It's not a unique event. It's the tropics and we do get rain like this. All depends on how well your area drains. In most cases you can get a ton of rain and then a few hours later you can't even tell that it rained at all. It's a function of urban development and managing drainage.
My ex-husband and I moved to FL in 2003 from NY. By 2006 I was ready to move back to NY but he did not want to. Fast forward to 2015 ( due to marriage problems)we were separated and in 2018 I had prepared the divorce papers and moved back to NY. He eventually completed the divorce proceedings in 2018. NY has a lot of problems but I would never move back to FL. From my personal perspective of having lived in FL for 15 yrs, its governance reminds me of a "third world" country.
It's mostly in the unincorporated parts of town and low-lying side streets. Yes, you are correct, not everywhere is flooded, only certain small sections.
This is terrible but the aftermath will not just affect this county. After the storms and rain is over with and people are compensated for their flooded out vehicles, auto insurance rates will go up again all over Florida. Unfortunately all counties must pay for one county. The car insurance should only go up for the affected counties. But that’s not how it works. If someone has an accident or vehicle storm damage in a county that I do not live in, my insurance rate will go up to help pay for it. This is not fair especially right now with high product, food, and gas prices I just cancelled my homeowner insurance after it quadrupled. Car insurance is headed in the same direction.
Can't wait to see Ron in his little white boots.😂
Once in a thousand years storm event will happen again in just weeks.
Exactly. This “rare and unique” event will be a regular occurrence.
Thankfully we don't have glaciers. Climate change has been going on since recorded history.

Welcome New Yorkers that moved here just wait until you get a hurricane if you think that this is bad.
😂😂😂😂
Karma slapping the US 😎
Classes? School is over! It's summer vacation. Also, "once in a 1,000 years"? That's not true.
Asking people to stay off streets and not drive is futile. It's like asking a dog not to bark.
Are the Houses Republicans going to fund FEMA?
R THE DEMONCRAPS???????
Please send your federal tax money to Miami homeowners that have oceanfront property.
Sinkholes coming to home near you 🤔

Every foot of waterfront has been developed, and the excess water won't run.
Forget the Milkenium, the first Gulf Hurricane is late. We got the rain !
😢😢😢😮😮😮
there's no flooding where I live in South Florida
The same places flood all the time. Sweetwater and Edgewater can be flooded in 10 minutes, so this is nothing new
