RH Valve Cover is simple to remove the LH side I found to be a lot more difficult as there was little slack in the wiring harness that runs across the cover which makes reinstallation tough and is very easy to roll the gasket on reinstallation.

I did this to change the valve cover gaskets but damn the drivers side cover is soo hard to get to these bolts at the back and near the heat sheild!. Also I dropped one bolt and never found it 🤦‍♂️

Oh no! Yeah, it is a super tight fit. I dropped a few bolts but luckily I found them with an extend magnetic stick tool. They usually get stuck on the underbody guard shield.

Hi just purchased a C63 507 with 65k on the clock, Do these adjusters have a time limit for when they go bad or a mileage or is it just pot luck when they go?
    Thanks for the channel

Congratulations on the C63! To my knowledge the cam adjusters should last past 100k before having issues. However!, they are not. There are a lot of cases of premature failure. My car lasted to 95k+ miles before an issue. But others are seeing issues at 50, 60, 70k. Just one of those things... 🤷🏽‍♂️ Thanks for commenting and tuning in to the channel!

my car currently has 122,000 kms, and just started having the issue. I've heard it occur sooner and later though.

I get a lot of my Mercedes parts from FCPEuro.com. They are awesome and pretty fairly priced. I love the kits they offer for some of the common jobs. Also, shipping for me has been pretty fast as well.

What’s the mileage on your Mercedes?

hey man. i turned the crankshaft to that 40 degree mark. but when i took the adjuster cover off. none of the adusters` part number are facing up. and now the red timing tool cannot fit in those gap. But the tools that used to locked the front of the camshaft can be fit in. im really confused.

Hey there. Ok, did you put the tool on the back of the camshafts first to ensure they are in the correct position? They can only go in one way. However, the front locking tool can work even when the camshafts are in the wrong position. The adjuster part numbers do not technically have to be facing up. However, there could be a couple reasons why they are not facing up. 1. You have the camshafts upside wrong orientation (upside down). 2. Your cam adjusters were previously worked on and installed with the part numbers upside down.
