I have an enchantment build of Alela focused on pumping up the tokens. I put hero of Dominaria in because faerie tribal... and it's a well rounded card.
Same. Went Alela enchantments over alela artifacts. I do love telling them they have to pay 11 to swing once a couple prison affects are in place, or bouncing their purphoros back to hand with a dispensation field

Thanks for creating this. I've been running Alela since October and I go with playing artifact flyers. So when I play an flying artifact, I get a faerie. It gets busted with Thopter token generators and you just flood the board quickly. I'll give this build a go.
🤔, made a deck with her. But used a combo of artifacts and flyers. My favorite addition(non budget) is panharmonicon, workshop elders and baleful strix.

I've seen Anthem tribal with her, and it got out of hand very quickly. Dude had "anointed procession" and "mirror made" out so he'd get 4 creatures per cast. He had a few anthems out, so they were all like 6/5's or something ridiculous like that. Then he brought out "eldrazi monument"... it was game over at that point.
I basically built this deck but with Kykar as the commander and with multiple combos as finishers. Built it as a token/anthem deck first but it wasn't that good. I recognized so many cool cards from my first build in this list so that was a cool throwback.
One card I really like is Gravity Shift. Not an artifact, but gives a huge boost to your fliers, and neuters most creature attacks. Archetype of Imagination works, too, since it will trigger Alela and force your opponents to not have fliers!
A suggestion for the upgraded list. You've got that artifact that draws a card per creature you control. That's a ton of card draw already so it's totally worth checking out Laboratory Maniac for the deck. I put it in mine, and it works wonders!
favorable winds and intangible virtue could help out the tokens when the commander is not around. they are enchantments so they can make their own faerie to support.
Really wish the faerie tribal commander wasn’t actually an artifact commander. I love artifacts but is it crazy to want to make good use of all these faerie cards in a faerie deck?
This is the first time that I actually have a deck built around a commander before he has talked about it. I'm interested to see what you decide to do with this build.
Shimmer myr is a great upgrade for this deck. Being able to storm off on the end step before your turn and then have a bunch of flyers to attack with us magical.
i added in some control enchantments as well, blind obedience works well at leaving opponents open to attacks and slowing down ramp. plus, it will get you another token off an alela trigger
I made an Alela Enchantment Trickery deck that is all about buffing flyers, creating 4/3 or better faeries like crazy - fair amount of steal-your-stuff...I got a little sad when you said this was going to be an Artifact build, but I get it!
alela , a flying deathtouch and lifelink commander thats also a board advantage engine! sign me up. aside from that i've been running alela for awhile and have an artifact abuse deck with anthems splashed in, of course with the hilarious enter the infinite/omnipotence combo to make a veritably endless army of 5/5 ish fairies that can whack everyone

Same, All the Glitters is a great option with a deck like this to let your commander swing for lethal damage out of nowhere. I love that card. Buti dont imagine its the budget that kept that card out. It's not more than a $ .50 card.

