    your methodology of determining "prestige" is pathetic. in my opinion all of the engineering fields are adding value to the world and they are all prestigious.

      Appreciate the feedback. I agree that every engineer has a lot to offer regardless of where he or she works, and I think it goes without saying that engineering adds value to the world. The way I've defined prestige is simply a way to objectively differentiate between engineering disciplines and help those who wish to work at one of the Fortune 500 companies. By no means am I discrediting any particular discipline or the value that engineering brings.
