I have never seen so many bright and shiny Canadian pennies from the mid 1970s to the early 1980s in rolls since they were originally released by the mint.
It's not typical, that's for sure, but this is the second time this has happened to me somewhat recently. But I think they may have come from the same bunch of rolls from the bank. I typically only hunt 20 rolls at a time, so If I got more than than, I hold onto the rest for later. That's what I think happened here.
Good going on the penny hunt. I like that you got lots of red colored copper cents. Those are so attractive in a collection especially, in that Lighthouse album. Thanks for the tip on 1948 variety. Take care.
@@CADRollHunter I found my source of Pennies in Quebec. BNC( I don’t know if it is in the rest of Canada) and TD. They both gave me about a box of 50 rolls. I think I have about 10 kg of copper now😂
i have enjoyed your nickel videos, and back in 2012 i pick up some unc pennies from a store, later when i check them i found some 202 mag pennies with what looks like a blob of metal under the first 2 in the date and some also double date. also i i did buy some last of the 2012 pennies mag and zinc rolls i evently open them up and found some that had black spots on unc coins. they also be like the Toonies with a pedestal effect .Also something different i have some things on the 2000p and 2001p nickel on the 2000p has some tools marks on the last few letters of her name they look like little antennas on them and see a few other little marks around the queen and have some of 2001 have something strange coming out of the base of her neck and i found a few more like that keep up the good work
James...regarding the US 2017P, you are right in saying these arent rare BUT theyre becoming more and more scarse so save yours. Also 2017 was rumored to be the last year of the penny but that never happened.
I’m one of them! I have a pickle jar that’s 95% full. If you come across the 2009 penny, this is scarce as well. There’s four different reverse versions depicting Lincoln at various stages in his life up to the White House.
Hey James, did you mention in the last few videos that you track your collection in the Coins and Canada Website? I though you did so I went to the site but can't find the option. Would love to know where you store yours as I am looking for something like that for myself. Thanks!
Coinsandcanada is a great resource, but doesn't have a tracking option. It's the Numista.com website that allows you to create a free account and log your collection. It's incredibly helpful!
As a coin hunter from the US, I get really excited finding Canadian coins during a hunt.
That's exactly how I feel about finding US coins here. Thanks so much for watching!!
Nice hunt thank for sharing 👍👍❤️
Thanks for watching! Always appreciated!
very nice finds. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Bruce!
I'm in the US, and I managed to pull a KGV from a tub of assorted change, mostly pennies. It was the only Canadian penny in the whole lot
Wow, that's pretty great!!
James, so many awesome pennies. Glad to see you are still able to hunt Canadian pennies.
Thanks! Every time they have pennies for me I feel fortunate!
Great job my friend
Thank you 👍
Some nice finds.
Thanks, Martin!

It's always nice to catch a glimpse of a red penny. Always have my fingers crossed it could be from the 30s or 40s...
@@CADRollHunter like a 1936 with dot? What a thrill it would be!
@@OgirCoins Sure, that will do! 🤣
Very nice hunt

@@Eintracht4Ever That's great - keep going back to those banks!!
how do you get canadian penny rolls? when i was in canada last summer, no one used pennies…
Pennies don't circulate, but the banks still collect them when folks cash in their piggy banks. Some banks will still sell them.

Thanks, Ron. Those types of die varieties make coin collecting fun. You never know what you might find when you put some pennies under the scope.

Interesting - I guess people have been putting them aside!

Supporting your channel brother. 👍👌 I like money 💰. Lol
Much appreciated! Thanks!
For the collected album, do you typically sell the coin album after you finish putting all the coins in the slots?
Well, I've never finished one, and I haven't even considered what to do with it.
