I get it, kazuya is insane up close but online is so much worse for him and he has a shit ton of startup on any move that isn't electric with overall abysmal range and a slow predictable projectile. ITS NOT EVO GRAND FINALS I JUST WANT TO FIGHT STOP RUNNING
The real answer: Pick mii brawler and snipe with shotput. That ball beats everything.

@@gayanime8981 thanks you! I have been a bowser jr main since when the character appeared in smash and as a main, I see no one talk about the character's strengths.
Another cool part of cannonball is how it's useful regarding of how long you charge it. Fully charging is a hard-to-bray projectile that makes it hard to dodge and breaks shields (if you couple it with other moves like the drift attack in side-b and the mechakoopa), while not charging it leaves slow-moving projectiles that function like walls to funnel opponents into you/away from you or helps you get back on stage (the cannonball either restricts your opponent's options or makes them spend time reflecting so you can drop and get to edge).

I played against an absurdly campy Samus player a little while ago. MF would literally run away when i tried to approach and try to set up on the edge of the stage to spam projectiles. It was a basically a cat and mouse game until she got where she wanted to be. Eventually when I caught on I figured "I'll play like a bitch too" and stood on the other side of the stage jumping over and shielding all projectiles and did nothing else. I guess she got frustrated/bored and eventually decided to play for real and it became painfully obvious why this player chose to camp. Quit out after I won the match because its truly no fun to play against someone like that.
Played against a very similar Samus, dropping bombs running away spamming projectiles..

That's not a samus player. That's somebody who likes to use samus, but that's not a real samus player. Those dumbasses give me and all other actual samus players a bad name
I had 2 Samuses like this last night myself. These are easier to beat than people who know how to utilize her full kit.
@@JaredHollowell I agree. I am a ZSS main but dabble here and there with Samus (mainly for casual play) because I'm a huge Metroid fanboy. She can be a really fun character when you mix up her ranged tools with up close aggression. Just in any online game there will always be people who want to play like turtles which I just choose to finish out the match (win or lose) and move on.

Step one: Pick Game and Watch
Step two: press down b
Step three: play against a severely nerfed character with the player not knowing really what to do and you playing normal game and watch with a few more buckets than usual
jesus, i just played against the campiest Samus in lag. not a huge problem if there's no lag, but really frustrating when there is. welp...time to find more IRL friends that play smash 😅

I like playing Smash online
One thing that works at every level against projectile spammers: When you get the lead camp. Play lame, win game. If they expect you to approach just run away, use those platforms, plank, whatever it takes to tilt them back. I use Piranha plant as a counter pick and I can tell you from experience I win almost every match I get the lead with b/c they are then forced to approach me, but if I lose the first stock I have to claw my way back into the set because they no longer have to approach me and its much harder to get a hit. If a character has a lot of projectiles they are often slow, have small hitboxes, etc. so they aren't designed to approach. Maximize your advantage off of this and it gets much easier.

@@shadowbonbon3 As a Falco player, Camping against Ganondorf is unfun. It’s much more fun to approach, win the neutral with great Frame Data, and then Get a 60-80 percent Combo off of that one neutral win.
Ganondorf really can’t win this matchup. His neutral game sucks because of his mobility and lack of defensive options. Falco’s neutral is limited, but his aerial and grounded options (Tilts) are so good that they make up for his mobility. Losing the Neutral once means massive damage for Ganondorf. Playing Against a character who can win neutral consistently just amplifies his weakness to combos worse, making the matchup almost unwinnable.
Don’t even get me started on Recovery.

How to pick a secondary to compliment your main?
Well pick someone with range, especially if you're playing someone like Kirby (like your icon)! Dark Pit, Joker, Byleth, Peach, Palutena, Link, ... Bowser?! Etc.
@@PrestoJacobson I'm more so asking for other people. I think I've got my main figured out and secondary out. Which used to be Kirby but due to him being, well, bad and a video on my channel I've dropped him a while ago.

how to deal with a campy player in casual play: get a franklin badge, or use another player as a meat shield.
Mii gunners take the most patience to play against and if they rocking a sans or cuphead outfit I pray for you 😅

Zoners are a whole different species on FD and Kalos
If I know I'm going to play a campy player in tournaments I use wolf and Chase them down since wolf is so fast in the air and can reflect their projectiles and I can easily start combos with the Nair since it lasts so long. Plus wolf grab kills at a high percent

Another thing to know about campers is that they are oftentimes good at a distance, but they are terrible when you actually get close to them. Some of them are so used to fighting a long range that they neglect to train themselves in up close hand to hand combat and defense.

