    So...This is my second or third view. Lol. Now I have the MIM version of same guitar and the GT1. Hahaha. I bet you are playing very very well by now. You were doing great then.

    Bar chords at 3 months🤔 I don’t think so, been teaching for 15 years haven’t seen it yet!

    • @theamateurguitarist6187
      @theamateurguitarist6187  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      0226lauren I’ll take that as a compliment. I’m about 18months in now. I had a lesson the other day with a new teacher and he told me my bar chords were Grade 5 standard that would typically take 4 years to get to. I’m sure I’m massively lacking in other areas though. Hotel California was the third or so proper song I attempted so was doing Bars from the start. I did spend quite a bit of time each day practicing them and chord changes altogether at the beginning. The bars in here probably weren’t actually that good though, I’m sure there are more than a few muted strings in there.

    • @0226lauren
      @0226lauren 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You must practice 12 hours a day, no such thing as natural reincarnated guitarist. Takes some of my best students 8 months to a year just to change between bar chords and open chords and most of these students play other instruments and sight read music.

    • @adamyates598
      @adamyates598 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@0226lauren well that's probably because you teach children that have weak little hands. The reason people have trouble with bar chords is due to lack of finger strength

    How refreshing not to have an irritating self-indulgent shred-noodler showing off when all you wanna do is find out how the thing works! :o)

    I have watched 1000's of reviews on guitar gear in my lifetime. This is one of the best I have ever seen. We need more reviews like this one out in the world. It's easy for pros to make anything sound good. Hard for us Amateurs or guys just starting out. This unit sounded great in your hands and that tells me alot.

    Most effects pedal reviews are guys just showing off how good they can play. hardly ever explain anything, just sit there saying 'look what i can do'....really nice to see a review for a pedal that shows the pedal and not the guitarist

    Hey mate, I just wanted to say, for someone who has only been playing for 3months, you sound great!
    And, that looks like a bone fide USA Fender Strat to me, hell of a guitar to learn on. Even if its a Mexican Strat, still a hell of a guitar to learn on. I started on a classical guitar from Argos..and then upgraded to something called a Hohner...lol
    Keep going dude, you're gonna get there!

    I’ve been playing guitar for over 20 years and this is one of the most helpful videos I’ve seen. When I wanna hear tone, I don’t wanna hear shredding. If it sounds this good with a beginner player, I’m sure it sounds good with an experienced one and I mean this as a compliment. Keep it up!

  • @dansmith543

    Great review mate, I've been playing for 15years, I wish they had units like this when I just started out. They were crap compared to this. Anyway, agree with other's comments about other reviews with people just shredding away showing off. Guitar gear now is fantastic for beginners, keep practicing mate then you'll be reviewing the next multi effects unit and shredding away... 🤘

  • @Kevlar_soul

    Thanks for the info just got the boss and didn’t realized I could do that.
    Wish someone would have given me this tip when starting. Get a notebook and write out the songs you learn in the book. In this case you can even write in the settings for the boss.
    You will be amazed on how many songs you will have learned but forgot you know how to play. Funny thing is you hands remember them so even if you haven’t played them in years it can take min to pick a song back up that took you weeks to learn when u first start.
    Also be sure you learn two easy fun song for every project song. Project songs are the cool songs that take a long time to get right. They improve your skills but can be bad for moral of you can’t get them.

    Crazy I saw this. I just bought a MIM Special Edition run the gilmour looking one. On reverb. The guy just bought it and swapped the black pickguard to the white like yours. That's how mine looks now. I'll put the black back on one day. But I'm so wondering whether to get this gt1 or the zoom g3xn. So confused. Lol. Guess I cant wrong. But Boss is good. Keep uploading. Ill do the same. Lol

    It's an old review by now but wanted to give you props for showing HOW the unit works and not just picking five metal patches and shredding. You made an excellent demo vid even though you knew your playing was beginner level--mad props! We can see a million guitar wankers on Instagram but it's the pedal we want to see. Well done.

      zenmaster mine is a HT1R. Don’t use the amp, plug in though the line in socket, that way you bypass the amp and go straight to the speaker. This is of course if you’re using the amp emulations on the GT1.
