I drove this car last night and it is definitely FAST and very smooth feeling throughout the power band
It also absorbed bumps in the road pretty well to my surprise...
There is one thing I noticed and I'm not sure if this is with all Porsche but it felt like the seats were set very close to the floor pan...
Not a deal-breaker but different...
The interior wasn't bad looking, it felt like a race car meets luxury, but overall it's a nice car in my personal experience...
Finally, the long (proper) version mit Thomas!! 👍🏻👏🏻💪🏼😎

If range is not an issue for you, this is surely the best car on sale right now. Petrol still makes more sense if you do long journeys, but otherwise why would you not buy this?
If you charge at home, it's dirt cheap to own. I have a i3s, and can do 16000km for 260€ in electricity. Service is also dirt cheap.
Just use the aero wheels and range mode and you will get your 400+ km range at 120 km/h highway speed. Doesn't really matter though, since this is the fastest charging sedan on the market and it is a joy to ogle the kW charging display. 😅

I love seeing those more unique elements of design. This must be the most unique-est design in the northern hemisphere.
Thank you Thomas, sorry the car is not Gentian Blue (Thomas Blue). The Range Mode will default to using front motor only and disengages rear mode via the rear transmission. Also I find the Active Lane Keeping to be pretty effective, maybe you had only Lane Keep Assist engaged vs Active Lane Keeping. I love the 4S, I get 260mi range easily on freeway 70-80mph in warmer temps like 60F.
Thank you for this great review Thomas, i really like your videos, keep up the great work. The Taycan Turbo S is indeed stellar, no doubt. The acceleration and instant torque is brutal. Handling is very good for such a heavy car. Where you start to feel the weight is in braking situations at Autobahn speed, even with carbon ceramics you can not overrride physics. I can not support your conclusion that the Taycan is better than the 911. The 911 is like a surgical blade cutting through butter especially in the 992 generation. At Autobahn speeds or on small country roads the Taycan stands no chance against the 992 Turbo S. But i agree that in most daily situations and also comfort wise the Taycan is certainly the better choice but for week-end fun 911 Turbo S always.

Zum beispiel werden bei den Handys mit der zeit ja die Baterien schlechter, wenn man die immer wieder auflädt, ist diese situation auch beim Porsche Taycan zu berücksichtigen... wird die Baterie des Taycans auch mit der Zeit schwächer?
Alle Batterien werden mit der Zeit etwas schlechter. Die bisherige Erfahrung mit Elektroautos zeigt aber, dass es die alltägliche Erfahrung kaum einschränkt wenn über die Jahre ein paar Kilometer weniger verfügbar sind

Does it have rear axle steering? For other models, it is optional. I’m curious how dynamic is standart steering system without rear axle.
yep rear axle steering is standard in the Turbo S

Awesome car. I‘ve tested it and the performance and build quality are top notch. I really need more range, though. 300km is not enough for me. Yes, yes, I know that 95% of the trips are 500km, and perhaps add targa version, I‘ll buy it! 😎

I personally would go for awd for the peace of mind since I don't want to imagine what happens if the tires spin. Then again, I bet flooring the non-S base models once they come out would overwhelm me like the Polestar 2. That being said, the P2's voice commands adjusted the AC properly on the first try.
The choice of a soundtrack deserves a separate mention. Great choice.

Spot on, Thomas, the range is the killer point for this kind of car together with the charging infrastructure. I would add the crucial point: the energy density generation. I do hope you, Germans, get rid of that Energiewende nonsense and see if there's a long term engineering future in this. I am kinda skeptic. However, thanks for a good review of an interesting car. After all, it is a Porsche, it can't be bad :)

Great review usual Thomas. However, I doubt the Taycan will get as low
as 150 miles-even in a German Winter.
There was a Gentleman (Don) who traveled across Canada, and into the US
in the dead of winter in a Turbo (freezing temps; high elevation; snow;
wind, etc.). And during his trip, he averaged between 185-230 miles in
his Turbo on snow tires. Note: The Turbo and Turbo S have the same drive
trains, except the boost at launch with the Turbo S.
I have been driving both the 4S and the Turbo S for a longer time now and tested it inner-city and also motorway, 4S in summer time and Turbo S in winter time. And I am usually gently with the throttle in normal driving life. As I said it is 300 km / 190 miles in winter time and 400 km / 250 miles in summer time. 150 miles it is when you floor it down in winter times.

Just remember, Tesla's do even poorer in the cold weather than the Taycan's. You should test those as well (if you haven't already) for reference during the colder months.

I do agree. Those "knobless" screens will be a distraction and obviously safety will become an issue. Strange the Porsche engineers overlooked that important function. Otherwise, a very nice vehicle. For long distance travel, electric vehicles still do lose out to fuel driven vehicles.

It will be interesting to see if a French designer will take the EV in the direction of the DS. Quiet, comfortable, efficient, Nordschliefe-free travel.
I had three days with the Taycan Turbo, here are some of my findings -
what's good: styling inside and out, ride quality, interior noise level, acceleration, handling
what's bad: no true single pedal driving option, no auto pilot - only lane keep assist, the car doesn't maintain some settings after turning off car such as regenerative braking and drive mode, 2 speed transmission clunk sound is annoying, voice control doesn't work most of the time, key fob not necessary - should use cell phone as proximity device like Tesla Model 3
I think the car looks best in Thomas blue ;)
Thomas thank you for using imperial measurements as well as metric. You do a great job. My only complaint is the cup holders, seems to be a porsche issue throughout the line, I hate that if your not using them they stick out and make the console look terrible. Such a poor design compared to the older 997 design.

Thank you Thomas, i mean i can understand why some people choose the Tesla model S , but man this car especially the Turbo and Turbo S , greta materials, feel, heritage, technology, luxory, sportines and performance this is the best electric car on the planet , its just a bit expensive :)

Great video as usual Thomas and all at Autogefühl . . .and yes the Porsche is incredible . .but it is also very sad for "petrol heads" like me. It sounds absolutely horrible, it sounds like an electric underground train or Metro train. It is the future and it is very sad.
Hand on heart Mr T , do you still feel that feel good factor , that feeling of I am sitting in a magical car in the taycan compared to when you sit drive a 911 . I mean would you really buy this over a 911 ? I ask as all things aside the 911 is a childhood dream and feeling of being in something special . I don’t know if that feeling will ever be with a taycan .
I would like to know this too! I have been saving for a 997.2 for many years and can finally afford one now. However a new base Taycan is the same money due to tax exemption to some degree here in Denmark. So Thomas does the Taycan feel as special to drive as a 911 to you? Of course it's subjective and two completely different cars :)
