There is an actual plausible explanation for what happened between X5 and X6 for Zero. Basically, the final stage of X5 takes place in Cyber Space. Which is not the real world. After everything goes down in X5, X is forcibly removed from Cyber Space while Zero's body remained there. Now remember that this Cyber Space is ZERO's cyber space. So, Zero being in his own cyber space... wouldn't it make sense that he could stay hidden, and heal himself there? Bad translation aside, him surviving really isn't that insane. Remember that X was just as badly injured as Zero at the end of X5 and he survived.
Plus, as they can just regenerate with energy, being in cyberspace, where the energy required to do things is basically zero (like with cyber elves not dying in cyber space), zero's systems can basically give him infinite automatic repair while there
My theory is Isoc repaired him. It goes to explain Isoc's obsession with Zero and knowledge of his systems inside and out. I believe Zero told X he repaired himself because he also didn't know exactly what happened, or he did and wanted to avoid X suspecting anything.
@@mrapplegate4065 This is the most plausible. Remember the last time Zero was practically destroyed. Who fixed him and gave him upgrades? Serges. In the original jp text when X beats Serges, Serges essentially states that he is actually Dr.Wily come back via uploading his brain into a reploid body. Then, recall the pre-fight dialogue with Sigma in X5. He hints that he's been talking to Dr.Wily. Then remember the last time we see Isoc is his lifeless but still functioning husk. We can say with some degree of certainty that Isoc was Dr.Wily again using a new body.
@@mrapplegate4065 Isoc is confirmed to be an ai of doctor wily like the dr light ai in the capsules so that's why he's obsessed and why he's so knowledgeable, he literally built zero
Ok, so the bosses level up as you kill bosses so Ground Scarvich actually can do more, it's just everybody fights him first or second for some reason and that early all he does is roll robot poop around. Narratively Sigma coming back is fine in X6, it's the last bits of his mostly destroyed mind crawling out from Reploid hell and he's zombified then has a final demonic looking form to signify his mindless hatred and X or Zero eradicates the last traces of Sigma forever - for real... until X7 and X8 revive him like he was never reduced to such a pathetic, broken state. If we get X9, you know he'll be back like nothing happened again despite him permanently dying in X5, Capcom actually, quite skillfully, writing him back into X6 without contradicting lore to kill him permanently and completely, and then killing him permanently again in X8.
Sigma coming back in X6 was one of the worst narrative decisions I've ever seen. We could've had Isoc as the reincarnation of Wily, have him as the mastermind behind the Nightmare Phenomenon and the main villain. Instead, we got Gate, a cowardly villain who cops out to Sigma and gets killed for it.
X6 still one of my favorite X games despite the jank. Think it was the 3rd or 4th megaman game I had played as a kid. Loved the music, character designs, abilities for both X and Zero, the extra parts you can equip, and the new armors that were introduced. I actually loved the idea of certain stages effecting the next stage you go into, since in X1 that sort of idea worked out really cool, however the Nightmare System in X6 was unfortunately pretty terribly implemented making some levels even more of a pain to get through as opposed to in X1 where most stage changes were actually beneficial to the player. Didn't like the way some parts of the stages were constructed, being stuck in a room with high-max with no weaponry to defeat him, losing reploids forever to spam repeated nightmare virus guys, and painstakingly figuring out how to make "that jump" with the shadow armor in the second half of the sigma stage. Definitely there was frustrating jank especially on first playthrough, but the aspects I love about it still make it one of my favorites. Like, at least I move responsively unlike molasses ass X7. And yo, if you got the original game on PS1 it had that sick opening song that's not in the collection version! Nightmare gnats need to go though and Zero suicide nose-dive Sentsuizan while you're trying to save those reploids in Mijinion's stage was some extra bullshit.
This was fantastic! Definitely do more of these stream highlights. I've only seen I think one other video from you, but I had a ton of fun watching this.
