As a Joker main who is Highly Agressive, Character who loves to approach playing defense is by far my weakest fundamental. So this Video is really helpful for my defense!
since its hard to get in as kirby sometimes and you loose alot of trades you need to play a bait and punish playstyle which is more defensive by nature. Maybe its not a "defensive" playstyle, but a very patient one. Still you need to stay aggressive all the time that is true. But there is several seconds where you should be defensive
I main Incineroar. I don't exactly have that many options for defensive play. Camping with Revenge means little if you don't start going on the offense...
Incineroar has been my main since release i've competed a bunch of and defensive play is key to winning u need lots of patience a lot of its pushing the opponent into the corner with shield and using plats to to play around the opponents safe zone sometimes you just have to lay back revenge isn't that good of a camping option
I think a good thing to know is that some characters are better at certain play styles but don't rely on it. I think a good example would be characters like Snake that has good projectiles and melee attacks can be defensive or offensive when the situation calls for it.
Last match I had was against a Link that loved his Special button so much he tried to use more than one boomerang. I have a feeling that player was a very derailed Ness main. Also he was spamming F-Tilt and Up-Tilt when I was at "close" distance, he was whiffing almost every single one. I was playing with Pichu and, SOMEHOW, I was at 190% during one stock, which he finished with a Final Smash. (Wow, use that on a 190% Pichu, great strategy)
These super long pauses are really annoying and just pad out the video for revenue. The video just has bad pacing for a fundamentals guide. I know y'all are trying to make money, but you can pad the run time with extra info or tips at the end or something.
I think doing the clips at the end was good. The middle pacing is awkward, but if they just added a text thing that said what example was getting shown, it would be perfectly fine.
@@novaa44 this is a fair point and after consideration, I will say that my previous opinion was wrong. ProGuides has improved from what they used to do. I still think that the voiceover is stiff and it feels like a watchmojo video.
in rivals of aether my playstyle with orcane and ori is to be agressive at low or 0 damage zoning agressivley or rushing down and then i cool of at high percents camping or bait and punish
Has it been addressed what to do if your character isn't great at offense and relies on defensive play? In the case that aggression is required for the situation, that is.
Try and get a decent lead on your opponent using projectile mix-ups, or try and land non-committal moves, then once you have a decent enough lead you should try and camp and be defensive.
With the boomerang following into a fair or you could even do a first hit bair leading into a ton of options including: second bair, f tilt, up smash, f smash sometimes, grab and nair
@@Max-qb5ui I agree but most people just don't do that lmao this game promotes safe options so you're almost obligated to camp with zoners (Link can be a nice hybrid but since throwing stuff from across the stage doesn't put you in danger people just do that. Same with people not going offstage as guessing the get-up option is a safer alternative)
Definitely. He should approach. Now that I think about it, snakes approach game is not that good. His camping is good, but I, a random internet user, religiously believe that that these attributes are useless because they go against my opinion of how the game should be played. And because I am a random opinionated person on the internet, my opinion matters. And because my opinion matters, and to solve these oh so aggravating problems, I propose a solution. Salem should drop snake and play fox. Problem solved. No thanks required.
4:15 Mario having a heart attack, beside it's a really good video!
oh somebody else noticed

Sadly I’m a Joker main who isn’t aggressive enough 🥲
Love how most of this video is just Light getting bodied
lol
There is probably not a single second of the match were a Kirby should be on the defensive.
Unless you get a projectile from the SUCC
He protecc
He attacc
But most importantly,
HE SUCC
Long live the fact that F throw at 50% combos into copy abilities. Even charge shot, darkest lariat and hero neutral B

Smee I forgot that. I like to dash up to people and sheild or dash back so i can get a grab or an up tilt
How about using crouch to defend against the spacies
As a palutena main and wii fit trainer as my secondary this guide is actually quite helpful on both sides for me

Aren't at least half of those pauses because an example of what he said is on screen?
The pauses were to visually analyze pro players applying aggressive/defensive play. It's good to learn from not just concepts but examples.

Noah Jordan but the video just happens to hit exactly 10:01? Yeah ok
I play so aggressively but yeah I need to work on over shooting

Honestly this video is great for Little Mac mains since overshooting and whiff punishing is the base of his neutral.
They did light grimey in this video
Approach if you are behind, camp if you're ahead.

Fighting defensive campers is like being lost in a IKEA. A million ways to go but you'll never reach the taget...
Solution: you should always camp
Yup I'm a link wifi main
you are the reason why online mode sucks
Winning without talent is just so fun
I’m also a Link main but I don’t camp. He can actually go really Agro with close range boomerangs and bomb juggles.

What if you play Megaman?
This is Bonkers
This came just at the right time! This guides are immensly helpful!! Thanks!!
Great you’re telling people when to camp, as if online did a good job of that already.
Wdym, no one is good at camping. Lol
Wild Champions yeah but people do it all the time regardless if they’re good at it
Who the hell cares about "online"? Lmao
Omega Storm everyone that said it was bad
online there isn't a "when to camp", there only is "camp". I can't play more than an hour without getting too annoyed by that
Did this man really put tea as a defensive player smh
You guys really did everything you could drag this out to that *sweet sweet **10:00*

Game rewards camping so much. A big reason why this is the exact opposite of the "Ultimate" smash game. It's the worst one, ever
When to camp: NEVER, it's despicable and makes you look like a coward. Period