Can you make a video covering rar follow-ups out of grabs? For example, Palutena's Down Throw BAIR combo. How do you input the bair? Since down throw sends forwards and true rars require a dash and you can't dash to make down throw bair true. And can you also cover whether or not it is good to train against level 9 CPUs at the mid to higher levels?
I like how most of this video was how to deal with Samus lol. None the less, great tips for beginners, maybe even intermediate players.
if you can deal with samus you can probably handle the other characters.
Here’s the best casual camping method
1: fall for it for a bit
2: make them feel comfortable and/or safe
3: pull out the things that defeat them and overwhelm them.
4: repeat for as long as they continue
'cept Samus' fair is extremely safe and even when you run in to punish, it's lingering hitbox might hit you if your timing isn't perfect. Maybe this is just with online though. Campy characters aren't that difficult offline.

All I’m going to say is that patience is a virtue. As someone who plays Snake, Mega Man, and Mii Gunner, you need a lot of patience to beat them at a high level.
I love when i play online and i get cloud on a stage with no platforms and he just range spams.
I want more advanced tips for campy and SPECIFICALLY grab oriented players.

I got camped by a Pit that kept using side b when I got close. I was playing joker and I would use rebels guard to get past the arrows and when have arsene I would go in then sheild the side b then hit up or toward smash then spike then t bag.It gets harder with olimar since he has good air attack so I would sheild his coward air then full jump to call out Greg and come down with punish grab or dair.
There’s more to camping than projectile camping , you can get circle camped or even camped by swordfighter or SONIC

@@Koko-cy4ff the first thing to do is to learn how to neutral dodge. This is really good for dodging grabs and alot of the dash attacks in the game. But dont over use it or you'll get baited. Another good way is reading. I dont know your main but for me being a samus main, if I see sombody run up to me I'm always going to expect a grab or a pressure so I usually just drop a bomb and then follow up. You'll have to do some research on your main, but learning and practicing some baits and reads will go a long way in winning not only neutral, but just games in general

Why in the seven hell would i accept to play like that? To have to move mountains just to get into them? To react is always better than to act, and i do believe campers have a line of thinking when they wall out ganon or some other non projectiles. If said ganon comes out, ä campers will have eons to adjust while that ganon is fighting for his life to approach and then connect something.
The best way is to simply avoid them. And if your going pro or to tournaments then be prepared to take a shitload of dmg and have a strong mental game. Unless you choose to become a camper and thus it's all gone.
Another pro tip, get an Ethernet cable
That would only solve 50% of the problem if the online wasn't unplayable anyway. I played in private lobbies while wired and the lag was still horrible

...Well... not gonna lie, I’m that Sheik who needle camps you until you go in and a land a weak nair, combo you for 30%, and go needle camp again until you get to 100%. Then, you run in, and I weak nair -> bouncing fish you and you die.

This is the problem with ultimate. The best way to deal with camping is to camp at a distance where u can react to projectiles

I thought I'd be able to play smash and never know that camping (the most disgraceful method of gaming) was even a thing. Then I joined tournaments and quick play and I hate smash online now. Not melee. There is no such thing in Melee. Ultimate, however, has ruined my love for smash.

HakumeiTenshi A good rushdown can overwhelm any camping, smash rewards aggressive play
then theres characters who have insane up close and zoning capabilities like cloud, samus, and palu.
Xen clouds zoning is really bad
Xen that’s because their game plan is to annoy you into making bad approach options. Most projectiles don’t kill until really late, and the ones that do have obvious timings. Stay patient and you should be able to get in safely and do more damage than they can.

Isabelle is quite literally the most annoying smash bros ultimate character in the game and it’s not even close (besides the two obvious top tiers), fcking fishing line and loid rocket give so much space control it’s unfair and the range on fishing line and the fact it has a grab box while retrieving it back is so tilting. Also her setup zoning playstyle coupled with her insane close range options in nair and jab are just fcking annoying asf. How tf do I beat this character, and how tf do I kill all her loid rocket setups
Most of my characters are stuck in the 100k GSP hole, but I have a few that aren’t and let me tell you that if you’re above 2.5 million GSP about the only characters you’ll find are campy samuses, links, Zelda, lucina, roy, and ness. I’ve been stuck between 3-5mil GSP forever and these are the only matches I find. I constantly run into these laggy campy players who I absolutely can’t do anything against. If you do nothing, you get hit, if you approach, they move. Not only that, but some of these players use ridiculously horrible rule sets in order to cheese the opponent. I find it absurd.

Beat out rebel’s guard with side-b or up-b at high percents, bait out arsen counters and spot dodges with smash attacks, cover landings with held up-smash. The main thing you have to worry about is joker’s side-b, which is pretty annoying, but can be avoided like they mentioned in the video.

I dont think campy has much to do with edgeguarding. the best of the edgeguards are usually done without projectiles