I seriously don't get how some people think that x6 is the worst when x7 exists. Sure, x6 is pretty bad too, but x7 can't even be considered a game anymore, it's that bad ☠️
I admit I'm an X6 apologist (an amazing OST will let me forgive a lot) but it never made me rage and throw the game case against the wall so hard that it broke like X7 did.
Because X6 has a completely incomprehensible plot, poor translation, a cop out villain who doubles as an extremely difficult and annoying boss, really bad level design, that abysmal Nightmare Phenomenon, and is borderline unplayable on Hard mode with all this in mind. As bad as anything X7 did was, it never made me rage as much as when I played X6.
if you wanna know how to make megaman x6 fun, play zero and abuse glitches, there are 2 main glitches to use with him one that makes you invincible (achieved by interrupting Ensuizan by destroying the platform you are standing on or sliding off of it (this can even be done in the final fight, because sigma spawns a destructable platform)) and one that makes you shred everything (done by activating guard shell, as long as an enemy is in contact with both the guard shell and the z saber they will take damage every frame, to the point where you can two shot sigma)
I seriously wish Megaman Maverick Hunter X was more successful. Cause it wasn’t suppose to stop at X1. The PSP remakes were aiming to fix the X series so that the Story could make more sense and be a lot more consistent. Then Capcom happened. Edit: Forgot to mention they were also going to fix some Gameplay issues and set ups from Megaman X3, X4, X5, & X6.
100% BN4 is tedious 100% X6 is torture. It’s like asking would you like to spend your entire week working or would you like to dip Your whole hand In boiling oil. Sure one is over faster But it hurts a lot more to experience. X7?……we do not speak of that…….that thing
A salute to all our fallen Megamen, those who beat every stage in X6 and still lost the roll on the canon shot. I can't relate; I got the roll off of one stage. Didn't beat the game because it's X6, but still, holy cow was that game made wrong.
It was my first Mega Man game in general, so to me it's the best and every other game is wrong, even if I never beat Metal Shark Prayer's stage to this day. I don't have to be able to beat the game to think it's the best, unironically. You are not entitled to beat a game.
The only thing I like about Flame Hyenard is the design and concept, the execution on the other hand was a pain, especiakly if you don't know the gimmick.
playing as the girls in X8 was super fun, i love that, and Lumine being the twist boss was AMAZING, because sigma isn't the true villain for once, but if 6 had been the last game narratively i'd be totally fine.
As someone that played through X6 as their first X game unparadoxically. It's prepare me for BS on the other X game and it turn all of them into easy mode due to how it a massive hard training course. Looking back at it, I find it weird that most people say that beating the game with Shadow Armor was such a problem due to that one jump because Shadow Armor can't air dash because I remember I beat the game with the Armor after I got it without the Blade armor and just keep using till the final boss since it Ninja Armor and the only thing I got.
Here's the thing with X6 and X7. X6 had good ideas implemented poorly (save for Heatnix's dang donuts). X7 was cursed from start to end. The team that the game was given to had absolutely no experience with any of the X games or Megaman in general. And then were the questionable decisions regarding the camera angle and unlock conditions for X. There's a Matt Mcmuscles video on X7. As for the story of X5 to X6, the Eurasia Colony or its debris (depending how your playthrough pans out) falls to earth and creates the final area of the game which is so unstable that the cyber world and reality mixed together. Ignoring the other endings, the main point is that X is found and repaired and Zero goes missing. Moving to X6, Gate finds a piece of Zero among the wreckage of the Colony which eventually infects him. While researching the fragment, he is joined by Issoc and his personal creation High Max. The result of Gate's research is the Nightmare Virus which rewrites the DNA data (a.k.a. soul) of reploids and forcibly makes them mavericks (which is an upgrade to the Erasure Incident on Laguz Island where the DNA data was simply being stolen from reploids' bodies leaving them as husks; plot of Megaman Xtreme 2 btw). Gate and Issoc frame Zero as the source of the Nightmare virus while they pose as the only ones who can cure the virus. Seeing as we find Zero upon defeating the fake, we can assume that Issoc fixed Zero. In addition to that, we can assume that Issoc is Dr.Wily's spare body like Serges was back in X2 (this was in the original JP text that wasn't translated to english) because nobody else but Wily can properly fix Zero given how wrecked he got at the end of X6. X8 gives you your wish so long as you aren't playing on easy.
