    I now did this for some time now, almost every day. On the first tries, I begun to panic when my body told me to breath and it was very hard to fight against it. I could not get tocthe 2 minute mark most of the time. Now I stay calm and collected - it's astonishing, how practice makes this so much easier and I can now alwaye get to the 2 minute mark. I feel very relaxed after doing this table. I do it before going to sleep and it helps to calm down.
    I think, I will try the 2:30 in the near future. :-)
    Thanks so much!

    This was amazing!
    My previous longest hold was 45 seconds, but I've been watching some of your content and taking it all in, and I was so surprised that I made it to the 2 minute mark, I've never ever done that before.
    I also really love that you did it in a busy environment with lots of distractions, even a dam ambulance which always gets people heightened! Great chance to stay focused and calm.
    Really enjoyed this entire experience!

    That was tough but doable.
    I used to just do a ton of rabdom breath holding as a kid and got just over the 2:30 mark. For that last bit, I used to move to distract; pace around, move limbs to take the focus away. The peaceful nature of relaxation helps. Just leaning into the suck.
    I almost didn't get through this and was starting to get uncomfortable at 1:30. Thank you for giving me faith to believe I could do it.
    Amazing resource!

    This is great content. Your presentation, style and format are excellent. Thank you so much for this. Two days ago I tested myself before I found your videos and held for 55 seconds. After watching one of your videos yesterday I did 2:10. Following this video today I did 2:40. I never would have thought it possible. This is great training, thank you.

    I did it. Great training. I watched your video on 2 min. breathe hold yesterday and I managed to hold my breathe for 2 minutes several times during the day. I did it after a couple of breathes. My record is 2:35 now. It was much easier than I expected. Relaxation is really the key.

    Thanks to a lot of your videos, I was able to hit 3 minutes 20 seconds in the water. 4 minutes is right around the corner. As I get closer, contractions are less of a problem and much more comfortable. Your videos are inspirational.

    I have been taking a freediving course in the phillipines with evolve / mark.
    During which i find your videos and had immediate progression with duck diving, finning, breath hold and doubled my time and depth underwater. Following your table i managed, with holding my nose shut for the last 20-15 seconds each round. With a breathing technique i did 05:15 holding shut for about 50 seconds.
    You are a big help ❤

    I habe ADHD in combination with autism and it‘s so difficult for me to mediate although I know it‘s good for me. But doing it in combination with the challenge of holding my breath helps me so much in focusing! I love to swim, dive and snorkel and was so frustrated could only do 35 seconds with struggle. But now I just did 2 min! How?! I know when I dive it will be more difficult since my body uses more O2 to move under water, but this is so motivating! I just love the mix of mediation, challenge and and anticipation. :D

I like the fact that you are constantly giving verbal instructions and encouragement, cos it allows me to just close my eyes and focus on relaxing, knowing that I can just follow your voice. I got to 1:15 easily but when I tried the 1:30 I started to stress because it felt like it was so far from 1:15 and it made me give up at 1:10. I then went back to 1:15 with the intention to just hold my breath 10sec extra. In the end I easily got to 2min and felt like I could even much longer to be honest. Thanks that was fun and relaxing look forward to doing it again or pushing to 2:30. Question, sometime I struggle with the fact I want to take a big breath filling up all my lungs, but then I might feel some tension in the chest. I'm assuming this will decrease my hold time? Is there a way to stretch for bigger holds or is it just practice. Also, for anyone else out there I carry tension in my jaw and I find relaxing the jaw and tongue really helps my breath times.

    • @gertleroy
      @gertleroy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      feeling pressure in the chest is quite normal in the initial stage of a breathhold, espacially when you do it on dry land. It goes away after some time. Please watch my playlist STRETCHING FOR FREEDIVING. cheers

    So do you do this warm-up while in the water to get to your "max" breath? i.e. if you can hold your breath for 10min, you do a couple 7min dives before going for your 10min dives?
    My wife and I and very new to this since we recently moved to an island and we want to snorkel for the first time 😃. Today is the first time doing these breath-holds and I am happy (and surprised) to see that I can consistently do 3:15sec+ and I was able to break the 4:08sec once! (I did 8 "reps"...5min here I come!)

    I could hold my breath for 1:45, but now I don't go past 45 seconds. What happens is that 45 seconds in I have contractions and feel like I want to exhale because I feel the pressure from the air I inhaled. I can feel my pulse and it freaks me out. It's very sad because I want to freeduve but I just can't hold my breath. I watched your videos about relaxation and all this stuff but it doesn't really help to beat these contractions and pressure that I feel from inhaled air. Do you think I'm hopeless or there's something I can do about it?

    • @gertleroy
      @gertleroy  ปีที่แล้ว

      you're hopeless! 😉 No serious.. all you need is to learn the skill of relaxation. If you have contractions after 45 secs already it's because you're anxious. Learn to get rid of your fears, pay attention to letting go all tension out of the muscles and you'll get there. watch my playlist Breathing techniques for freediving 🙏
