I am about to adopt a dog tomorrow. I specifically chose her because she was abused, underweight and older girl. She had a miserable life for 8 years now she will have a pampered life for the next remaining years ❤️.
As i am typing, i am looking at my beautiful girl taking a nap. I rescued her, she had a rough year after being born. I can’t even go into it. Now she loves all dogs and everyone she comes in contact with. She is the sweetest. It took a couple months. After she realized this was her new life it changed everything. God Bless you for adopting. Good luck.
I adopted my beautiful boy from OC animal care. He was traumatized and scared when I brought him home, but so far, he has given me over thirteen years of love and companionship. Rescue dogs remember being saved!
I adopted my little Cat 2 years ago from a Shelter. She had been hit by a car & the young woman that had her couldn’t pay the vet bill so she put her in the Shelter. She has slight brain damage but she is such a loving little cat - all she wants is to sit by me & get cuddles. She will come in from the garden to use her littler tray then go outside again after using it, most days she eats all her food then tries to cover the empty bowl up to eat again later like cats do in the wild. She’s such a funny little thing but Oh, so loving - & so loved.
If I won a lotteryI would build a nursing home for old and ill dogs, the ones nobody wants to adopt because they have one eye, 3 legs, skin diseases or are just old. But I have to win a lottery!🐕🐶🐕🦺🐩🐈⬛🐈🐱🦝
Your local shelter will have some fine candidates I'm sure. I found my puppy at my shelter 8 years ago and I found my best friend, a border collie that needed a home. He's a friendly like the puppy in the video and been with me through both my parents passing and me going through a difficult disability process. Pet's give you so much.
The dog I currently own was in a no Kill shelter for almost a year until I took him out He was one of these shelter dogs everyone ignored, too big for most owners and with trauma attached (his former owner did a horrible job socializing him to both humans and people, I suspect he shocked him too because of some scars on his neck) and I would have left him there had it not been for my older dog going to him and wagging her tail near his gate. She actually picked him for me. I took him because my other dog liked him regardless of his issues when she had not played or seem that excited about all the other dogs I was interested in. I was looking to adopt a friend for her so it was fair to let her pick. Best decision of my life 2 years later hes a cuddle bug to humans, no longer mouthy or nervous anywhere, not even the busy train that I take a lot to go places with both my dogs and I've been working on introducing him to other dogs with patience and hoping he learns to be less nervous and defensive with them in the future. Hes a lot of work but easier and easier by the day and Im thankful I have him everyday. He is my other dogs best friend and they sleep together everynight even though they have about 5 beds to pick from, she loves him and I know I did the right thing for them both
I'm crying my eyes out after watching this video. The way Nicholas went towards the front every time someone came by then had to go back just killed me. He looked so sweet and loving. DOGS ARE SO SPECIAL!!! I tell this to people all the time " Dog spelled backwards is God!!! I feel so good that Nicholas was adopted by that kind hearted woman. She will be greatly rewarded by what Nicholas has to offer...UNCONDITIONAL LOVE!!! I'm glad I watched this because I my tear ducts needed a flushing anyway. To all the Dog people of this world thank you for sharing a part of your life with them.
How can you not be a dog person? What does that even mean? A dog is the best thing on this planet. They love you no matter what. Keep that to yourself 😉
That's right. They are our best friends. We have adopted three dogs from the shelter in the past. They are so grateful that they have a permanent home.
Hurrah for Nicholas! God bless the woman who couldn't stop thinking of him, you know what that meant? Her heart already picked him, and it was meant to be. No more people passing him buy, it's his turn now! Get him in the car and go home to a forever home! God bless you Nicholas and the wonderful woman who saved you! Love you both! Love, wendy
Great to hear that Nicholas finally got a home and someone to love and care for him and free him from the shelter. Thank You for keeping on finding a home for him and God Bless You and Thank You. 💕💞🐶🐶🐕🐕💞💕
Beautiful, beautiful Nicholas! How could so many people overlook this wonderful furbaby? I'm so glad Nicholas has found his forever home with his awesome, new 'Dogmother.' I wish them both a lifetime of pure happiness & love together. ❤🐶🐾❤🐶🐾❤🐶🐾❤🐶🐾❤
Nick was only waiting for his mom to come back and then got his wish. I'm sure he knows better than us how it all was worth it in the end. Finally happy.