1:03:24 What about Metal Blade against Flash Man (whose weakness is Crash Bomber) and Metal Man himself (whose weakness is Quick Boomerang) in the Wily Castle rematch? It might not be that useful against most other Robot Masters but the fact it's strong against Metal Man himself.... Just...
I don’t care how controversial this opinion is. I will always prefer X7 to X6. X6 has way more infuriating level design,a part system where you can lose any and all chance of getting said parts because of an enemy that can go through solid walls, and it remains to date the only game that requires a part or armor to get through and then proceeds to penalize you for getting said parts/armor by placing a pit in the middle of Gates agonizingly long second stage thus forcing you to quit the stage and go get that specific part then go through the stage again and FIGHT HIGH MAX AGAIN before delivering one last middle finger by making you go through gates tedious slog of a battle. X7 doesn’t randomly revive a previously dead character out of nowhere and justify it with a typo. X7 doesn’t have Blaze Heatnix’s stage. X7 > X6 any day of the week.
X7 is kind of a "so bad it's good" thing to me. It's a goofy romp where you can just laugh at how much it fails at everything it tries while not pulling your hair out because it's really not that hard at all. X6 is just so, so god damn bad. It is devoid of any joy one could gleam from it. Unless it's your "first X game" I seriously don't see how someone could gleam a tangible amount of joy from it it just sucks.
@@chimp_star I agree completely. There were many instances where I burst out laughing due to the voice acting. That was more enjoyment then I ever got out of X6.
I honestly Like X7 way more that X6 only because X5 is my favorite game in the franchise, I like what X7 Does from the perspective of someone who didn't want a X Game after X5, which is probably why I hate X6 Way more. I enjoy X7 for trying something diferent, Like it was bad, but it was funny bad, X6 Makes me Sad, it makes me upset, Janky 3D Platformers are funny to me, but the bastarditation of X5, my favorite Megaman game actively angers me. It helps a lot that I know how to control the Jank in X7, it is a fun game when you know what are you doing and the legacy collection took the loading screens so it speeds up the process, and the story is not bad, the biggest problem is X and how of a terrible he behaves. X6 is a game that it looks like you're in control, but you aren't, it looks like a Sprite Base Megaman, but it has the worst level design I've seen in a 2D Platformer.
X6 is my third favorite game in the X series and like my overall 5th favorite in the entire megaman series. It has some issues but its easily the one i have replayed the most in the series. It gets better and better the more you play.
I was using save states incredibly liberally and I still cant believe I ever actually made it through X6. While the boss fight with Gate is soul crushing, and the Donuts in Blaze Heatnix’ stage are bullshit, my least favourite part of the experience was getting half way through one of the late game stages, only to be forced to restart because it wasn’t possible to go any further with the armor I was using.
X6 was the first X game i beated so i ok with a Cbt section, also just a fun thing there a brazilian stramer who have a channel point reward that if someone pick he have to kill hyanard, no matter what stream he doing he will have to stop what he doing and go kill hyanard
X6 may have a ton of bullshit but on repeated plays, it's actually kinda fun since you can expect the bullshit and act accordingly and actually enjoy most of the designs, just me though. X7 is just ass.
i like sigma during x6. an example of insanity through a VERY broken translation working in the games favor. you know, cuz of how batshit insane he got for being revived for the fifth fucking time. because despite bringing back sigma, hes just... wrong. his body is unfinished, hes very disheveled-looking. i kinda appreciate sigma being the twist villain in x6 because... well... he SHOULDNT have been brought back.whatever sigma was when he was alive in x5 is gone. and replaced with this... thing that only knows hatred. besides. x6 isnt the worst. that would go to x7. by a country mile.
X6 was my introduction to the series so I can’t bash it is it a good game no but the characters and world kept me interested in the series went on to legends and then battle network after
Bad luck... Megaman X7 was unfortunately my first Megaman game! Got Megaman 11. Now... I see why people like it so much. Got a bad intro to a fantastic series.
