended: A Knight’s Tale is in heavy rotation here and The Imaginarium is a yearly watch. Casanova: saw it once, laughed a lot.
I love this movie but I forget just HOW much I love it until I see it pop up again. It was the first film I saw Heath Ledger in and I knew he was gonna be somebody. Followed his career from that point on and was heartbroken when he died. Such a talent and I feel like the world was robbed of his potential. I'm so saddened for his daughter because you know he would have loved the hell out of her and been an awesome dad. I wasn't sure how I was going to feel watching 3 dudes react to one of my favourite films but damn you guys were hilarious. Its great that you enjoyed it so much too and appreciated it for the 90s romcom it is. Thanks for the laughs!
They were paddle boating on Lake Union, just north of downtown Seattle, Gasworks Park was the site of the paintball, on the north end of Lake Union, which is only around a mile long and half a mile wide, fresh water.

May Heath RIP.
i rewatch this movie about once a month. Absolutely timeless
This was THAT movie for me in high school!! The one where I’m too obnoxious to watch with, bc I quote every line word for word ❤️🙌🏻🤣
me too! :)
That was actually Heath ledgers singing during that scene which is WILD
Now we need that picture of Oak in a gray suit 🤣 loved your reaction, your insight on the "nice guy" thing, you are gentlemen and we need more of you out there in the world. As always, loved the comments you add at the end and I can't wait to see more next week😎
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed! This film was such a nice surprise.
@@gippywhite And Romeo and Juliet was inspiered by the oriental tale "Layla and Machnu".
The band is Letters to Cleo. Thanks for this one guys, bringing back all the nostalgic feels!❤
And Save Ferris!
Oak calling it with crimson instead of red was perfect.
I’m not sure if you guys have seen it, but if you’re feeling more Heath Ledger, you should DEFINITELY check out “A Knight’s Tale” (it’s another one with a Hollywood who’s who for casting)
this is & forever will be my favorite teen comedy. love seeing people experience it for the first time.
Good stuff.
The band that was playing in the club was "Letters to Cleo" I LOVED them back in the day!
I’ve always liked all the Shakespeare Easter eggs in the film..
It's Padua High School and Padua is where the play took place. Patrick is an attempt at Petruchio which was the name of the male lead in the play. If you say the title fast enough, it almost sounds like "The Taming of the Shrew."
When I first fell in love with Heath Ledger. This is cemented nostalgia for me!😂❤
Rip to the legend.
This was my best friend's favorite movie back in middle school so I ended up watching it at her house *a lot*, and I know the words and inflection of every line even 20+ years
later.
this was always one of my daughter's favorite movies as a teen and I swear I have the dialogue memorized from how many times she watched it.
This movie is a lot funnier than I remember. I need to watch this again.
Wow, that joke at 25:18 really had you three in stitches, didn't it?
I'll see myself out.
This dude
Man I love you guys watching movies like this that are solid without having been A-list premier stuff that has been covered to death elsewhere. It's refreshing!
EDIT: I have to add that The Oak talking about Nice Guy syndrome and the problem with its transactional nature is so spot on. And I also agree it wasn't as noted as the issue it can be back in the 90's.
I love this movie! Rewatch it all the time
I was in highschool when this came out and is very accurate to highschool life 😅 plus the soundtrack brings back so many memories!
SUCH A CLASSIC love this movie so so much :D we all miss Heath a lot !
This movie was so formative for me. I am so glad it aged so well and I can still enjoy it as much as I did when I was young.
Y’all were cracking up. Love this movie 😂
This was a great surprise
An extremely well made adaptation of Shakespeare who is himself one of the greatest storytellers ever. The casting is perfect. Everyone does their part so well. The comedy is great, the timing is great. It's one of the perfect 90s films. Outside of Mean Girls, this is one of the most quottable films.
OK the amount of wheezy laughter in this reaction is great! lol
Oh, The Oak!!!!! I just want to give you a hug!!!!!
I still pop in this vhs from time to time !! A great movie 💙💙with the late and great heath ledger
That uncontrollable laughter you guys have from 25:36 is so contagious! 🤣 My stomach is aching from laughing too much LOL. Always loved watching your reactions.
I love this movie, but hands down the best part of this video was the roaring hysterical laughter coming from you guys the entire time.
this has been my favorite movie since i was in high school and seeing you guys enjoy it so much is everything 😭i could watch it over and over, it never gets old
Honestly Heath was such a legend, he played this type of idk "american heart throb" type and then he also did Joker pretty much perfectly.
