    Tip: If you use a Geometry Node>Position instead of Texture CoOrdinate at the start, then you don't have to apply the Modifiers.

      Attempting to follow along in 3.0, texture coordinates is not exactly cooperating. I am using the geometry>position and it is working more or less exactly as expected. I didn't really watch all the updates and how geometry works or changed things or if there was any change, I saw some videos coming out about geometry nodes but I'm glad this is working. Thanks for the tip.

  • @TsuriaDragon

    your zoom in on the geometry nodes are too far away I can't see what you're typing in or selecting, and when I change the different node to separate the water from the mountains its still coloring the whole thing I followed your steps.

      Mine was doing the same thing. I closed Blender and restarted, tried again, and it worked. It appears to be related to the option Clamp. If it's checked, you can move the plane up or down where it will eventually hit a point where it flattens. If it is not checked, there won't be any flattening.

    Good Job Man.
    Z axis before Color Ramp doesn't work...do you know why?
    X and Y works perfectly, but Z works like a fader ... T:T

      waR Z!! T:T... So I created a new plane over created terrain in Z= 0 m.

    Absolutely not working for me. Hooked to the X it's a hard line separating the principled shaders along the X, to the Y it's a hard line separating along the Y, but hooked to Z all it does is mix them together. Rotated the object 90 degrees on Y to test a theory, but when I did that hooking it to the X it's a hard line along the Y, and hooking to the Y is a hard line along the X.. and Z still only blends the 2 shaders.

    • @mishahess7664
      @mishahess7664 ปีที่แล้ว

      Apologies, I meant Y shows a hard line on the Z when the object is rotated 90 degrees.. which does no good because it's still sideways.

    • @mishahess7664
      @mishahess7664 ปีที่แล้ว

      Found the strangest way, but it somehow works. Had to add mapping coordinates and change the Z location to .2 and the Y scale to 15 and Z scale to .4 - and then had to flip the sliders the other way around.

    Is there such a thing as a video where the person explains things 100% including an explaination on how to fix a mistake?
    Litterally every video I've come across explains things as though anyone watching MUST somewhat be a pro.
    Tutorials are supposed to help and each one I watch, brings me closer and close to jumping ship on Blender.
    Thing is, I really want to make Blender my #1 go to for my landscaping design!
    I guess my search for the perfect Blender teacher continues.........
