Love the review, I can always count on Debo to give his unbiased opinions. He gives his likes AND his dislikes, something that many TH-cam channels avoid.
I have a Curado K, and I imported a Scorpion MGL from Japan. They're basically the same reel except the Scorpion has an MGL spool. I ordered a replacement Scorpion MGL spool and put it in my Curado K. The spools do make them easier to tame, but even with the MGL spools they're not great at throwing lightweight baits, and with fluoro spooled on you have to use your spool tensioner pretty tight. With straight braid you can get away with some side to side play. Sounds like this new model is the exact same way. They're excellent value, but if you're looking to throw jerkbaits or something that can catch the wind, you're barking up the wrong tree. I personally use mine for stuff 3/8th and above. If you're looking for a reel for lighter baits or stuff like spinnerbaits and chatterbaits, you're better off with an SLX DC if you're on a budget, or importing a Scorpion DC from Japan if you want to stay with Shimano. Daiwa reels with the magnetic brakes are good, but until ya get up to the Zillion, they don't feel as smooth.
I have the Curado K 200 and love that reel. Thanks for the review so my next reel purchase maybe the upgrade to the M. Glad to see you back doing reel reviews!
I own about 20 curados, but I slowed down on my buying the past few years. My 201E7's are my favorites. I much prefer the old VBS brakes where you had to open it up to adjust. Less finicky. I put carbontex and boca lightnings on them. Killer! I also own a few 201BSF's and a few K's. All great reels! Great review! I might get one if I find a good deal.
I love the gear reviews. I'd love to see Debo with a functional phone lol. I don't actually have any specific gear I'd like to see reviewed, I just enjoy them all.
Cleanest reel reviews out there man! I will say I have the curado K and it took me less than 5 minutes to get it dialed in and I love the thing. I just purchased the newer SLX A and that’s a dream BUT I took it out during a windier day and that took me about 10 backlashes back to back to figure out before I got it just right now sure if the slight improvements in it take a little more adjusting I don’t think it’s an mgl spooo but I found that a little interesting
Great review on the Curado reels. I am a Shimano guy and I agree with everything you said! I would like to see you go over the Corado's and some on the water with them!
Always gotta love a good gear review! I actually kinda like the idea of a SMALLER sized heavy duty reel. A lot of times when it becomes a flipping/punching deal, it can be an all day affair. Looks like a sweet reel though!
Love the Curado-Bantams, E series, and the K. You pointed out that the M has a larger overall profile, should be good for smaller glidebaits and swimbaits. I’ll pick one up eventually👍🏻🤙🏻Always dig the gear reviews
Agree with everything you said and I have both Shimano and Diawa. I love my Curado K’s and my new Zillions. The Shimano are just bulletproof and you can use them for anything
Thanks for the Gear review Debo. I’ve been looking at the Bates Hundo baitcaster. Think you may review one of those? They seem to be a little pricey. Hope family and you have a nice week.
I switched and stayed with Shimano because it’s the only reel I have found that after an annual service, it feels as good as new. My only complaint is with the drag wearing out and would love to see a video on replacing/ repairing this. Thanks for the excellent vids.
I love my Shimanos. I have 6 of the curado k and have slowly been upgrading I picked up a used 2016 metanium and 2017 aldebarran and love them both. Now I just got a chronarch and a curado 70 . I want to get a new bantam next then if I get a second job I will buy some new metaniums LOL.
I would love to get my hands on a DC or any of the Curado reels Ill put it on my Birthday Wish list and see what happens! I do love these videos next i would love to see rod and reel combos at the price points of the low, med, and high.
I’ve got over a dozen Curados and I still use my green e2007’s and all of them, and I have really come to love the 150 MGL’s although I don’t have the DC. 90% of my reels are Shimano since the 70’s, but if I could afford them my Bantam and Metanium are super fun to use 😂😂 great review and I like how you went through the Curado lineup they really are exceptional reels 💯🍀🎣🍀
@@DEBOSFishing I have 2 from the first release that my brother gave me for my birthday, e2007 and e2005 plus 6 others that I bought myself. So glad you appreciate your’s🍀🎣🍀😜
Good review I used to have all the high end curados but I changed to lews now I have 5 Lew's elite ti baitcasters I know there expensive but I find them to be the smoother anyways have a great one
Great review Debo. I have the Curado MGL 150 on the new Curado rod. Only used it once so far, but it's pretty sweet too. I appreciate you doing these reviews. It definitely helps to see, and hear what's good and what's not good. ✌️😎🎣
Great review Debo. I’m with you on preferring Daiwa brakes. I did pick up the new bantam recently and the 6 brake svs seems to make a big difference compared to the 4. Very nice reel.
Getting one soon! I liked the SLX 150 I got and for 99$ that’s a awesome reel. LEWS can kick rocks! 😅. But I’ve been wanting the 200 k now but I’m going to go ahead and get the 200 m. Should I just need to the 200 k instead? Or just jump in and get the M? Thanks man love the channel! God bless.
For the 200 M vs the MGL 150, which one should I get if I want the most versatile one. One that can pitch and flip, skip, cast heavy jigs/swimbaits, as well lighter jigs, lighter Texas rigs, smaller spinnerbaits, small crank baits.
I have the curado k that a friend gave me. Now I have 3 shimano baitcasters I just got a curado mgl 150 and a jdm slx dc xt. And looking at ordering a scorpion md 200 from japan
I’d like to see how you rank all the Curados from best to worst. The old original tomato colored Curados you don’t see much anymore. You see a lot more of the used green B models for sale. I have a D, E and K.
What's the story with the 300 sizes? Do they usually update those less often? Thinking of getting a Curado K or a Tranx. Another one they seem in no hurry to update. Perhaps they will discontinue them completely. I've no need for the latest and greatest. Just wondering how often they usually update the bigger reels.
Other than size between the 150 MGL and the curado M is there anything the Curado M can’t do that the 150 can? I’m interested in either or but I want to make sure that if I decide with the M that I can do everything especially with that MGL III spool
Got this one and a Tatula 300 TWS for my pike rods, 201M(low geared) for my jerkbait rod, 1-3oz casting weight Zilla Pike 6'4" rod and the Tatula 300 on a SG2 Power 7'3" ~2-4,5oz rod for the heavier baits, as I'm a bank fisherman so far, no need to throw heavy then, my best catcher weighs 2,3oz. Don see much on the tube about pike fishing with these reels, guess bass is a larger "sport". Here in Sweden pike is the no1 fished species. Really really fun and som seriously aggressive takes so shame to not see more about it from the USA/Canada area. Anyway, lovely reel this!! But, Tat's mag brakes are better, you can throw almost how bad as you wish and still no PO. Curado, is finickier and requires very good casting skills to get the bait out far. Together, they compliment each other nicely.
Nope, that's thr Curado D. The 200 is the size. HSV I think was the 7 speed. Those were from like 2005 ish I think. Still a great reel, I have the 100 size!
Looks like my wallet is about to get a bit lighter!!! Any thoughts on how the Curado M compares to the Chronarch MGL (besides price)? Love the gear reviews, thanks!
Which reel would you recommend for shallow to mid crank baits? Was looking at the K since it comes in a 5:1 gear ratio but I’m torn between the K, M, Bantam, Tranx or another Scorpion Dc in a 6:2 ratio. The only Shimano I own is the 21’ Scorpion DC in a 7:4 ratio, using it for my jigs and Texas rig, I absolutely love it. The infinity drive on the Bantam seems like it would be good for deep cranking and swim baits, leaning towards it, maybe then I could get by with a faster ratio 🤷🏻♂️
Well if you're doing shallow to mid, I'd go with the 150. Deeper long casts may want a larger reel. But I'm guessing you're not going over 15lb line so the 150 in a 6 speed would be money!
Thx for the review. I'll pass on the Curado M for bass fishing. Way too big. I'll rather get the Curado151 MGL instead(lightest Curado at 6.5oz) to go with the Scorpion DCs, 71 MGLs and Metaniums I have. I use the 200 K for Pike and Musky because it balances heavier rods better. Always balance your reel with your rod.
The SLX I had stolen was the smoothest Reel I have ever used and I haven’t used a whole lot but it was smoother than the LFS and the 13 Inception SZ I had also. The 13 SZ was right beside the Shimano though. It looks like a Caster my friend and VERY Frog friendly. I want to get a little MGL 70 next after your recommendation and review. Stay safe my Friend Semper Fidelis
I had a curado k and I hated it, was so finnicky. owned many slx, mgl, jdm dc, lews, daiwas etc by far the curado was my least favorite reel ive owned and near most expensive. hope this one has some improvements
I would love to havd a curado m but would be happy with a curado k but... unfortunately my funds have gotten super tight and i cant afford one 🤷♂️. Awesome to see a great review and comparison though. Thabks debo 👍👍.
I think it looks decent. I would rather have a rerelease of the Curado D or E. I probably wont be getting one. Don’t care for micro module gears. Let us know what the finish looks like after 10-15 trips.
Gear!! I love the gear reviews. Especially as we approach the sale season. Thanks again for all of the hard work you put into these videos!