@@elil7945Uro is bad in respect that it does the same thing as every other simic commander but have to go through extra hoops to get value. Also chulane is better than Oro for the specific fact that you can use any creatures some of which can self bounce and you have white the best removal colour added in. Still rakdos titan is cool as it does something a lot better than rakdos could do before and much more efficiently.
Eli L obviously that deck was for shits and giggles. Like when you see a commander that is so bad like riven turnbull and try to make a deck on him that is not complete jank. Uro is ok but not amazing, Tatyova is almost undoubtedly a better land matters commander. For pure value goodstuff Rashmi is definitely, definitely better. If you can make infinite mana he’s pretty strong, but then you might as well play thrasios partnered with literally anyone else. But I love greek mythology and if Uro was cheaper I would probably make a deck on him anyways. Even then Uro is one-upped since kroxa is way cheaper, same flavor, and with worldgorger combo as powerful if not more. But if you like simic and greek mythology he’s pretty damn cool nonetheless.
Hey Mitch is there a way for you to explain why the reasonable upgrades are better? I feel this was done before, but I feel the reasoning would be better that just speeding through them.
Great deck tech, i went the other way and did enchantments that return to hand and constellation effects. Same idea though make fairies buff fairies smash face
Really liked Alela when arena had the brawl decks added. Interesting to go a more Artifact heavy route, but makes sense given how fragile auras can be in comparison.
i built a flying tribal/infect deck with Alela i have artifacts/equipment/totem armor for myself untap and don't untap enchantments for my opponents and other de-buffing enchantments for them as well
I feel like someones watching me. I just built Inala and Alela a little over a month ago and then these videos come out back to back in that order. Really creepy, but also Awesome Thank you for the ideas! Im still a bit of a novice, it never dawned on me to swap draw spells for draw artifacts. Super excited for Commander night.
Overall, I think this is a pretty solid value engine for Alela and could do a lot a work (especially at $50), but will fold to targeted removal and will struggle to deal with other threats on the board. The good: I like the Paradoxical Outcome tech with free/cheap artifacts. I like how half the cards in this deck draw you a card and get you a faerie for almost free or free. It doesn't feel like this deck will run out of gas without being heavily hosed / targeted. Lots of interesting cards that I haven't seen used before. Tons of good ramp in colors that can struggle with that, seems there won't be much issue curving into turn 3 Alela, which is very significant. The bad: I feel like the deck is critically low on interaction/removal, especially in Esper which has access to the best of these things around. Swords/Path, anguished unmaking, utter end, counter magic, dismember, murder, etc etc. Stony Silence effects and board wipes that hit artifacts will take this deck out of the game entirely, and I think this build fails to deal with those threats. In my experience playing Alela, decks built around her will do nothing while she isn't out -- I am uncertain if it's better to spend cards trying to protect her (swiftfoot boots, hyena umbra, gift of immortality), counter magic for the removal, or to ramp into oblivion and keep recasting her. I think the latter can work but is very vulnerable to board wipes that hit artifacts (austere command, etc). Counter magic can work but you need more of it than this deck can reasonably slot to do anything but protect your board. I've found that protection via Totem Armor / Hexproof works pretty well as deterrent. First strike on a deathtouch creature is also quite nice and will regularly deter creature heavy decks from attacking you. Sorry for the essay, Alela is one of my favorite commanders and I have struggled to make her work as I'd like, so I have thought about this deck a lot.
I forgot to mention a few not-so-budget upgrades I thought might be worth considering. Sun Titan/Emry to recur artifacts, Annointed Procession for double tokens, and Sol Ring because how could you not run Sol Ring in this deck!?