He was probably overlooked by so many people because he looks like a pit bull type dog, because even though the stigma is misplaced about them and people are learning how sweet they truly are, most cities require you carry a very expensive liability insurance plan to own one, eliminating a bunch of potential adopters from the get-go. It’s super sad.
To be fair, people are looking for dogs suited to their individual lifestyle, personality, and experience or lack thereof. Adoption goes beyond just which animal you pity the most; it still needs to be a good fit even if you feel really bad for the dogs you can’t take into your care.
What a beautiful story! Bless you guys for keeping Nicholas safe and keeping the faith that he would find his forever home. To the lady who gave Nicholas a second chance, a home, with all the love in the world, you are an angel on this planet. 😇
We adopted a 7-9 yr old dog many years ago, he was one of the best dogs we ever had. He was very protective of me, adored my children and he loved his human grandparents too. I cried for days when we had to have him put down, due cancer three years later. Shelter pets give you their whole hearts, and their fullest measure of devotion.
They had another adoption event the following week and he did finally find his furever home. I guess the first adopter didn't check with landlord and couldn't keep him.
We adopted our girl, a Norwegian Elkhound of 6 years. She had been badly abused. Broken back, broken nose, etc. It was 2 years before we could reach out and pet her without her freaking out in fear. Even if your raised voice was from happiness, she would run to the bedroom and hide under the bed covers. But she loved my girls (6 and 8 years.) If they smart mouthed me, she nipped their fingers. If they were too slow to go into the house, she put her nose between their legs and shoved them. And every night, she would check one girl's room while I the other and we would pass in the hall to go to the other room and eventually meet in my room. She was very protective and saved our lives twice. Best dog I ever had, and we were soul mates. The last nine years of her life she spent with us, and it was happy. It's been many years since she passed, and I still miss my Wynter.
That was truly heartbreaking to see Nicholas constantly being passed up by people. I was glad to see the people at the animal shelter doing everything possible for Nicholas so he could get adopted. It was truly beautiful to see this lady come and take Nicholas home! She has a caring and loving heart, by what she did for this poor dog. May she and Nicholas live long happy lives together!! God Bless and Godspeed to this woman and Nicholas, as well as those at the shelter and all who love animals!!!
🌈🌈Way to go Nick!!! May you have a beautiful, healthy & happy life!!! ~God bless all doggies living in shelters and thank you so much for taking such good care of them! 💖💖💖💖💖✨✨✨✨✨
Amazing non-coincidence. Pick Nick Day was one day away & his eventual Mom comes back for him. Bless Nick, his new Mom & you folks at the shelter for not giving up. 🐾🐾
God's blessings and thanks to this woman and the staff of this shelter for opening your hearts to this wonderful and beautiful soul of a dog. Have a great life Nick, you deserve it!💞🐾😊
😢I can't stop crying all he wanted is to be loved and give love back 😢 come on people go out and find a loving Dog cat small big is love ❤️ 😍 please open your hearts 💕 and homes to God's Animals please Thank you God bless 🙌 🙏 ❤️ ♥️
We adopted a wonderful dog who had spent the first 6 years of her life in a rescue. She was part chow, all black very protective and intimidating, one day an old acquaintance came to visit, the dog was very uneasy, emitting low growls and sitting directly in front of me. Knowing this individuals history I excused myself went out the back door, caught his brother stealing tools from the shed. That wasn’t the only time she warned us about people and was always correct. We were fortunate to have her 7 years.
