The song was written by Andrew Lloyd Webber as part of the funerary mass for his father. You just heard and witnessed a perfect rendition and felt what Andrew felt wishing his father eternal rest while in mourning. Great job and my you are intuitive!
Sissel has been singing professionally for almost 40 years. Here are three recommendations that you might enjoy listing to. The first two she did when she has 50 years old. 1. "Slow Down: with the Mormon Tabernacle choir in 2019: th-cam.com/video/EFe84U__kt8/w-d-xo.html 2. Cover of "Unchained Melody": th-cam.com/video/gpPqmQBd47k/w-d-xo.html 3. Cover of "Wait a While" that had the music written by Jon Lord (from Deep Purple). Sissel performed this in China in 2010. th-cam.com/video/KOvTL6uZt3k/w-d-xo.html
She also sang the Norwegian national anthem at the opening of the Oslo winter Olympics. Listen to "Slow Down", also on You Tube. She was born raised and lives in Bergen Norway. Angelic voice
You've got to go listen to her sing Slow Down with the Tabernacle Choir & Symphony. It's the most profound angelic experience. I promise you'll be moved.
Just a bit of help with pronouncing the name -- th-cam.com/video/cdSFRz02yMA/w-d-xo.html A very tall Norwegian wonder with the voice of an angel. Listen to her singing Shenandoah to size her in comparison to her flue and violin players.
Sissel in Titanic Soundtrack? Lord of the Ring Soundtrack? You are misinformed. It was ENYA (not Sissel) who contributed two tracks to "The Fellowship of the Rings". But Enya and Sissel are outstanding beautiful female artists. I highly recommend Sissel's live performance of "SLOW DOWN" with the Tabernacle choir. You will love it 😉
I don't think I'm misinformed about Titanic and LOTR (I knew about Enya singing in LOTR since the beginning as I'm a huge fan of those soundtracks). See #1 and #6 here: www.thetabernaclechoir.org/articles/7-things-you-didnt-know-about-sissel.html?lang=eng I'll certainly give Slow Down a look. Thanks for the recommendation!
Great reaction! Sissel is the national treasure of Norway. She debuted in 1983 and has been performing all over the world.

@@anderssolberg8114 Ja, for det er enkelt å si for folk flest i verden.
Yip, it's liturgical Latin and meant to make you feel shriven.

Sissel sang thru the whole Titanic movie, except for the final song, which was performed by Celine Dion
