- If you're lucky, you can still get coins from the bank. And if you're really lucky, you'll find something old in a roll. But once in a blue moon, when you're SUPER LUCKY you'll find a roll that is incredible. In this hunt, every single coin in this roll was an Oldie!!

Probably the wildest thing I found searching coins was not found in a roll but a large jar. A friend was paying off a bet they lost and decided to pay their $50 debt in all cents. Within that jar is where I found my 1914 D wheat cent. They thought they were being a pain but they ended up multiplying my winnings.
Wow! Incredible find!
Great wheat penny roll find. Thanks for sharing. Thanks also for the tremendous shout out. I'm glad you received the coins.
Thanks again! I was excited to get the full set for my album!
I can't even find a full roll of wheat pennies here in the U.S!
I think I may have to have you start picking up my coins for me HAHA!
GREAT VIDEO!
Lol! Well, I might never find another one like this, but hey, you never know!
@@CADRollHunter Yes very true. I find I definitely do much better with customer wrap rolls than with bank wrapped rolls. But the bank wrapped coins are purely random too so there's that. But I have actually found that all my solid silver rolls of half dollars were always customer wrapped every time and I've done that like 4 or 5 times so far so I have to favor the customer wraps. GREAT SCORE my friend!
Hit my first collection dump this week, 120 nickle from 1960 to 1964 Nothing exceptional but still very happy. Two of the 1962 as the double 2. Also found my first 2023 king Charles dimes, two of them plus a 1964 silver. Thank you and happy hunting to all viewers.
That's a great score! Thanks for sharing!! Good luck in your future hunts.
Number please
I can't believe that you got an entire roll of old coins, which is pretty insane
I know, it's pretty awesome, eh?! You just never know what you might find!!
On April 25th I had a first! I actually found a silver quarter in the "wild"! It was a 1943!
Sweet! And an oldie, too! Congrats, Steve!
SUPER LUCKY doesn't give the roll justice, James! I am collecting US coins in the wrong country!
Yes! You might need to take a trip north to see how you can do!!
What a wicked roll! So very awesome. The diamond in the rough, the needle in the haystack. My best hunt was getting 7 silver dimes in a box of dime roll hunting.
I'd take a 7 silver dime box any day of the week!!
Amazing US wheat cents finds especially in Canada. You lucked out for sure. Someone may have had a richer taste for their wheat cents and decided to dump the ones you came across. After I search bulk lots of wheats, some end up going back out into circulation because they may have scratches, spots, worn, or simply because I don't want to hold onto more of the 40s & 50s era coins. Similar thing has happened to me with not only wheat cents but with US buffalo nickels and Canada 5 Cents coins. I came across lots of 1922-1936 KGV 5 Cents. Most of the dates ended up filling my album with the exception of 1925. I'm still missing that date. Love finding clipped planchets. Congrats on that 1925 wheat cent! It looks to be in great condition.
Thanks so much! The 1925 is the toughest date, but I have a feeling you'll get one eventually! Persistence pays off!
@@CADRollHunter Yes, persistence will eventually pay off. I just so happen to come across an opportunity last Wednesday at my LCS. The shop owner's wife mentioned she had about 20 rolls of Canadian 5 Cents that were part of a buy from a person selling their collection to them. She asked If I wanted them. Of course, I said "YES". So next week, she is bringing them in for me. Can't wait to see what dates are inside those rolls...fingers crossed there are early dates, maybe the 1925? Hoping for the best. Take care @CADRollHunter
@@OgirCoins Well, that would be simply awesome! Fingers crossed!
Way to go! That's awesome.
Something very similar happened to me at my bank recently...the teller handed me 3 rolls of pennies: 1 was all Wheaties, and the other 2 contained every single year of Canadian pennies from 1920 - 1964, plus a 1943 tombac nickel mixed in!
Wow! Someone's full collection rolled up. Incredible!
@@CADRollHunter And congrats with the clipped planchet!
Wow. Now that awesome.
What a nice present to get in your coin rolls. Awesome
Thanks, Tom!
nice Blaksley effect on the clipped cent
That's my favourite find of the hunt, for sure! A first for me!
The craziest thing I've ever found in a roll of coins happened last month. I opened a roll of dimes that had six Mercury dimes and one silver Roosevelt dime!
Edit: Actually, that might be the second craziest thing. The most insane find I had was four rolls of 40% silver half dollars last August.
Oh wow! Those are both amazing finds! That's awesome!
Nice score! I've never found a coin over 100 years old in circulation. I found a 1916 in 2013. So close but no cigar.
I managed to score $20 worth of pennies today. Lots look older. I hope I get something half as cool as a 1909
I'm sure you'll find one sooner or later. I imagine it's easier in the States since wheat cents still generally circulate in some volume. KGV coins are extremely scarce in circulation, of course.
@@CADRollHunter I tied my record. A 1927 wheatie. Again only 97 years old. Nothing else all that cool other than a really nice BU '78 high 8 Canadian. So that's a $10 score according to the Charlton.
