True lol. After my husband was cheating and we split up, I found myself listening to Jagged Little Pill one night, signing my heart out, packing & throwing out his shit. It was like a closure ritual, it just helped me let go of those emotions. I then drove to the beach & waded in the warm waters as I watched the sun come up & drove home like a weight had been lifted from my shoulders. It's strange but I legit feel grateful to Alanis for giving me that outlet.

He said that he listened to the whole album in his car and was stunned to hear unmistakable references to their past relationship. She and other female artists if this era allowed woman of our generation to be angry and pissed off when our whole lives we were told to be quiet and respectful no matter how we were treated. This is from the era where musicians/artists/bands weren't afraid to be utterly vulnerable, speak plainly, honestly & bluntly....It was very cathartic for them & so relatable for a whole generation of listeners. I miss that freedom of expression, emotion & just pure honesty in music. There's some nowadays but back then it was everywhere & accepted by the mainstream. It helped untold millions get through so many difficulties in life. For example, this album sold 33 million copies worldwide, was nominated for 9 grammys, won best album of the year & is one of the best selling albums of all time....She was 21... OMG! This made my day, my week! I literally grew up only listening to hiphop, and in my group of friends if you said you listened to rock (or other) you'd be laughed at and ridiculed, so I never really knew any other music. Then when I was 16-17 we moved to Europe and it was just around the time Alanis came out big on MTV, and I somehow ended up with her album Jagged Little Pill..... and I loved it! I played it over and over. It was the first time in my life I didn't listen to hiphop and my mind opened up to listening to other music. I can thank Alanis for opening my mind to other music actually. As a teen we loved this angry empowered "boss girl" music, haha.... it was the Anthem for girls growing up in the 90s, and especially after a break up, along with the lesser known "Nobody's Wife" by Anouk. That's why there's a whole generation of us who were in totally dysfunctional relationships, haha. We thought that it was what relationships were supposed to be like. It's funny because in those days listening to angry songs like this was normal stuff, and now in hindsight, and the way the world is today, I'm like: "wtf, this is some seriously disturbing stuff" haha. That being said, one of the greatest albums of all time imo.

In any event, he was driving somewhere, listening to the radio when the song came on. He said the voice sounded familiar, and as he listened, he recognized some of the phrases... Mr Duplicity during the middle of dinner.... because that had happened. He then said it occurred to him that, 'I might have hurt that girl'. I also recommend 'Uninvited'. I have the CD and still play it in its entirety at least once a month. When the album was released in 1995, I was 37 yrs old and, as a fellow Canadian up here in Toronto, I am VERY proud of our Alanis Morissette.

Whenever I listen to Alanis it really brings me back so vividly to those teenage/early 20s years

I think this is the fifth time I've watched this reaction and your facial expressions when she drops the "in the theater" bit still cracks me up. Great reaction, brother.

She does a song acapella style on her jagged little pill album that I just love.

The last song that comes after a brief break from the previous song? I love that song!

Jagged Little pill with the first CD I ever bought. I was in middle school and i still have it about 15ish yrs later...lol I didn't know when I bought it that it would help me get through a lot of 💩 in the years to come.
I actually didn't even know who she was until somebody told me that I kind of looked like her. I listened to it so much that i also mimicked her voice singing it. I absolutely love this woman. She gave me strength and confidence when i needed it. I used to have dreams about meeting her to thank her.

Seriously Peg…this had to be my favourite commentary, on this
song, on any reaction channel!! Come in for a hug shorty. Had me
on the floor! You got every nuance of the lyrics, this was the best
    thing I could’ve seen today…just gold. ❤️‍🔥🇨🇦

Great reaction, Alanis was really that girl in the 90's. You should react to one of her live performances.

This song was written about Dave Coulier, who was on the TV show Full House as Joey.