@@perfectkismet man i love knights tale!
So glad you enjoyed this - a gem amongst the usual rocky offerings of its time! Supporting cast were great, but Heath and Julia still shone! Great job!
The younger sister looks soooo familiar. But can't remember why?
@@ct6852 She was the star of a Nickelodeon show (The Secret World of Alex Mack) prior to this movie. She also played Joseph Gordon-Levitt's girlfriend for a couple seasons on 3rd Rock from the Sun.
@@krayzy932 Yes!! Was thinking maybe it was a Disney Channel thing but you're right. Remember JGL from Halloween H20 as well.
i just rewatched this recently on a whim and here you guys are reading my mind! one of the very best modern-day shakespeare adaptations. and y'all howling with laughter every 30 seconds was VERY enjoyable, thank you so much!
It really does hold up for the most part (despite a few jokes that should probably be left in the 90s)
The band playing in the club and at the end is Letters to Cleo!
Puget. Sound. Lol.
You guys killed this one 😂 One thing! You guys seemed worried about the paddling on the water, but it’s not the ocean, it’s probably Lake Union 😊 We paddle and go on that lake all the time!
Awww you guys should definitely give “The Four Brothers” a watch highly underrated gem !
That's actually on the list
@@BaddMedicine 👏🏽👏🏽
Class of 2000. Saw this in the theater. What a classic. My daughter's now are still too young to appreciate it.
This is such a classic, glad to hear you guys laugh the whole way through!
“Lord of the dance” 🕺🏽 ha I love the party scene
This is a movie my wife and I both loved I love Larry Miller whole act was perfect for this role
I guess The Oak prefers Shakespeare to Jane Austen! 🤣
This was a modern retelling of Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew. They kept all the original names and had several Easter eggs alongside those lines. 😉 Like when one of the guys called Julia Stiles "the shrew."
"He 1000% did the right thing, because she's been drinking."
"Woah, easy! She doesn't owe you shit dude!"
Love these from the Appleton Oak.
One of my favorite movies, such a classic. Glad y’all enjoyed it😂
“A KNIGHTS TALE” ? Have you guys seen that one? Probably my favorite Heath Ledger movie. And THE BEST soundtrack. This was a great reaction, loved watching it!
This is an adaptation of Taming of the Shrew.
At that time & a little later Hollywood liked to adapt famous classics into teen movies.
She's the man is based on Twelfth Night by Shakespear.
Clueless is based on Emma by Jane Austen.
Easy A is based on The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne.
Cruel Intentions is based on Dangerous Liaisons by Pierre Choderlos.
etc
Those are fun movies too.
Calling "Cruel Intentions" fun is a stretch. It swings between "fucked up" and "brutal".
@@ApesAmongUs True! 😅
I wrote the comment first & added Cruel Intensions later. But I didn't know what to change that sentence into.
Still an interesting movie.
I was planning on watching something else and came on youtube to do that but saw this was posted and had to put it on, one of my fav movies!
Gotta be best reactions page, u guys pick absolute classics!
Other Heath Ledger films to consider:
A Knights Tale - listed as an adventure comedy with great music and the cast includes Paul Bettany.
Lords of Dogtown - plays the manager Skip Engblom of skateboarders in Venice, CA in the 70's. The (his) crew includes Tony Alva and Stacy Perault.
Casanova
Four Feathers - Plays a British Officer in 1875.
Patriot
The Brothers Grimm - with Matt Damon.
Two hands
I freaking love this movie. It is soo fun and well done and the characters have so much charisma. It is amazing.
This is my favorite movie of this genre and I’m so glad you guys watched and enjoyed it. 😊
Also, you need to watch just a few more classics and then you’re ready for Not Another Teen Movie. 😀
I’ve never seen Oak completely face down laughing 🤣🤣
This is still one of my Top 10 movies of all time if I'm honest. It's just a classic in my opinion and it still holds up today.
They were paddle boating on Lake Union, just north of downtown Seattle, Gasworks Park was the site of the paintball, on the north end of Lake Union, which is only around a mile long and half a mile wide, fresh water.
RIP Heath. You guys should check out "The Order", it is hands down one of his best movies. And if you enjoyed this movie you should definitely check out "The Perfect Score" and "Accepted".
