Janis is basically Regina with dark hair, she was the previous queen bee before Regina took over and she immediately established dominance by intentionally mispronouncing Cady's name and using her for her revenge plan. Janis is a mean girl too and not as above that stuff as she pretends to be.

Hit movie rings so true me, because I actually knew a Cady Heron IRL (I almost wish I could post a picture- she even had the red hair). First day of school she came in dressed very unflattering pantsuit, sat next to a blonde and another brunette girl who were very pretty and stylish. I pointed to my friend and said “watch that girl change to become just like the other two”…by the end of the year she was dressing, doing her makeup and talking just like them. It’s surreal how it perfectly that situation mirrored the movie.

So a problem I have had with this amazing movie since the beginning - Damian and Janis take this completely impressionable girl and recruit her for their revenge schemes and when the girl becomes like the people she's spending the majority of her time with they *get angry and call her names* and they never get any shit for creating this pretty monster. What Cady did was absolutely bad but their relationship started with them lying to her to coerce her into skipping class. Her only friends. On her second day of public school. Ever.