I'M SORRY MOOGLE MAN I CANT HEAR YOUR VIDEO. I HAVE A RARE DISORDER IN MY EARS CALLED "BTTG SYNDROME", AS IN "BURN TO THE GROUND SYNDROME." ITS ALL I CAN HEAR ANYMORE. FROM ANYONE. HELP.
X6 is deeply flawed but isn’t nowhere near as bad as x7. At least x6 has the fundamental gameplay of x4-5. X7 feels like you’re perpetually stuck in molasses with ugly washed graphics
The real reason that Mog needs a break between MegaMan marathons is because it takes a good while to build up enough of a stockpile of alcohol to handle the bad MegaMan titles.
I am the 666th like, still would rather that than X7. (Also, man X is such a whiny jerk in X7. Axl clearly wants to do good, yet X treats him as still a criminal even in the ending. Who tf wrote this shit)

X6 gets to have Sigma back for the music alone
This the suffering of a man on the Hyenard grindset.
Burn it to the ground
This was a fun collection of highlights, I’d love more
So which physically impaired you more, the surgery or x7?
hyenard
Burn to the ground...
BURN!!!! BURN!!!!! AWOOOOOOOOO!!!!
TRI-FORMATION!!!!!
X7 saved my wife from sickness
He hate you now
…By killing her?
This game as Regular X is fucking impossible
To quote a great master "WHAT WERE THEY THINKING??"
You're trapped in a room with Hyenard and High Max. What would you do?
X command mission and X8 grant your villain wish.
if you wanna know how to make megaman x6 fun, play zero and abuse glitches, there are 2 main glitches to use with him
one that makes you invincible (achieved by interrupting Ensuizan by destroying the platform you are standing on or sliding off of it (this can even be done in the final fight, because sigma spawns a destructable platform))
and one that makes you shred everything (done by activating guard shell, as long as an enemy is in contact with both the guard shell and the z saber they will take damage every frame, to the point where you can two shot sigma)
Oh shit…I forgot about Gate’s stage, like the 3rd Stage has one Particular spot where ZERO just Cannot Progress AT ALL!
100% BN4 is tedious
100% X6 is torture.
It’s like asking would you like to spend your entire week working or would you like to dip Your whole hand In boiling oil. Sure one is over faster But it hurts a lot more to experience.
X7?……we do not speak of that…….that thing
X7 Zero sounds like Shadow the Hedgehog
A salute to all our fallen Megamen, those who beat every stage in X6 and still lost the roll on the canon shot.
I can't relate; I got the roll off of one stage. Didn't beat the game because it's X6, but still, holy cow was that game made wrong.
It was my first Mega Man game in general, so to me it's the best and every other game is wrong, even if I never beat Metal Shark Prayer's stage to this day. I don't have to be able to beat the game to think it's the best, unironically. You are not entitled to beat a game.
X5
@@genyakozlov1316 You just threw the whole whole damn fishing pole into the lake, buddy, that's not how you set your bait properly
The only thing I like about Flame Hyenard is the design and concept, the execution on the other hand was a pain, especiakly if you don't know the gimmick.
Metal Shark's charged weapon one shots the png donuts if aligned correctly. it could have saved you so much pain xD
At least X8 is next. I think the game is really good and makes some much-needed improvements, but unfortunately it was really too little too late
He already played X8! Check the vod channel!
playing as the girls in X8 was super fun, i love that, and Lumine being the twist boss was AMAZING, because sigma isn't the true villain for once, but if 6 had been the last game narratively i'd be totally fine.
Oh my god, this was nuts. I'm glad you dedicated so much time to flame hyenard, that boss was a nightmare.