💔 My heart is inconsolable at the thought of the many, many innocent shelter animals who wait in hope for what must seem like forever for a selfless heart who will love them enough to take them home. Gorgeous Nicholas represents ALL of the dear Shelter angels who, altho they are SO worthy, continue to be overlooked... who, thru no fault of their own, are sadly forced to face endless loneliness & heartbreak in a cold, hard, eternal shelter cage. They don't deserve that. NO animal deserves that. Oh dear merciful Lord God, I pray You will PLEASE... send an army of loving hearts to rescue each & every innocent Shelter angel. And until such time as each one of our dear shelter angels is found by a loving forever family who will rescue them & take them home, I most humbly pray... May they ALL be safe & healthy. May they ALL have full bellies & a soft, safe, warm place to lay their sweet heads. May they ALL have days when they get to run & play with friends. May they ALL know warm cuddles & feel the gentle touch of love & affection. And above all else... please, help us to find a way to show them ALL, so that each one of them will ALWAYS KNOW they ARE SO loved. THEY ARE ALL so very... VERY loved. 💕🙏💕
This brought an instant tear that I wasn’t expecting….the happy feeling of being loved and wanted…….I think right now we all need a bit more love- so happy for him🎉
I would adopt every one regardless. They actually rescue you. You people are the ones that Need need need this unconditional love that is alarming scarce today. Animals are our last chance. Thank Dog.
Any dog adopted and saved brings a blessing from God, or the power of universe . Any animal helped and saved show the humans win against evil and satan.
I'm going to a local shelter next Saturday. I had to put my beautiful border collie down in January and now I'm ready for another best friend. I am looking forward to making a dog like Nick happier than they ever could imagine. I know that dog will do the same for me.
This reminds me of my girl. I walked dogs at our county shelter & Gwen would sit in the back of her kennel, not out of fear. More just because she's always been so very "chill", so she was overlooked. Well, after 5 months, I adopted her. She was perfect. Really perfect. She loved my 2 cats. I was hesitant to adopting as I was going through cancer treatment, but she became my emotional support. She'd lay next to me when I napped & put a paw on my hand. She's about 13 now so I know time is limited, but she's as sweet as ever!!!
So happy ❤️❤️. All of my dogs have been rescued. My pit that I have now was found as a stray on the city streets. Miss Layla had been in the shelter longer than any other dog there. I truly believe it's because she has a horrific (which I never notice) scar on her back. She is such a special girl and loves everyone she meets. At the time I adopted her (7 years ago) I had two other dogs, who have since passed away 💔 She has been right by my side as we both grieved loosing precious members of our pack. Please adopt there are so many amazing dogs who not only can you save their life but they will save yours too❤️❤️🌟
My old man was a rescue from a puppy mill who doesn't like his head being touched. He helped me through losing his first owner my dad. 13 years later and he is a half blind, deaf as a doorknob but is sleeping next to me now. He loved his late brother and now loves me today. Merlin is my buddy.
My wife and I adopted a Pit mix that had been in the shelter for 6 months. We asked for the dog that had been there the longest. He has been with us for 9 months now, and I can’t imagine a day without him.
We adopted a dog from a shelter nearly 4 years ago, he'd been there over 3 months after being handed in with a head injury, when we were looking he refused to come out of his kennel when called so we had the staff bring him out, he was all over us he was so excited and we adopted him that day, I've noticed in a lot of these adoption vids that the adoptee dog winds up being the best dog ever as is our Hunter, he is as quirky as they get too and loves to snuggle
Urgent emergency Please join me in prayer for all those affected children families animals starvation and flooding in Sudan they desperately need your prayers please pray for them God bless you all
I was just saying to my husband this morning. When the time is right to get another dog, we will get a rescue. We will be asking which one, has been there the longest and hopefully give them their forever home. This breaks my heart. We have adopted 3 unwanted hamsters. Now an elderly pug that its owner no longer wanted. We realise a lot of animals come with issues but we have the patience, to make them feel safe and loved. We try to give them the best life possible, with lots of attention. It is so rewarding to see the change in them. Some animals just haven't discovered their real parents yet. Make lots of happy memories xx
It's awesome that they found each other. I'm sure that they will give each other all the happiness and love in the world. Thank you to her for being such a wonderful person.
