I had a galaxy silver A1 about 12 years ago. I sold it because i needed the money and honestly it was the worst thing ive ever done.
I have a 09 zx14 now but my love for it just isnt the same.

I have candy lime green paint A2 with 4900 miles.. and I did similar last week. I removed the entire fairing..it’s a bike that likes to fight you..& the plastic screws are a PITA! The upper fairing was the easiest. 2 screws, remove mirrors, unclip the lights loom/multi plug, done.
I ordered and have now fitted Chinese lime green full fairing set. I have bubble wrapped and stored all the oem plastics to protect them as they are all unmarked. I now won’t worry about the after market stuff. 🤓
I also bought spare front & rear wheels, and painted them myself lime green…and they have turned out pretty good. The oem wheels are black, and I didn’t want to paint them to match the after market fairing set.
I will say, I am pleasantly surprised by the quality and fitment of the (MFS) Chinese fairings. Well painted and lacquered.
Apologies for my ramblings. I have a few other bikes, but still love working on and riding the mighty ZX12R 💚👊🏼

Well this is my first bike and it's fairly easy to work on just time consuming, kinda wish I liked cafe racer bikes more so I didn't have to deal with the fairing but I like sports bikes. Maybe one day I'll buy something easier but this was my dad's bike, it's a forever bike. Thank you for watching!

    FYI
    Soaking of insulating tape
Efficient winding requires providing the tape with a long bath (it can be even all night), so that it becomes softer, more flexible, more stretchy, and at the same time it can not slip. Good things take time! Wet wrapping is associated with a terrible fern. Wet tape can stain strongly. Therefore, wear gloves and work clothes. It is also possible to wind the tape dry, but if the wet tape later during drying starts to shrink and tight around the collector, you will longer enjoy the work done by yourself.