That looks like a real winner there, and very versatile in how you may want to use it. I really like your gear reviews.
I'd swap almost any of my reels for another MGL so I imagine this one is just as nice. Good stuff my dude.
Nicely done Debo. Always enjoy your gear review videos! 👍

Great review! Thank You😊
Can you do a cast off see who can cast further
great swimbait reel for anything under 6 ozs.
Besides the spool, I see nothing worth buying a new reel. But I'll watch debo reviews any time.
helppp , vs curado mgl who cast farther on 14gm 🙌
How do you like the zodias rods? I’ve got 5 and love them. 2 med heavy 1 med 1 heavy and a med spinning covers all of my fishing.
That's my first one and it's really nice thus far!

Love My Shimano Curado 300 is Awesome! Reel No Problem at All
If you are using heavy 65# braid, would you go with the Curado M or the larger Curado 300 K?
Is a 200 too big for my first do all baitcaster? Keeping in mind I have multiple 2500 spinning Rees already
They contoured the top so it’s more comfortable for your thumb compared to the k model.
As far as breaking systems you need to try a 13 fishing reel.
Got a lot of them and the new brakes were a downgrade imo. Hard to dial in but once you get it they are really nice reels!
So, does the new MGL spool fit anywhere else?
Just missing the Curado BFS in your collection 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hey would you suggest curado m or revo5 sx
