- Always wanted to try an Audi RS4 B7 and now I finally get to do a test drive. This is not just any RS4 though, addition to the 4.2 V8 of the standard car it also has a supercharger fitted producing 600hp on the dyno!

You would think these supercharger compaines would lower pricing for a car thats essentially 10 yrs old. Recoup as much money as possible for limted life cycle product. 10 k is way too much.
Hey Michael, I think there are some fixed costs in terms of the superchargers themselves from Rotrex and while I understand what you're saying overall it is still very good value. For £35K-£40K you will not be able to find any other car that will reliably put out these power figures..
It’s loads of money for another 180bhp. I own a B7 RS4 and if I wanted more power I would just get a R35 gtr
@@buster332 makes no sense, so modifying your car even if it's a bit pricey is pointless and just get another car?
Another great review. I love my Audi V8 and with that extra power it would be crazy fast.

Great review vid! love this generation of rs4 and looking for one currently.. next time drop some credits to the tuning company which brought this beast to life! even stock requires some love to remove torgue limits on first 3 gears and work on CB issue.. for all this MRC looks like the best place to visit. cheers!

The faces he made on initial acceleration were killing me.
600 HP is great for that size and hoping the reliability factor is there, my question is the price of that supercharger and how people can afford to have it installed with the labour costs.

2008 S8 out of the box 450bhp and still an AUDI cheep as chips but your RS4 with a supercharged wow very cool and yes I have the S8 with only 50 k on the clock 👍🏻
Wow, great drive! How many miles are on that car? Was the car robust for your test? Do you know how long or how many miles the owner has had the supercharger system on? I've lusted after B7 RS4's from the beginning, and used, higher-mileage ones are within my reach.
Hey Stephen, only about 33,000 on this car. It felt fine but I have heard that they do have a tendency to go pop when they are supercharged like this... hope it won't happen to this one as it belongs to a mate!
Will probably my fav car to garage it and only take it out in Summer

Hey Mark, I loved it and it seems to work very well however I cannot compare against APR as I've not tried that set up.. also I have heard from several people that these conversions on RS4's have a tendency to go bang sooner or later.. this one is very recent so can't comment on longevity. One thing is for sure, it's bloody fast!!!

Carbon build up kills the bhp.. Was probs 420 when new bro
No they never produced the quoted 414bhp - even when new. Most were 390-400bhp. The carbon problem, throttle flaps and variable cam issues meant the 360bhp on the dyno before mods wasn't bad!
Easy cleanups with the carbon issue, even easier when you do it yourself... It's way too common with Audi's FSI

Stock transmission? Where can I buy a forged set for that gearbox?
That same 6speed Getrag was used also with 3.0tdi engines and that transmission handles 600Nm+ easily. Dual mass flywheel was and is the problem with these, it doesn't like much over 600Nm and low rpm with gears 4 and up.

Wagons sometimes look awful, but to me and a lot of other people Audi Avants are better looking than the sedans

Technical info? What supercharger? Who did the work? Regarding dyno figures. Firstly the increased torque is the really important number. This equates to shove in the seat. Secondly a rolling road dyno measures power to the wheels. Manufacturers power specs are power at the engine crankshaft. If you quote a standars RS4 as producing 400 on a rolling road dyno you need to correct at least 15% for drive train power loss at least. Four wheel drive induces even greater losses. So 400 is in crank hp at least 460 which is much more than the figure Audi quotes. 600 to the wheels with supercharger means 690 to 700hp at the crank. The 606 nm of torque to the wheels is 445 lb ft to the wheels. This is 511 lb ft at the crank which is good but not that impressive. A Porsche Gt2 produces 750 nm. A different story.

It's a shame you only used part of the rev range, and never got into the upper revs where this engine produces most of its power. One of the defining characteristics of the 4.2 V8 is that it revs to 8,250 (and possibly higher if it has been remapped). The TTS kit produces max power at 7650 rpm. However the car was short-shifted throughout the vid - extremely frustrating to watch! Didn't sound like it got past 5 or 6k.
Was that a condition of your mate lending you his car? That you wouldn't drive it properly? Perhaps let him drive it next time and video your perspectives from the passenger seat.
Dear Faisal, not sure how you can tell from the video how the car is being revved but can assure you that such is the violence of the power delivery that I hit the limiter several times on the day.. had I included those bits of video inevitably someone would have complained I'm a shit driver for hitting the limiter! The speed it gains revs really is pretty astonishing with this much power but i can assure you it was exploited on the day.

Shit engine? The 4.2l V8 is a beautiful engine, they're prone to carbon build-up though which can really limit your power output - get that looked at and you should be close to the original power again.
Can’t believe someone supercharged the shittest uk spec b7 going 😂 comfort seats multifunction wheel and it’s silver 🤦🏻♂️ nearly £15k down the pan by the time you’ve fitted it, carbon cleaned and fitted new injectors and fuel pump
