I run a commander deck where this is the main strategy, except with equipment. Bladehold War-Whip reduces equips by 1, no restrictions, and the commander Astor, Bearer of Blades makes all equip costs a flat 1. Control both? Equip 0! I think this gonna be wild!
1:10 there are other effects that can reduce mana spent for abilities to zero, but they usually have a much harsher restriction than just being on a card type. Reducing Equip abilities generic cost by an amount all the way down to 0 is actually relatively common now. Blossoming Tortoise was definitely the most hype thing I pulled from my pre-release packs for Eldraine. Ever since I drafted MoM back in like June, I've had this plan for a Yedora, Grave Gardener commander deck in mind, just endlessly reviving an army of trees to beat down the opponent with a board that is incredibly sticky and hard to remove. Blossoming Tortoise took that idea from a "Maybe I'll build this" to a "I'm definitely doing this now" very quickly. Even now, it's actually doing some work in my Sarulf, Realm Eater deck, because that one relies so much on utility and creature lands in the late-game, when most of my other gameplans are removed, either by my opponent's interaction or my own Sarulf-triggers.
WotC never gets Reach right. So many creatures have it that shouldn't. And a card literally called SKY Turtle as evidenced by this video doesn't have Reach?! Insane
Abour the sac deck idea: Maybe a jund sac based deck Because rakdos does have some good artifact sac outlete, and golgari is the color of food tokens. + syr ginger and teething wyrmlet. Similar to the deck you played in early access but color shifted
I would love to see a brew with the Food Fight enchantment. It sounds very hard to do, but I think the card is really funny and want to see if it would be playable at all

The new cycle of creature lands is so nice. This is one of those combos that's probably better in paper than on Arena, though, just because you don't have to click so much. Which feels like a pretty common problem with comboing on Arena... After watching this... I wonder if Temur Miracle Grow could work in Standard? We have a Quirion Dryad, after all...
I know it probably doesn't matter much but I feel like the dimir sword is better here just because those are the two most popular/powerful colors in standard. It's not as useful as the gruul sword (although both are pretty bad tbh) but I feel like the protection from black removal might be worth more than the ramp
Would it be too much to ask of Wizards to add the feature into Arena where once you've demonstrated a loop for the game to ask you how many times you'd like to repeat the loop, and then do it for you? So many of these combos on Arena are no fun to watch because it takes so long to repeat the loop.

Faeries is UB tempo, sheoldred kind of fits right in at the top of it's curve. It being one non fairy creature in the faerie deck doesn't make it overpowered. The zombie deck way back in innistrad standard played phyrexian obliterator and that's not a zombie lol.
One of the rare times I disagree with Seth, for sure. Sheoldred is definitely overpowered and everyone is sick of her, for sure. But playing power cards in a tribal deck has always been a thing tbh.
That one Sam with partner reduces Food abilities by 1 without the “can’t be reduced below 1” restriction but it isn’t standard or modern legal and too jank for Legacy

I would use 8x protection tamyo safe and tyvar, remove screev too slow, put 4x 3 removal, so you have Turtle x 4 Draconic x 4 Tutor of draconic x 4 Tutor of turtle x 4 8x protection 12 x removal 24 x lands
If you lose to sheoldred repeatedly, try increasing the amount of removal and interaction you run. She's not scary if she never hits the board or dies before anyone can draw a card
Used to say the same thing about Fable of the Mirror Breaker before it's ban... that said even if Sheoldred in my opinion is the scarier of the two you can deal with it.

There's not really another Faerie that's worth playing in the slot that Sheoldred occupies, and she does have synergy with Faerie Mastermind, so she's not entirely out of place in the deck anyway. If you ask the question "If Sheoldred were banned, what would Faeries run instead of her," I don't think the answer is actually another Faerie, because it's already running all the ones worth running. The tribal payoffs aren't even that great, especially if you're thinking about the 4-drop slot. Getting your Make Disappear to be a Mana Leak or better is a good argument for low cost faeries, as is getting a pain-free thoughtsieze, and there's incidental value with Obyra, but Talion's Messenger is the only "real" payoff for running a bunch of Faeries, and even that is basically just a watered down Raffine in 2 colors. All of the Faerie support cards only care about having a single Faerie in play, rather than going wide with them, since there's no Lord effect for them in Standard. Spellsworn Coven is MAYBE a consideration for that 4-drop slot, but at that point you might as well just jam Archfiend of Dross in place of Sheoldred if she were banned, because aside from the 3 Talion, there's not really anything that you actively want to run in that slot.

okay, this is a neat looking deck. but im kinda sad that all the opponts just conceded, instead of getting hit by a giant land. but then again, if you have a paper standar scene, then you can just say "i pump by like a milion." and you oppont can then take it, compared to areana where you have to activate it each individual times.