Budget infinite Faeries combo. With Alela on the field Zephyr Scribe + Refraction Helix + any 0 drop artifact (or any artifact discounted to 0). endless Faeries, and if you are using a discounted mana rock, infinite mana
Tidespout Tyrant with a cost reducer and alela makes infinite Faeries :). Ex: Alela, tyrant, 1cmc artifact and cost reducer on the field. Cast a 1cmc artifact, Tyrant triggers and return the first artifact to hand. Alela triggers and makes a token. The casted artifact resolves. Due to cost reducer, cast for free the artifact you returned to your hand and go on making infinite tokens
Surprised to see that grand architect was not mentioned at all given that it both pumps your blue faeries and allows you to tap them for 2 colourless to pay for your artifacts basically negating the need for any cost reducers as each artifact will create a fairy to pay for the next 2 mana artifact.
Surprised tidesprout tyrant was not mentioned even as a upgrade it easily go infinite, for tokens if you reduce your artifacts enough that they cost nothing can win you the game then all you need is a free sac outlet and a aristocrat like card and can let you drain everyone to death as it's still retry budget. :)
Just want to say that the biggest flaw I see with this deck is anything that can give your faries -x/-1, specifically enchantments or Elesh Norn. I didn't see any enchantment removal and a card like Illness in the Ranks would be brutal to face
i love playing my alela deck, i play a tond of 0-1-2 cost artifacts and my golden pig is Jhoria's famililar that makes almost 1/3rd of my deck cost 0 and half of it 1 or less good to know about the reducers i need t oadd tho, oh yeesh i actually do like alot of the deck my favorite actually, rebuild cna be game ending its amazing
I kinda want to do an Alela all-stars type deal with other legendary artifact creatures and enchantment creatures within her colors. Windreader Sphinx, Emry (Lurker of the Loch), Sphinx Summoner, The Antiquities War, Animating Faerie, Helm of the Host, Workshop Elders, Rona (Disciple of Gix), Massacre Girl, Dictate of Erebos, Gravepact... should be subject to change, my list will probably be a bit too similar to my Rona (Disciple of Gix) toolbox EDH.
Hi! I just recently got into magic and I’m planning on making a Trostani Discordant deck based on the $25 one you made a video on. I pulled Ashiok with the alternate art in the bundle I got last weekend and I really want to make a commander deck with them, but I don’t know which commander would be cheapest to make a deck with and that would synergize well with Ashiok. Also, since I’m a newer player I’d prefer that they aren’t too complicated. Would you be willing to give me advice on this? Thanks!
I like the whole "eggs" style artifact theme, but I'm a little disappointed that there aren't any sort of second-sunrise effects (maybe too derivative?). Without piloting the deck, I have a feeling that it has a decent chance of running out of gas due to most of the draw spells being cantrips. Maybe I'd feel better if the deck had the diabolic tutor/razz's rite package so you can more consistently get your recall effects to abuse and reload once you have a hand full of lands.

Interesting build! I like how it differs from the Bosh one while still being artifact-focused. Do you think enchantments need more love in mtg (or at least, commander)? I feel like artifacts-matter decks are very popular, while enchantment focused decks tend to fall to the wayside. Then again, I'm something of a noob; feel free to let me know if I'm off base!

This is just like your 25.00 Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain deck from 1 year ago. You could swap commanders and they would play similar in either shell.

Great content as always! Mystic forge is great in an artifact build like this. Let's you build a big storm without having to have draw engines online.

i love playing my alela deck, i play a tond of 0-1-2 cost artifacts and my golden pig is Jhoria's famililar that makes almost 1/3rd of my deck cost 0 and half of it 1 or less good to know about the reducers i need t oadd tho, oh yeesh i actually do like alot of the deck my favorite actually, rebuild cna be game ending its amazing
I kinda want to do an Alela all-stars type deal with other legendary artifact creatures and enchantment creatures within her colors.
Windreader Sphinx, Emry (Lurker of the Loch), Sphinx Summoner, The Antiquities War, Animating Faerie, Helm of the Host, Workshop Elders, Rona (Disciple of Gix), Massacre Girl, Dictate of Erebos, Gravepact... should be subject to change, my list will probably be a bit too similar to my Rona (Disciple of Gix) toolbox EDH.
My childhood big beaters can come in here: Broodstar and Vedalken archmage. Maybe change my Alela to be artifact.
Hi! I just recently got into magic and I’m planning on making a Trostani Discordant deck based on the $25 one you made a video on. I pulled Ashiok with the alternate art in the bundle I got last weekend and I really want to make a commander deck with them, but I don’t know which commander would be cheapest to make a deck with and that would synergize well with Ashiok. Also, since I’m a newer player I’d prefer that they aren’t too complicated. Would you be willing to give me advice on this? Thanks!

I like the whole "eggs" style artifact theme, but I'm a little disappointed that there aren't any sort of second-sunrise effects (maybe too derivative?). Without piloting the deck, I have a feeling that it has a decent chance of running out of gas due to most of the draw spells being cantrips. Maybe I'd feel better if the deck had the diabolic tutor/razz's rite package so you can more consistently get your recall effects to abuse and reload once you have a hand full of lands.

Do you think enchantments need more love in mtg (or at least, commander)? I feel like artifacts-matter decks are very popular, while enchantment focused decks tend to fall to the wayside.
Then again, I'm something of a noob; feel free to let me know if I'm off base!
