    The amount of times I just driven past a lot of traffic through the bus lane is insane. Such satisfaction doing it too

      Totally agree! And then you look back and notice loads of cars following you 😆

    Best to stay out of them on your test.Get that passed then you can do what you like, just remember to cover your plates first.(safety first!)
    Thanks mate & thumbs up.

    It's very easy to forget this, especially in a test. Thankfully nearly all, if not all, bus lanes in Manchester are 7-10am and 4-7pm Monday to Friday and my driving test was at 8am, so the simple answer for me was; no, you cannot use the bus lane on the test.
    I use them on the weekend and heads turn as if I'm in the wrong which is always funny.

    Thanks for the tips Franco 👌 My one question is always - How on earth does one read the signs/times when you're driving past, sometimes fairly quickly?! 😦

    • @DrivingSchoolTV
      @DrivingSchoolTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You could slow down 😉
      But also bus lane signs tend to follow the same patterns. The main ones are-
      At any time
      7am-7pm
      7-10 am and 4-7pm

    I see so many people avoid using the bus lane. I guess they assume the bus lane is in use 24 hours, but that’s not always the case.
    Word of advice: read the operating times of the bus lane. If the bus lane is in use 24 hours, do not use it. If it’s in use between 7-10AM for instance, do not use the bus lane at that time.

    • @DrivingSchoolTV
      @DrivingSchoolTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly!

    • @DaveDVideoMaker
      @DaveDVideoMaker 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DrivingSchoolTV Plus, if you avoid using the bus lane outside of operation times, you’ll prevent vehicles from overtaking, and hold up traffic.

      I think drivers avoid driving in bus lanes to be ‘on the safe side’.

      I know a bus lane that is not in use 24 hours near my area, and very few people actually use it.

    Can we wait behind the bus lane and wait before changing to the right lane to avoid the bus lane?

  • @nic.25
    @nic.25 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why is it that some police cars never seem to use bus lanes when on call. They expect everyone to move into the bus lane to get out of their way, even when restrictions are on.

    mate i got a question do you know if the london road bus lane camera runs new years eve was going to see fire works with the kids and did not realise till it was to late it is 24 hour but it was like 11:55pm last night would i still get a ticket for that would be grateful for any response thanks dennis

    • @DrivingSchoolTV
      @DrivingSchoolTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      You would indeed still get a ticket but the chances of a camera being on you for the short stretch you were in the bus lane is low. I wouldn’t worry about it until a ticket comes. And even then it’s only a fine!

  • @darenbayliss7173

    If there’s a line of traffic in the ‘overtaking’ lane and you undertake in an open bus lane (i.e outside of its operating hours), are you committing an offence?

    • @DrivingSchoolTV
      @DrivingSchoolTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you’re travelling in slow moving traffic and the left lane is moving faster than the right lane it’s acceptable to undertake. That would cover this situation! Also if the vehicle in the right lane is turning right it’s acceptable to undertake.
