I just bought one four months ago. Really like it. I've wanted an Axe-Fx for years, but $1000+ for a used one is too steep for me. I considered the Boss GX100, but then I found out about the GT-1 and a local music store had one so I bought it.
I’m almost ashamed to admit it, but I still enjoy my pocket pod thru headphones and even desktop speakers. It’s my go to for quick EVH and SRV preset tones at low volume. Great for travel too. These older devices are underrated.

It's a cheaper one on Amazon. I WAS going to get that one but I saw this one available. I do like boss products, having even previously owned the Boss Katana 50 guitar amp. So I decided to spend a little more and the the GT-1. Noting that I have a drummer in this band, I'm not needing a drum machine so it was easy to make the choice. I am pleased!
Played it live for a year and then went back to "real" amps. It has decent blues-tones but the distortions were a bit lackluster. Overall it's a good unit.

i plan on getting one son just for the delay/modulation/reverb as i love my boss pedals but dont feel like lugging around a whole pedal board and power system
Amazing video as always alex! And just one question. Do you ever plan on bringing back the red dragon signature guitar? Its a sick looking guitar and would love to hear and see more of it!
yes it still is, i sold my g3xn and bought gt-1 because it is more reliable and convenient for me in live sets, easy to control and navigate and lightweight too.
Can you use this as a stomp box for effects? Like instead of each switch switching presets with amps and ir’s, use each foot switch to just turn on separate effect pedals ? Currently looking for a multi-effects unit to replace all my separate modulation/reverb/delay pedals and would love if I could use this instead.
You can, by using the buttons above the switches. You can assign you effects under distortion, delay, mod etc, and you can switch on/off by pushing these buttons. Think of the gt1 as a table effect more than a foot-controller.
I’ve had mine since 2018 & *love* it. I bought-it for quiet practice in my L.A. apartment, but ended-up using it for recording & my tone-snob friends think I’m miking my amps. 😂
Great video and playing! I have a question about the durability, how durable is it when you press down the pedals? I can see the that the blue case is made out of plastic and I'm curious if anyone used this live before. And how good does this sound compared to like GT6 or GT8?
thinking in buying a used one..question the looper does it have a undo/redo ...to take a loop off when you make a mistake instead of redoing it all over?