Those 2 fire levels in X6 & X7 were absurdly bad
X6 might be the funniest game of all time
1:06:43 - 1:06:48 best quote ever
I enjoyed this type of videos, it would be nice to see you're first experience with X8
X6>X5>Maverick Hunter X>X2>X3>Xtreme 2>X7>X8>X>Xtreme>X4
I really don't like X4
You have brain worms
X7 is kind of a "so bad it's good" thing to me. It's a goofy romp where you can just laugh at how much it fails at everything it tries while not pulling your hair out because it's really not that hard at all. X6 is just so, so god damn bad. It is devoid of any joy one could gleam from it. Unless it's your "first X game" I seriously don't see how someone could gleam a tangible amount of joy from it it just sucks.
@@chimp_star I agree completely. There were many instances where I burst out laughing due to the voice acting. That was more enjoyment then I ever got out of X6.
@@genyakozlov1316I'm surprised X8-X4 are your least favorite games.
43:58 PAIN
Really liked the video! Glad you're feeling better
X6 is not for beginner MMX players, it should be the last MM game you play, and with that experience behind you, its actually pretty fun
My first X game was X7, back when it first released.... even now, after playing all of the X series, it's still my favorite.
thats unfortunate
@@JonahZgo nah I love the game, no one else has to, and that's ok :)
how.
@@Racc_Oon it isn't that bad, i actually beated the game a few times to 100% and i enjoyed it
@@jb0258 Nostalgia clouds your judgment and that’s ok as x6 is my fav and first lol
The grammer of X6 looks a bit like it was Google Translated but still stayed faithful to the story it was Google Translating.
5 doughnuts... dear god
43:19 Well you didn't save me, I'm Mathew, not Matthew.
There's a romhack called X6 tweeks that tries to fix most of the problems including level design.
Drunken Angry at a bad game moogle has finally supplanted Fast Talking, Street Smart Slam Dancing Moogle as my favorite Moogle.
Fun fact: The development team spent more time inventing the name "Mijinion" than they spent on the level design of the entire game
i actually really like these highlights you should def upload more highlights
I liked the video, you should post more streams!
One thing I noticed is that the back of the box implies that x was kidnapped when he is just sitting on the couch watching fox news
X6 is my third favorite game in the X series and like my overall 5th favorite in the entire megaman series.
It has some issues but its easily the one i have replayed the most in the series. It gets better and better the more you play.
@@dcr7119 Megaman and Bass is also my favorite Classic Series game so yeah, I agree lmao, based take
X5 was supposed to be the last game in the X series and lead into Zero.
Unfortunately, X6 and X7 were created and tarnished the series's legacy.
BURN BURN BURN BURN IT TO THE GROUND
Seriously, Blaze Heatrix’s stage needs to be redesigned and shorten! Cause that Metal Donut boss Should Never have Been Implemented!
X6 AND X7? Welcome to hell. Enjoy your complementary cup of lava and spike covered chair
Well, this was certainly a pleasant surprise
I Have 100% both. X6 was hell X7 was a Bit annoying because The saving reploids but was not too bad
I love X6 because it made me and my dad happy while we talked shit about it.
Mega Man X7: Be the robot X!
...That Eva meme doesn't really work here does it?
The Donut mini boss is actually doesn't annoy me lol, feels easier with Zero for me.
(Bad translation lol).
X1-4 was the pinnacle of the X series. At least the X8 demake is cool
X6 was the first X game i beated so i ok with a Cbt section, also just a fun thing there a brazilian stramer who have a channel point reward that if someone pick he have to kill hyanard, no matter what stream he doing he will have to stop what he doing and go kill hyanard
Why have prisons when this exists?
Sigma: You thought I was dead. Well too bad. I'm alive.
TIME TO GET SERIOUS
The real reason that Mog needs a break between MegaMan marathons is because it takes a good while to build up enough of a stockpile of alcohol to handle the bad MegaMan titles.
BURN TO DA GROUND
I am the 666th like,
still would rather that than X7. (Also, man X is such a whiny jerk in X7. Axl clearly wants to do good, yet X treats him as still a criminal even in the ending. Who tf wrote this shit)
I never knew i needed rpgmonger cursing until today
X7: wanna hear the most annoying sound in the world

X7: too bad your going to anyways continuesly repeats burn to the ground.
