You could power this deck up a solid 33% by adding a 4th fable.
And the black read ahead saga
Solphim and Phyretic Blast would make it so you don't need the combo all in one turn

so lore-wise you summon a vampire to throw a giant frog phantom fused with an elemental avatar, killing the opposing planeswalker in the proccess.
I think it's more like you summon a vampire to radicalize your frog phantom and elemental avatar into becoming suicide bombers.
Unless you think the vampire is knee-kicking them into the Walker's face, that's right.

I think the thrill seeker is actually a really good red card in general. I got two in a draft and just dominated the games. I thought of this combo but didn't have the wildcards to make it happen. I feel like thrill seeker could have a place in a lot of different kinds of combo decks in a lot of different formats.
IT's a decent little value play that can close out a game w/ something like an Urbrask's forge token that already attacked.
Was just about to comment that it seemed legit. Just add on that being same color as Fable opens up a lot of lines with copies.
It will probably see more play after rotation when fable leaves the format
I like Thrillseeker too. I drafted it along with City on Fire twice but just never got them in my hand in the right order, but Thrillseeker performed fine on its own. The worst case of being a 3/3 that can turn into a Lightning Bolt is pretty good.
FR. I love the thrill-seeker/topiary stomper/invasion of zendikar package. Feels like you could just replace the yargles with atraxas and you've got a deck.

I hear that in my head every time Yargle hits the table.
We've become so poisoned by wordy cards that something like Voldaren Thrillseeker doesn't seem as impressive as it is.
And Yargle for that matter. Yeah it has no words but god damn it trucks. If you give it any amount of evasion it is sick. And people don't see its power because it has no words and seems dumb.
@@themakerstoolbox9688 Just look at Colossus Hammer. It only gives a P/T buff and actually _removes_ evasion. If an 11/11 is good, an 18/6 has to be alright in an even slower format.
@@themakerstoolbox9688 because its bad. Its a big dumb card that does nothing, gets blocked by a token, and needs a second card to be decent. Look at the good cards in the meta, none of them need a second card to win the game by themselves.
@@metalhev3989 There are ALOT of cards that need a second card to be good. For god sakes even Ragavan doesn't win game alone. The ramp and card advantage to get you another good card onto the battlefield is what wins the game. There are very few 1 card win cons. All Yargle needs is trample and that's a win con. Or even better a fling affect and that's game.
@@themakerstoolbox9688 uh, no. Ragavan does not need another card to be good. Its a 1 mana ramp draw a card every turn. Yargle is just a 6 mana dumb creature that does literally nothing but get blocked every turn.
I mean, do you play Gigantosaurus in your deck? Yargle isn't even that big, we had 6 mana 45/45 vanilla creatures last rotation, and nobody cared.

I was really hoping to see audacity in this deck. It's equally as hilarious to cheese someone out with audacity as it is with the thrillseeker sac.

You know, now that I think about it, Yargle is basically just modern day Phage. 18 damage is enough to kill most creatures and most players and it doesn't even have the anti cheat downside.
Eh, phage doesn't care if that guy w/ the Lifegain deck has over 300 life.
@@HomeCookinMTG Yeah but that is a specific border case, and even then the decks that gain 300 life usually kill you earlier with a sanguine bond/exquisite blood (or equivalent) combo or run you down with 4/4 flyer angels and anthems like righteous valkyrie anyway
@@cris5555 300 life was hyperbole, but I was more referring to standard, where my point is that I think there is enough life gain in the format that hitting yargle and multani isn't a guaranteed win, where phage would be.
Another card that might be decent in this build is Zopandrel, Hunger Dominus. Doubles the power of your creatures before combat!

Thrillseeker is just the most flexible lava axe ever, and it's been great every time I've played it.

As Alex Steacy of LoadingReadyRun would say: Jund 'em out! This deck seems like a damn good Jund midrange deck that also happens to have a silly Yargtani combo, and yet that combo turned out to be way more viable than it looks.
Yargle and Multani has keyword: Big, and apparently that counts for something. Even if it's just The Abyss, well, that's something.
Super sweet deck, my only nitpick would be @29:42 I'm pretty sure the double fling of harvester and stomper would have been lethal since the vamps themselves would finish off. But dang the Yargle flings are so sweet. I might spend the wildcards on this just because

I think I found a way to make invasion of alara compete with grixis. It runs off of invasion of alara as cascade spell, but also gets to flip it most games. The main finisher for the deck is moonveil regent because with invasion of alara in the deck, we get both five damage when regent dies, and a change to wheel your hand for free drawing five cards. It becomes very risky to kill regent with alara on the battlefield because it can shoot down alara. You should try it, maybe for against the odds.
This combo was extremely cool, pulling it off in draft is also super funny

This is why ive made an EDH deck with Yultani as my commander. Sacing, flinging and pulverising are the order of the day.
Ive been playing a similar deck with ziatora the incinerator and solphim mayhem dominus. 36 damage at the face whenever i get them out. but I had no idea that voldaren thrillseeker existed very intriguing

I built a deck like this too, however it's a mono red yargle fling with indomitable creativity. way funnier to kill them on turn 5 from nowhere. would love to see you try my deck

I've done fling strats before, but none this silly. It's never the same without a resounding "YEET" to accentuate the 26 damage to the dome.

It's now a set behind, but when Phyrexia: All Will Be One came out, I made a 20 damage to the face deck with The Filigree Sylex and Solphim, Mayhem Dominus. I hope that inspires you to make a janky oil deck like mine!

Yargle is the exception that proves the rule that vanilla creatures aren't really that good.
It's playable, but in order to do that it's an 18/6 which is pretty much a 1 turn clock.
Today I noticed the lands you use in the deck tech explanation don't match the lands in the assembled deck. How long have these shenanigans been going on beneath my notice?!

while you are flinging things, try using Balduvian Bersrker to copy another creatures power. then when you fling it to do damage it will also deal damage on its own. potential triple if it was unblocked.

I do not think that Elesh Norn should have a trigger if you hit a battle that player is defending as the caster of the battle is still the controller and Elesh Norn specifically says "you or a permanent you control".

Exactly. I made my Yargle & Multani commander deck, and add a Psychosis Crawler in there, and sickening dreams and you just eliminate the board along with Jarad. It's a good time.
One day standard will rotate and Seth will build a 56 card deck and cry because he’ll realize that he’ll never have Reckoner Bankbuster again
Honestly I can't wait for Bankbuster and Fable to rotate, I'm tired of feeling like I have to play them to keep up with everyone else.
I’m now using Yargle and Kenrith in historic Izzet Creativity so I can actually kill people with combat.
I wonder if running Solphim instead of Yargle makes this more competitive. Shores up the midgame a bit better and turns Topiary flings into 12 damage, plus random indestructible upside.

Has anyone tried using Pyrrhic Blast in this deck? It’s not as good as thrillseeker, as it doesn’t give counters, but it also cost 4, is an instant, and replaces itself in your hand.
Why is tribute to world tree uncastable in a two color deck in a standard where invoke despair is played in 3+ colors?

I think people are really underestimating this Yargle, like yeah a 5 mana 9/3 is a meme but a 6 mana 18/6 is a legit threat. Even without the combo, and it's really not that hard to cast since you have access to green.

First time watching this channel. Gotta say, love the idea of Yargle time but goodness me what did he say in the intro? Just the first like 2 minutes were in this announcer voice that I literally cannot understand
It took me WAY to long to understand how the thrillseeker worked.
I was like, HOW is thrillseeker able to toss a critter at someone like that. Even though the backup ability says other creature gains that ability.
Just not seeing the words on the cards sometimes. Also not used to the 'backup' ability.
