  • How to use the piano pedal? Beginners Tutorial
Many students are confused about how to use the pedal, namely timing the changing of pedal accurately so that the music flows smoothly. When the pedal is changed too quickly, it resulting in awkward 'breaks' in the music. When the pedal is changed too late or not changed at all, it results in messy soundscapes due to the clash of non-harmonic notes.
In this video, I teach you exactly how to use the pedal and provide ample examples so you can watch how it's done and learn from it. I hope it helps you out!

Not sure this is totally correct but it is a little like feeling the music and using the pedal. This video help me to understand more about how to use the piano pedal.

This was so helpful and this was explained so easily, thank you so much! Also I had a question. For river flows in you, are you meant to push down on the pedal all the way down? I still feel like the sound is still a little bit too stretched out. Or maybe I am just playing to slowly or something?

Bruh, before I know this, I just press down the damper pedal the whole time while playing a song. I tried every one of them and found that the damper makes the most difference, as it stretches the sound longer. I thought it sounded more emotional and enhances my playing so that’s what I did.💀 I didn’t really hear much of a difference when I tried the other 2 pedals and I just left them alone. (I’m not experienced) Btw, what are the other 2 pedals for?

It is about frequencies, if you hold too long then frequncies gets mixed. So you have to press it on every bar. But of course, the length of bar changes. So it is up to you to understand if the bar has changed or if it is just the continuation of the previous bar.
