My mother had that exact coat when I was 6. I remember she looked so stylish in it at a Christmas gathering. After getting home, she realized she’d shut the belt in the door and the pavement chewed up the end. She cried. Forty two years later and I hadn’t remembered that until you got the coat. Thanks for helping me recover a memory of my gorgeous, stylish MCM mama!

I agree, our local gw is hit and miss. Never have I found anything comparable to the quality, Laura finds. Makes me want to drive to Washington, to thrift.

I LOVE the floral pitcher it’s gorgeous!
I didn’t read all the comments, so apologies if I’m repeating someone. There are guidelines for lamps and shades. The shade should be twice as wide as the lamp base, and one third of the total height of the lamp. It’s ok to have 1/2 to 1 inch of neck showing, but none of the socket should be seen below the shade.
Harps can be found in many sizes/heights including adjustable height harps. They can be easily changed out for a better fit. But as in all things design: Trust your gut. You know if you like it or if it feels “off” to you. And that’s the most important thing. I’ve been thrifting my entire life. You are so fun to watch! Thank you for the recent tutorial on shining up old brass with salt and sliced lemons. I’d heard of that before, but had never tried it. Genius!! It really worked! Thanks for many hours of fun perusing...I’m just north of you in the Seattle area.

When we bought our house my husband said don't clutter everything, it's taken over 20 years he's given up trying to declutter. Maximalist all the way. Oh and I love all my wood bits and pottery too.

I think that big brass bowl would look cool with sand in it; to put a bunch of incense sticks in it. Beautiful, plus it makes your home smell fabulous. Nag champa is my favorite incense.
The wooden vases would look fab with dried grasses in them, and no need to worry about water!

I feel the rule of thumb on lamp shades on a lamp is, if it "feels right", it's right.
The green and white Mexican bowl is called “Talavera “ pottery. I have been collecting hanging talavera sun faces for years. I hang them on my garden fence. In the cold snowy Winters, they provide much needed color. Great find!

The trick to using those wooden candlesticks without ruining them with dripping wax is using a bobeche (the glass circles that sit at the base of the candle.)
I really liked the neutral display better than the pink...it was much more calming & I like color so go figure 😊

You've really inspired me to start reselling soon. I love thrifting and actually go to the Battle Ground and Salmon Creek Goodwill's often, that's where I find my favorite things. I'll have to check out that first store tomorrow.

What a spectacular range of finds Laura! Makes me want to head over to Vancouver Washington.
I have red, green and black added into my living room decor, several brass cranes, and pictures of herons and cranes on the wall going up the stairs! I have a number of very different big lamps in my little space, but I use plain ,cream lampshades that are the same shape, and that helps unify the lighting.

The lamp shade is perfect it's sits exactly where it should sit. Everything you found is fabulous
Love your lamp/shade combo: go with what you find aesthetically appealing! If it looks off, fall back on these ¨rules of thumb¨: shade is about 2/3 the height of the base; like a slip under a dress, you never want your harp to show.

Hi Laura. I enjoyed your video. My favorites out of your many treasure finds were the Mexican painted pottery with the three legs, and the Chinese ironstone pitcher which looked great on your table with flowers.

I just love your style and the things you buy! You also do such a great job in presenting them. Thrifting is the best way to achieve a wonderful look. When I bought my house in 2019 I went to tons of thrift stores to furnish and my house is so bohemian as a result. Thanks for having your channel!!! PS: you forgot to model your 70's coat!

I loved those carved wood candlesticks. The flowered pitcher is beautiful. I thrifted a leather jacket like that but without the suede. Really everything you found was very appealing.

Laura! The brass pedestal bowl that you picked up in the beginning! I bought the same exact one at my local Goodwill for $9 last year! I lined it with press n seal and planted amaryllis in it. Love ittt!

I just started thrift shopping this year and have found some really nice items that I like! I love the fact that I don't spend too much money!

The universe always blesses you with amazing finds! I especially love the bowls you found. All of them. Gorgeous. The jug is something I'd definitely pick up as I have a collection of Masons pottery that look very much like that with those colours. I think I prefer the neutral display as it looked calmer, which has surprised me. I like neutral colours but I like a lot of things around me. I love china in any shape or form but especially if it's got flower on it. I'm such a mix of things but I think my style would be shabby chic as I like a lot of distressed white painted furniture, as well as wood, around me that I've found/thrifted and recycled. I really love your style though. I grew up in the 70's and your style really takes me back to that. Funnily enough I've got into crocheting 70's shawls as they are huge and gorgeous with their long fringes. Great finds Laura you've got an amazing eye and great taste x