My best cent find was when I was going through a bunch of coins at a flea market (same occassion as that blacksmith token actually) and among them I found a random 1912-D, the rarest date aside from keys/semi keys. I paid ~35 cents for it and even though it was very worn and cleaned I was able to trade it for a 1906-D Barber half :)
What a great find for cheap!! Thanks for sharing that story!
Aww sweet gift. The pennies wow. I'm glad a bank told old you about them.
I know my local bank has more pennies. Now need to get there and buy them..lol I did buy 10 dollars worth last time. Had 2 old 61s dimes in 2 rolls.
Wow I'm really happy these landed in your lap. What shame to be sitting there.
I'm glad I could rescue these oldies from possibly being melted down. That woul have been a real shame. Always nice to find old dimes in penny rolls! Good luck with the your next rolls of pennies!
Wow! awesome find! And what a hunt!
Thanks, Emanuel. I was excited as soon as I saw that plastic tube - even before I knew what was inside!
Your lucky, congrats, i just picked up a bunch of 1 cent coins today. 2 years i got a full box of Mountie Quarters Cheers!
Good luck with your pennies!
@@CADRollHunter Thanks!
Awesome video my friend
Thanks so much!!
Someone accidentally cashed in a roll they shouldn’t have! Good for you though. Congrats on the find
Exactly!! I'm glad I rescued this roll!
Wicked score!
Thanks!! I appreciate you watching and leaving a comment!
I learn so much watching, feeding the algorithm is the least I can do!
Nice finds.
Thanks 👍 It was a nice surprise, for sure!
Do you think it’s true when in the USA, if u ask for a box of half dollars, you will most likely get silver? Love the videos!
Well, I've never had the opportunity to try it. It's hard to tell from TH-cam videos, which tend to highlight the silver. I do hear some coin roll hunters talk about being on long silver slumps. I suspect the majority of boxes will not have silver. (But I'd still love to try).
Saw your music video, nice voice.
Thanks so much for watching! I appreciate it!
Incredible roll! Even USA hunters would be jealous.... Would the Canadian Mint be allowed to destroy US cents? That's the question. In general, it's too bad the banks ship all special, and even collector coins to be destroyed. Every time I ask for special coins, they tell me they don't have any, and if they do, they can't sell them to me and have to ship them. Maybe 10 years ago, I bought a 1988 silver $20 dollar NIFC (of course) for face value, and I'm glad I have it now. I wonder if they would be allowed to send these as well, for destruction...
Thanks! It is a real shame, that's for sure. It guarantees that our older collectible coins will be come more and more scarce over time.
Would like some information about that Red book were did you get that ps your collection looks pretty good better then mine lol
I just ordered the red book on Amazon.

This collection belonged two ny father he passed away in the late70 's it been in my possession since then it's all tucked away since then finding things I haven't seen since then oldest coin I have penny is1887 nickels 1904 and the oldest dime is 1905 how do you get rid of the green stuff on the coins lol
That green stuff is next to impossilbe to remove. I wouldn't try and clean any of the coins!
Thats awesome! What is the value of a circulated 1906 Edward the sixth Canadian dime? Just wondering... Subscribed..
A 1906 Edward VII dime could be anywhere from $5-$80 depending on condition (roughly!).
I went to my local shop and picked up 20 Canadian 5 cent pieces.I got 6 that I needed along with 2 upgrades. Now I need to find an album for them. Thanks for a great video.
The Lighthouse Vista Nature series splits the 5 cents into two albums, one for 1858-1952 and the second volume for 1953-date. Those would be good options!
Yesterday with my metal detector i found a 1937 great brittain three pence, king george the 6th, nickel brass, $0.39, 45.7M mintage, i wonder how long it was in the ground, very curious😮
Well, that's a pretty cool find!!
How do you remove gunk/corrosion/green stuff from a penny? I have a 1938 Canada penny in which the obverse is entirely green and a wheat penny that is almost completely encrusted with a thick white/green layer...plus i have hundreds of pennies with black or green gunk on them.
Here's something you can try: Mix 1/8th cup of vinegar with 1/2 teaspoon of salt and let the salt dissolve. Soak the pennies for 5 minutes. However, your pennies may be too corroded to be salvaged, and this will definitely damage the coins. But they'll probably look much nicer than they do now!
@@CADRollHunter thanks. 👍
I found 2 chuck nickels and 2 chuck dimes
I dont have quarter, loonie or toonie
You're part way there!
the 1914 looks like the D might be there very worn but there, it is a key date might want to double check.
I'll definitely have to take a second look!!
Nice hunt! Did I miss your email reply?
Thanks - no, you didn't miss a reply. I'ma bit behind! I'll reply shortly!
Someone must have taken the wheat cents from someone's collection not caring how old or valuable they are and x cashed them at the bank. maybe relative that passed away collection
Very fortunate that they were still there when I went in. Glad to pick these up!
