I'm about to buy the little Vox StompLab IIG thing as I'm not working anymore & have got to stretch me benefits,,, The COSM engine in me Boss BR600 is perfect & I've put many hours collating a hundred user patches that are the basis of my tone library in studio. BUT; I don't like that I'm putting so many hours on the recording device just to practice like you do with headphones, but am not recording anything, just using the awesome COSM engine for practice and stuff. As I said, I'll use the internals of the BR-600 recording device for recording my guitar sounds (apart from the ones where I use real amps and mics), I just want something to dick around with. I could get the Vox for £70.
Do you think I should save the extra, do you think it's really worth it for me personally?
Appreciate your thoughts, good luck with it all, stay healthy, blessings from the locked-down UK

@@Tiago_007 Cor, I tell you what... I bought the lil' Vox stomplab IIG off of amazon (my 1st ever online purchase, ever!) a couple of weeks ago and its brilliant; far exceeded my expectations. Only got it as a toy, but, it is in fact up to snuff, & am already recording with it. Its a bloody weird layout, but, there is devil in the details, & it has so many cool quirks, for the money, every guitarist should have one. Made in Japan, surprised me. I still might get the GT-1, but probably not - it's not too much extra for the ME-80 & I think that is a much better piece The Vox has a lot of character, can't praise it highly enough. It doesn't SOUND like £78... Anyway, hope you and yours are healthy in these crazy times. regards, UK

I've owned one for a few years, if you make your own patches and don't pay attention to the name of the amp or distortion pedals but trust your ears it can sound great! At times it can be a bit fizzy so you need to work at it a bit to avoid that. I made a few single coil patches and I have humbucker guitar using it's tone mod (forget the name) that allows you to select a hum to single, single to hum and more. I record a lot using it and prefer the tones to Amplitube 5 which I have, usually I mix the two to get what i want. Any how, great pedal great value.

Love the Boss GT-1...instead of connecting to an Amp I run mine into my Denon 7.2 Surround sound system. Just connect the 2 stereo outputs into the Aux input of the Receiver and you get guitar out of every surround satellite speaker as well as whatever subwoofer(s) you have connected. The sound is surprisingly clean and crisp. Just remember to use the headphone/line-out setting for Output within the GT-1 menu as it cuts some of the out-of-range signals that aren't great for your surround speakers. If you crank your surround system with any of the Amp outputs selected within the GT-1, there's a slight risk of blowing your speakers, so use some caution.

I had this little beast for almost 2 years and I'm still in love with it. Once you get the hang of it and start making your own patches you'll see it's true potential, plus they'll sound way better than the pre installed patches. Whether it's hooked up through the front of my amp's clean channel, to my headphones or connected to my 5 watt portable JBL speaker (GT-1 + small portable speaker = the ultimate fly rig) this thing kicks major ass. You can even use it as an audio interface to record with your DAW of choice. For its price othing compares to the GT-1 in quality, build and value for money 🤘.
EDIT: I also want to add when creating patches, add and use the GT-1's parametric EQ in you chain. It will take your tones to another level.

Sounds good, I tried the fx-loop in stereo and direct into the amp, at low volumes they’re both good but atm I’m just using the mono fx loop and matching it with the input setting of the gt1- bit more experimenting needed. Just started to edit a patch - it’s got gain for days - the wah pedal doesn’t have an off when u press it so I’ve assigned two matching patches side by side one wah on one off. It’s powerful enough to move the modules to different orders - at this price point thats unheard of in my book.

Dagan's reaction to that Organ effect was exactly how I felt when I first stumbled on it when I took mine out of the box and plugged it in.
The GT-1 is probably the best value out there, given how insanely customizable it is. The amp sims alone are insane, but then you get a ton of really quality effects along with it.

Hey Dagan!! Awesome channel!! Its great to hear the effects units in the style of music I play. I don't want to hear the jazzy side of things. I want crunch and distortion and heavy. Thanks!!

I have one, and I like what it does, but the foot pedal is too small for my foot (or my foot is too big for the pedal). It's okay for some volume control, but for serious pedal work, you need to plug in an external pedal.

I just got a Katana Artist and will set up the GT1 for volume and wah pedal primarily. The Katana has plenty of effects but there will be places the GT1 will fit in. Not sure if will go in the effects loop or into the front. Seems like it would work either way for volume and wah? Will be fun to play around with. Trying different things is part of the fun.

Update. I bought it. A clean channel with reverb so far is working swimmingly. The built in effects sound pretty rad on the T5z and also I recommend using 10s for wound G electric d’addario’s the 11s are definitely stiffer than the elixir 11s I had on earlier.
