Thea I love how the snow lines have come up. Thank you for once again showing us your preparations for your Christmas villiage this year. I look forward to watching every year. Steve.
Thank you Steve! This is probably my last year. I'm finding it pretty tough going, what with my age and physical limitations. However I have said that before, and here we are again.... 🤣
Thea, is the fabric behind the mountains plain black with white dots, or is the black sparkly? Thanks for teaching us so thoroughly. Looks professional as heck!
Maureen, the canvases are made of fabric with fiberoptic lights, plus dots of all shades of white and a variety of sizes. They are pre-made canvases sold by a Canadian retail company: www.christmasvillages.ca.
Thea, I painted my mountains today just the grey, but mixed it up too dark. What do you do when it more smut grey than dove grey like you made. Never mixed paint before. Also my paint was thick did I miss it, or did you add water to your acrylic paint. Remember how down you were when the panels fell, umm I’m there in that feeling now ugh 😩
Aw, Sherri, don't fret. I did dip the paintbrush in water now and then, to dilute the opaqueness. Now just let it all dry completely first. Probably 24 hours. I added a splash of royal blue to the grey to make it less black. But no matter. Tomorrow, dry brush a thin layer of medium blue, then when that's absolutely dry a layer of white. Don't use water, but before you paint, make sure most of the paint is off the brush. There should only be a very, very little paint going on the styrofoam. At first you won't see any difference but once it's dry it should look better. Also if you get impatient and start painting before it's totally dry, it will only look worse. Hope that helps.
Incredible. They look great!!! I will give that a try one day. Thanks for posting.
You are welcome! Glad you like them.

Very nice! I am struggling to find the best way to put my backdrop up. Those mountains are nice!
Thank you! Good to hear the mountains look good from your vantage point. Cheers!
