@@gabesmith9353 Thank you California and Californian rescue workers. I hope they can build a bridge through the philosophical divides between the states. As a Californian who was a Floridian for 20 years before moving, I’ve never understood why it seems so many people there seem to hate California in general. What is it they have against our great and beautiful state? (with the best weather in the country. I was in a military family, and between that and moving on my own after reaching adulthood, I’ve lived in seven U.S. states, (West Virginia, Kansas, Florida, Michigan, Indiana, New York and California, and I’ve been in about 42 states in total), and I can say without hesitation that California has the best weather, and it has so much natural beauty and majesty. Yeah, it’s expensive, but we have a lot of perks for it. And there are many opportunities. And there is a mix of Republicans and Democrats here. Yes, there are a few more Dems than Republicans, but we can stay at peace with each other. So why would anyone hate this magnificent state?

Earlier today I posted a question about alligators in the flood water. Nobody on the news has mentioned that until I just saw this video tonight. At 3:38 minutes an alligator is seen biting at the tires of a rescue vehicle. I have really been worried about all of the rescuers and residents wading around in, or floating in, this flood water.
Alligators can and will live nearly anywhere. New waterways will have been opened up to them to interest them in exiting the canals, ponds, and rivers where they usually reside and move into flooded streets and residential lawns. They are probably hungrier right now because their usual food sources may have been diminished. I haven't heard anything about wildlife being drowned out, but it has to be happening. I fear we could even see some extinctions of species that were on the endangered list, if their habitats are in the worst areas.

I honestly believe this should mark the first stage of a serious consideration to move from Florida before it finally sinks. Since Irma it is getting almost yearly monster cyclones which is making it useless to rebuild property just to be destroyed again every year. Everyone knows Florida's geological fate is doomed. Seriously, consider moving north to higher ground.

Many years ago my grandmother was in an Alzheimer’s unit in a retirement center. Everyone was evacuated by bus across the state to the west coast to a sister retirement center. My parents had friends over there and made sure she was alright. Then another hurricane came from the west and she was sent back east by bus. So not all nursing homes stay in the hurricane zone. It’s been mentioned that the bigger problem was the massive tornadoes this time. I lived in Florida for a while, hurricanes are just part of living in Florida. We made it through Irma that was pretty bad.

The catch is so much is required and most places have to turn down people because of background checks. Which they do depend on people from other countries trying to get into nursing and other parts of the medical field. My wife was telling me when she first came here initially she was going to work in a nursing home they offered her to rent a room at a house with like 5 other people for very cheap for the riverside orange county area but she turned it down because the pay was kinda low. I explained to her it wasn't because the rent would have been higher in an apartment it is what it is

Well if you didn’t know, Jesus will fulfill you more than anything in this world, I speak from experience (from when i did Romans 10:9-13), he loves you and wants to be in a meaningful (not romantic) relationship with you. :)
“that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
      ‭‭Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭9‬-‭13‬ ‭KJV‬‬
“and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.”
      ‭‭Mark‬ ‭1‬:‭15‬ ‭KJV‬‬
If you want proof that Jesus and the Bible are true look a documentary called “Ron Wyatt discoveries 2022” on TH-cam and a TH-cam channel called Expedition Bible. They both examine archeological sites and discoveries that prove the Bible, and even reference secular sources. (Just don’t convert to 7th day Adventism after watching the documentary) And lastly if you don’t know the gospel and want to be saved search up “abc’s of Salvation Teenmissions” on Google and it should be the first or second result. When you click on it read the whole thing, and do what it says and have faith in Jesus while you are doing it, do not doubt, and if it is hard for you to do what it says, ask Jesus to help you, have faith that he will, and *he will.*
      God Bless :)

Rode the storm out near Daytona Beach. It was a long night with whipping winds and relentless rain. My house flooded during Hurricane Ian in 2022; Milton produced enough water to come into the garage but… the rest of the house was spared!

@@desertdetroiter428 That's an exceptional question! And one many people have. I wish I could provide a simple answer to you-all things happen for a reason, and God sees all things from beginning to end. As the world becomes more chaotic, we find ourselves in a fallen state, separated from God and His presence. In His infinite wisdom, as humans, we see the tragedies caused by these events, the destruction, the fear, the sadness, and the death. Without the context of the Plan of Salvation, one might assume that God is taking innocent lives without reason.
But I promise you there's a reason. Despite the danger, the sadness, and the frustration, as the world grows into more turmoil, we find ourselves growing closer together (COVID-19 was a perfect example of this). As people work together to love, care, share, and support one another, this is just one reason to why this could've happened.
This explanation is only my earthly understanding. I don't know God's true purpose for allowing this to occur. But I promise you that if you study God and His nature, you will come to understand that our focus is what allows us to see Him in all things. By definition, all things that are good are of God. Study Him, learn of Him, and I know and promise you'll come to find the reasoning and understanding you are seeking, personally, through this.
I can provide as much of my earthly understanding as possible. I could try and explain God's every action. Nevertheless, I am not God. I do not fully know of His ways. But I do know of His nature, and am thankful for His mercy every single day.
Push forward my friend. Understanding will come in due time. Don't lose your faith or give up hope when trials come-for they are what make you stronger, and prepare you to return to the presence of God. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen. ❤

it hit my neighborhood late wednesday, the northern eyewall right over my town--the strongest winds contained within. I sat with my cats and dogs in a small dark hallway , the only area in my house away from windows, listening to the most ghastly, howling winds i've ever heard in my life while my house shook like there was earthquake. debris flying around. i thought there was lightning but then my entire house was lit up with rainbow colors, there were transformers blowing up all over my neighborhood, lighting up the sky like lightning and then multi-colored...I had no idea what it was until later...it was like a horror film, with every window and door shaking. Just when i thought it passed, it came whipping through again, trees bending and losing branches everywhere flying around like missles, a horrible sound that just never seemed to end. One of the scariest nights of my life-from a sensory perspective and just the absolute DREAD of imminent doom hanging over every sound and impact. Even though I don't live in an evacuation zone, I will NOT stay home to ride it out next time anything higher than a category 2 comes nearby.

The roads were packed because everyone wants to evacuate as well. There are some people that cant be transported as easy as getting in the car. The government could do something like free bus travel just for evacuating people so less cars are on the road but there are certain people who will never invest in public transportation.