My current dobe/mix was in a shelter for over a year in Tennessee - no-one ever showed an ounce of interest in him. And I'm kind of glad they didn't...because as soon as he came to my state...I picked him up as soon as he got off the shuttle bus. And in that time he has proven himself to be one of the best dogs I've ever had!
The view that an unwanted dog has ie of people coming & going, really broke my heart. Nicholas is a truly beautiful dog & I’m so glad this sweet boy finally got to “go home.” 💕 PS Those shelter people, who never gave up of him, are Earth angels!
My Dad had to attend a funeral in another state. He brought home a stray dog that he found in the church parking lot. The dog is a wild little boy and needs tons of training. He has brought so much love, happiness and chaos into my parents’ lives and they wouldn’t have it any other way 😊
That's great that Nicholas finally got family ! He's got lots of love and family ! God bless you Nicholas and your new family ! Live and love long ! Thanks for caring and sharing !
I rescued an older dog, 7y, and Axle has been the best and most devoted dog. Very affectionate and adorable. These older dogs are so appreciative… you will not be disappointed getting an older dog. Axle is my boy.
I walked into our local animal shelter 16 yrs ago. after getting acquainted with the canines I noticed this dog being ignored too. I went into his room and sat on the floor beside him, allowing him to smell me, accept me. And he did! I immediately yelled to my bf that this one coming home!!! ❤ we gave him his best life, he sadly passed away from natural old age that tore us up inside. We were left incomplete, it hurt tremendously losing him. We quickly paid a breeder as this was during covid pet stores, animal shelters were all closed. I was so desperate to love another fur baby again. I got the exact same dog as my old boy. The weird thing is my new dog adopted my last dogs name. lol BooBoo #1 #Booboo #2 ❤🐾🐾
It's sad that they (dogs) don't live long enough, and that's not human selfishness it's the knowledge that you could give them even more years of love and happiness. Well, I hug my dogs every day.
Congratulations to Nicholas and his new family! Thanks to all of the shelter staff who socialized him and cared about Nicholas! He's a lucky dog now! ❤️🍀🐶❤️
If you are considering adopting, please believe me that it will absolutely, 100% be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life! Don't look for the perfect dog with a checklist in mind, look for the one that, I dunno how to describe this, the one that your heart immediately says "This is THE ONE!" I have 2 rescues and the last one, Gracie, was one of the last dogs at the end of the day in a sponsored adoption event. Noone had chosen her. She is a Dachsund/Terrier mix and she was absolutely terrified of everyone and everything. She just cowered in her cage, shivering. Yet, I took one look in her eyes and said "I'll take her, please" The shelter folks were overjoyed but surprised, I didn't even need to have her out of her cage yet, let's just go straight to the paperwork. I just kept saying "I have learned to trust my own heart. We are meant to be a family" I got her home and slowly, over two days, slowly, introduced her to her new sister, Cannoli (a dachsund/chihuaha mix that I had adopted 6 month earlier). The first week Gracie just stayed in a doggy bed she dragged under a glass top coffee table. When she would come out to eat, she shrank in fright as my hand went to pet her, if my foot came anywhere near her she shivered and even peed herself. yet, I knew she was meant to be with me and The Noli Nolers! (My dogs have a ton of nicknames!) Flash forward a month later. Gracie is still very scared of other people until she meets them several times but OMG what an overall change! She has latched onto me so deeply that she will actually push Cannoli out of the way so I can pet her instead. She will insist I pet her, seriously, like every 5-10 minutes as she obviously needs constant reassurance that what she is now experiencing is REAL, not a dream! They both love sleeping with me at night and Gracie will constantly put her chin on my shoulder needing some love. She never stops wagging her tail now. NEVER. She has finally accepted that she will never, ever, again, have to shrink in terror expecting a beating. Just saying, don't go to a shelter looking for the cutest dog, go knowing that your heart will tell you when you find the perfect soulmate. I had the exact same experience with my first adoption, Cannoli. It was the 4th shelter I visited and the second I saw her in her cage I said "Let's start the paper work"
I am about to adopt a dog tomorrow. I specifically chose her because she was abused, underweight and older girl. She had a miserable life for 8 years now she will have a pampered life for the next remaining years ❤️.
