    Thanks for the tips. Although these exercises are for divers I was only interested in them for improving breathing and cardiovascular health. I think a lot of the training free divers do could have a massive impact on general health I.e. lowering heart rate, blood pressure etc. Do you have any thoughts on the applications of these exercises for general health?

      I think all these stretching and breath work exercises, which freedivers do, can have a positive effect on a general wellbeing as well!

    Hi I have been watching your videos for the last three days and there’s so many I cannot figure out where to start!!! Right now I need a video that shows me what I should be practicing First when I wake up in the morning? I just watched another video on the three-part breathing I think maybe I should start there ? And then I will try to do this one here two times a week ? What else? :) That’s the thing, as much as im thankful to you I really don’t know what I should be practicing most before i go to the pool? Thanks for making these videos 🙌

    Which muscle brings your stomach up? It can't be the diaphragm as it only goes down? Is it the transverse Abdominus?

    • @KAIZENFREEDIVING
      @KAIZENFREEDIVING  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are correct, it's abdominal muscles, not the contraction of the diaphragm

    What do you think about using a belt/rope and getting it tight around your chest and breathing or putting a weight on your abs and do "weighted breathing"? I like going to extremes and if it is a muscle, why not max out and try very hard?

    • @KAIZENFREEDIVING
      @KAIZENFREEDIVING  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If your goal is freediving, than I just dont see any benefit in weighted breathing....about rope around chest, some freedivers do it. But I prefer to use my arms for it, I actually did recently a video about it

  • @truthfighterEB99
    @truthfighterEB99 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey! 3 questions...
    Should this also be done before diving?
    Can 1 of these stretches be enough?
    So these help in increasing volume for those who can't inhale deeply 100%?

    • @KAIZENFREEDIVING
      @KAIZENFREEDIVING  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! Thx for your questions!
      Some freedivers do stretching right before a dive, some dont. If you decide to do it before diving, make sure you are doing it in a relax way, no intense here. More like loosing your muscles
      2. I prefer to do a didicated stretching session, so 1 is never enough in this case😉
      3. Theoretically yes and this what a lot of freedivers say. But I never saw proper study on this topic.

      @truthfighterEB99 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KAIZENFREEDIVING oh ok thanks! I just started liking doing 3 stretches for first time in my whole 3 years of freediving. I kinda have a little problem and this stretching makes me inhale 100% almost completely!
      Subscribed and do and learn whatever for freediving:)
      I'm trying to acheive a 4-5 minute freedive and am 17 right now. My best apnea walk time was 3 minutes after a year of training in apnea walking.

    • @KAIZENFREEDIVING
      @KAIZENFREEDIVING  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry, but no. Combining freediving and scuba diving (or even considering using it) is a direct way to have a deadly serious injury, like lung over extension or DCS.
      If you do freediving, you don't need a pony tank. You just need to follow safety rules :)
