    In my office (I do the HR and logistics at a small medical facility), I run two 1080p 27inch setup, I found that having two monitors has helped streamline incoming requests while having one centered on the desk with what ever im working on and to my left the stuff id be using say once every 30 mins, this has made such a difference that even now as i have started implementing duel screen setups in the doctors offices the feedback has been verry positive and especially when doing planing for treatment and discussing patient files being able to comfortably have the information at hand has dramatically decreased the need to swap between programs and i feel it was a woth while move. Thanks for the great content.

    Hi! For someone who plays only on a Nintendo Switch, and watches movies, which would you recommend?
    ASUS VP249QGR (265$)
    Gigabyte G2F (295$)
    LG24GN600-B (270$)
    MSI G241 (255$)

      great video, but if you have low vision, optic nerve damage and a lazy eye, anything smaller than a 43" is too small to program on...
      I tried the ASUS ROG Swift PG43UQ which worked as a singe display, but think i am going even bigger and trying Philips 559M1RYV/00 55″. - Set to 1080p via 200% zoom
      ? My only concern is they are both 16:9, so i don't know if the larger screen will actually provide me with enough width to have two programs side/side?
      ? your thoughts?

    Insane video, loved how you summarised the key features to look for based on your experiences targetting productivity - Ultrawide (30% increase space), Curved is better than flat as the larger screen means it's harder to get a visual on the items on the edges (I always wondered why curved was invented), you mentioned 32" is ideal VA has high contrast but IPS has better viewing angles, the IO points both charging and connecting your PC making it a hub at home (mind-blowing, never thought of that) and finally the bezel mount, love the floating idea. Anyway, I call out the points above, so you know exactly why I personally found your video to be so INCREDIBLY useful mate. Much love!

    Around 2 years ago I worked for a company that provided me a Windows Dell Laptop (5510) and an external 27 inch Dell 2k monitor. The issue described next was encountered by multiple colleagues receiving the same setup like me. When connecting to the external monitor, periodically, something would happen ( enter sleep mode!?) and the laptop froze and became useless and the screen had Burberry like patterns on it. Not sure this was due to the fact that the graphics card was not good enough to support the monitor or was due to other reasons (nobody could figure it out). I was thinking recently to get an ultrawide 32/34 or 32 inch 4k monitor for multitasking purposes but due to the experience described above I do not want to purchase an external monitor that might be useless due to hardware limitations/issues on the laptop side. I guess the only assurance would be to get an external eGPU, which based on my understanding would assure a smooth functioning, but would also increase significantly the cost of the multitasking experience. My use case includes only multitasking ( at about 1-1.5m distance from the monitor) and reading text on it, no gaming. (programming use) Any recommendation for such a use case?

    After comparing several monitors, I bought the LG Ergo and it is a really good monitor if you want a high quality display that can be easily customized to a changing seating position. If your setup has a desk shelf make sure its back is open so that the Ergo monitor arm can be attached to the desk otherwise you will have to push the desk shelf further towards you reducing the available desk space.

    Great video reviewing detailing a lot. I guess one question I am left asking is if it makes a difference if a monitor is USB c compatible versus thunderbolt and do I risk any charging issues if I choose a 60 watt monitor rather than a 90 watts considering my laptop may require 90 watts worth of power delivery ( i.e. a 16" Macbook Pro)?

    • @ThisIsE
      @ThisIsE  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I’ve used 60W charging monitors to power 90W MacBooks for years and I’ve never had any problems. It charges slower and it is possible that the monitor might struggle to top up the battery BUT only if you bottleneck the laptop for prolonged period of time (max performance). Given the fact that most likely you’ll just have some minor peaks of consumption, you should have no problems charging it with 60W.

    I don't know a lot about monitors and I have a question. Is it harmful for eyes to use a monitor with low fresh rate (HZ) and I have to buy the monitor with 120 hz or more? Is It not hamful for eyes?

    7:03 Many people go to work and spend over 150 hours a month on an ugly flickering display with less than 100 ppi and they wonder why they are depressed 😂😂😂

    Awesome video and very helpful. I just went from a 35 inch LG 35WN65C-B to dual 27 inch Dell S2721D monitors. For my line of work, it made more sense to have dual monitors. What keyboard was on the desk behind you in this video?

    I have the 27ul550, fantastic monitor, only downside for me is the brightness, 350nits is not enough for viewing beside windows in sunny days

    I really tried to watch the whole thing, I really did. There are just so many things factually incorrect in this video when talking about not only productivity monitors but monitors in general. Not to mention the missing information specifically regarding productivity monitors.

    Great video and very detailed. Only problem I had was that you said 32inch was the best viewing size, and then go on to recommend a 38inch monitor. :-)

    With the new MBP 16" M1X on the horizon, I intend to upgrade to a better productivity monitor. This video has pretty much set my eyes on the LG38...I just need to check the cost in the UK. Thanks for posting.

    i think super ultrawide is better for side hustles where you just have to keep an eye on one monitor but you can continue your work in the main screen

    Hey! A quick question! You said you're work previously involved web designing. From a web-designer to dev, can you tell me why NOT a 16:10? I'm thinking about a 2 monitor set-up with 2 16:10 with thin bezels. What do you think? Over kill? Will wide monitor do the job(worried about vertical space)?

    • @ThisIsE
      @ThisIsE  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a BEAST. I much prefer the thin bezel on it, but it tops at 60hz which although still great, it is not as smooth as 144.

    Thank you for this. Question though - Based on the specs, the brightness of the 49 inch curved monitor is quite lacking. I am looking for a monitor that has an equivalent brightness of the 27 inch iMacs, and the only one I have found to be sufficient is the LG 27 inch UltraFine. Thoughts?