wow.. brings me to tears.... you're such a nice soul

Pets aren't just objects to entertain you, they are living breathing creatures who are just as deserving of love as humans.
Not just pets. So are farm animals, zoo animals, and animals used for experiments and testing.

VERY loved.
💕🙏💕
I’m such a crybaby. I’m so glad he found a home. 🥹🫶🏼
Thank you so much 🙏💛💙💚💛💙💚💛💙💚💞☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️👍🐕🐶
Amen… may Nicolas have a long happy and healthy life with his new mom ! 🙏❤️
This brought an instant tear that I wasn’t expecting….the happy feeling of being loved and wanted…….I think right now we all need a bit more love- so happy for him🎉
WHEW thank the lord for that note that he finds his forever home. I didn't make it 5 seconds into the kennel shot and I was fixing to get a cry on
So so heartbreaking to watch a beautiful dog like that wait and wait 💔 I'm so happy Nick got his forever home 🏡💜💜💜
Thank you for giving Nick a chance to prove that he too is an awesome furbaby! ❤
You never gave up - thank you!
Big thank you to the beautiful lady that adopted Nicholas ❤...and thank you to the shelter for taking care of him for so many years🎈
I'm going to a local shelter next Saturday. I had to put my beautiful border collie down in January and now I'm ready for another best friend. I am looking forward to making a dog like Nick happier than they ever could imagine. I know that dog will do the same for me.
God bless you and your future Fur Baby 🐶🥰❣️
Our shelter angel was 100 days inside. Pure black. 120 lbs. Lab/mastiff. We thank God he chose us. Miss him always! ❤
God Bless that Lady and Nicolas ! He deserved a good home like his heart !
He comes across as such a beautiful soul too 🥺 glad his moment arrived
Safest thing I ever seen and now I'll only think of this all day and night 😢so sad so hard to watch
Nicholas is such a sweetheart. So glad he finally found his lady.❤❤❤❤
Oh thank God he's got a home. Breaks my heart.
He is just full of joy!! Beautiful soul, wonderful life! 💘
Well said
This is why when I do decide to adopt dogs/cats, I’d adopt the older/senior ones and make the rest of their lives the best of their lives
Please adopt there are so many amazing dogs who not only can you save their life but they will save yours too❤️❤️🌟
BRAVO for being the human God meant us to be 🙏 .. my beautiful girl was a rescue too .. she truly “saved” me 🐶🥰❣️
My old man was a rescue from a puppy mill who doesn't like his head being touched.
My 10 year old rescue pittie waited 4 years in the shelter. After a 1500-mile drive, she was ours forever. Couldn't be happier ❤
SO GLAD HE GOT A FOREVER HOME…!!!
NO BEAUTIFUL PRECIOUS BABY SHOULD BE LEFT BEHIND…!!
Thank you for finding him a mommy and happiness..💕🐾💕🐾💕🐾
Thanks a million for helping these beautiful doggies 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
God Bless you and these precious lives and I’m so overjoyed that Nick has a forever home and will never be ignored.
Sad to think that a three year old dog is too old for some people. He's still such a young pup!
Brings tears to my eyes, bless this beautiful lady for giving such a gorgeous boy a home,🙏💗💙
got tears in my eyes and my heart became 10000 pieces💔...l don't understand people at all.....how can people ignore them?
