So glad you got a new train and everything settled with the batteries. You -probably helped a lot of people telling your story. I know I will be watching for overheating batteries. Village is coming along nicely.
Oooh I love it❤ I been having trouble as mine is smaller scale and my mountains were turning out great till I tried to make those snow line thingys, guess my brush wasn’t small enough. Then it just looked freaky like white snails. Can’t event try to figure the fix yet. Just walked away from it. Will try to make do this year and maybe next year start earlier.
Sherri, that's a really good idea. Start in the summer when you can carve and trim the styrofoam outside, avoid the mess, and discard it if you don't like it. And try again. Keep on trying, styrofoam is relatively cheap. I found that researching the internet was really helpful at first, and I found a website that had thousands of mountain range illustrations. I used those the first year. One sample website: www.alamy.com/stock-photo/landscape-mountain-range.html?cutout=1&sortBy=relevant It really helps to have the right tools as well. The first years I used a box-cutter and a knife. I since purchased and also was gifted a tool set from Hot Wire Foam Factory. The more you (gently) use the tools the better you get. As well, a wire brush is invaluable. Hope this helps. Keep trying, friend!! You will get there!
The train - my husband said if you didn’t take the batteries out from last year that could have been why it did what it did don’t ask me why lol 😂 but he said tell you to make sure if your leaving them in not to ????? Just passing the info along ❤
LOL.... he wouldn't know this but I am completely OCD about things like that. I take all the batteries out of every little battery receptacle every year. I go through at least two packs of 48 per year. They were out of a freshly purchased pack. The clerk said she thought it was the train that was at fault, but the owner of the company where I bought the train said it was the batteries. Who knows??? 😁
@@TheasChristmasVillages Hey being thorough isn’t a bad thing I’m the same way I’m super paranoid about stuff like that but it was worth mentioning. Maybe someone will even see our conversation and think to themselves hey I better take those batteries out at the end of the season !

It's a cautionary tale, right? I can't forget how the train came around that corner like a speeding bullet. Put me into shock for a bit!
The movie Speed came to mind. Scary! @@TheasChristmasVillages