We adopted a dog from a shelter nearly 4 years ago, he'd been there over 3 months after being handed in with a head injury, when we were looking he refused to come out of his kennel when called so we had the staff bring him out, he was all over us he was so excited and we adopted him that day, I've noticed in a lot of these adoption vids that the adoptee dog winds up being the best dog ever as is our Hunter, he is as quirky as they get too and loves to snuggle
God bless Hunter and his beautiful loving 2-legged family 🐶🥰❣️
I’m so glad he’s gone to a home where he will be given the love he deserves and needs 💝💝✨ May he and his new family be Blessed always! ✨✨
Lady was a blessing..
She just knew a good dog when she saw it.
Urgent emergency Please join me in prayer for all those affected children families animals starvation and flooding in Sudan they desperately need your prayers please pray for them God bless you all
I pray for all those lost in such a war torn land.
Thx so much we cried and were amazed at your wonderful rescue centre and the effort you put into him we applause you and pray for your organisation
Собаки как дети. Смотрел и переживал за него
Nice
My current dobe/mix was in a shelter for over a year in Tennessee - no-one ever showed an ounce of interest in him. And I'm kind of glad they didn't...because as soon as he came to my state...I picked him up as soon as he got off the shuttle bus. And in that time he has proven himself to be one of the best dogs I've ever had!
The view that an unwanted dog has ie of people coming & going, really broke my heart. Nicholas is a truly beautiful dog & I’m so glad this sweet boy finally got to “go home.” 💕
PS Those shelter people, who never gave up of him, are Earth angels!
My Dad had to attend a funeral in another state. He brought home a stray dog that he found in the church parking lot. The dog is a wild little boy and needs tons of training. He has brought so much love, happiness and chaos into my parents’ lives and they wouldn’t have it any other way 😊
A couch potato is nice but a dog with personality are the best.
What a beautiful ending, I'll honestly never get tired of seeing these beautiful story's 💙🐕
He is so beautiful!! Thank you to the lovely woman who adopted him, and to the shelter for looking after him and persevering yaaay!!!
I adopted a rescue 3 years ago. She was overlooked because she barked at anyone who came by. Best decision I ever made.
Oh man that made me smile so much . Lucky lucky boy and thank you so so much to the beautiful lady that adopted him
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰
Australia
His so beautiful thank you for giving him a fur-ever home. You are blessed to have such a beautiful fur baby
Seja feliz, querido Nicholas! Deus te abençoe e a sua nova família❤
S
I e adopted three so far. I’m looking at getting number four. I got all older dogs no one wanted. They’re awesome ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you, and bless you!
Do not be sad because I bet you gave that dog the best life he could have ever lived and what more could you do?
God bless the pets ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Congratulations to Nicholas and his new family! Thanks to all of the shelter staff who socialized him and cared about Nicholas! He's a lucky dog now! ❤️🍀🐶❤️
If you are considering adopting, please believe me that it will absolutely, 100% be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life!
Don't look for the perfect dog with a checklist in mind, look for the one that, I dunno how to describe this, the one that your heart immediately says "This is THE ONE!"
I have 2 rescues and the last one, Gracie, was one of the last dogs at the end of the day in a sponsored adoption event. Noone had chosen her. She is a Dachsund/Terrier mix and she was absolutely terrified of everyone and everything. She just cowered in her cage, shivering. Yet, I took one look in her eyes and said "I'll take her, please"
The shelter folks were overjoyed but surprised, I didn't even need to have her out of her cage yet, let's just go straight to the paperwork. I just kept saying "I have learned to trust my own heart. We are meant to be a family"
I got her home and slowly, over two days, slowly, introduced her to her new sister, Cannoli (a dachsund/chihuaha mix that I had adopted 6 month earlier).
(My dogs have a ton of nicknames!)
Flash forward a month later.
It was the 4th shelter I visited and the second I saw her in her cage I said "Let's start the paper work"
Beautiful story - thank you for sharing and encouraging others!!
🎉🎉 amazing!!! Love that he found his forever home!!
God 🙏 bless you !
Gave me the feels on this one. Bless you all!
