I was so excited to see all these guys together! Most of them are about the same age and yet you could feel the respect for Matthew every time he said anything. I have a feeling some of them really looked up to him.
On a completely unrelated note.... did anyone else have an overcoming urge to run your fingers through Matthew's hair? He has amazing hair! 😆
Adam Scott and Matthew Perry are really on the same wavelength. Same sense of humor.
100%. That one one of the first things I noticed. Also, Armisen caught Adam Scott's keeping the penal/ penal thing going just far enough to make it dumb (on purpose.)
It takes a certain type of comedian to be completely comfortable with awkward silences and uncomfortable moments and to keep going with it until it is excruciating. The Office was perfect commitment to the bit. Adam Scott and Fred Armisen do that so well.
Joke for joke, I still think Matthew Perry would be the funniest one when the cameras were off.
But only Fred Armisen could write the perfect parody of this. (like Tim Heidecker)
Chandler Bing and Nick Miller in the same room. F Yeah!
Pedro Enrique just what I was thinking
they are practically the same person
why do you need to swear? Do you think it's cool?
FoodforThought cuz fuck u
red bull machine!
I can't say I was overly impressed with the line of questioning to be honest. A lot of 'what's the worst', 'things you want to forget', 'weirdest', 'thing you regret'. Actors have an enviable life in so many ways to the public, but juggling an on screen persona with a private life would be incredibly difficult . Asking a group of talented/fortunate/privileged actors so many negatively geared questions make for a bad interview, only in my opinion of course, but you had so much talent and experience there - as an interviewer you'd think you could lift the mood and get some great stories out of them.
I agree with this comment
So true. I was completely underwhelmed. I was hoping they would talk some more about their craft, their respective journeys, dig deeper into some questions like the one Matthew responded to about the difference in network tv then and now. Just more insight into aspects about their work and how each one goes about it. I suppose that wasn't the idea here or for this show. Just felt like a waste of an opportunity given the talent that had gathered in the room.
@@khamirbhatia They've really improved in recent years though. I think it was because they had just started. Most of the recent stuff has been pretty insightful and inspiring.
My opinion though.
@@folutile any particular one that you recommend watching? i saw another one that had the showrunners of bb, lost, newsroom, madmen, true detective s1 and i'm going to assume that too was from their earlier days.
@@khamirbhatia Have you seen anyone from 2017, 2018 to date? I would recommend checking out the one that had Chadwick, Viggo Mortensen (Dont know the spelling right, sorry)., etc. Other ones I really enjoyed were the comedy actors roundtable with don Cheadle, Ricky Gervais, Jordan Peele..etc. Then, the conversation on creativity with Glover, Chazelle, Lin-Miranda Manuel etc. Also, some enjoyable ones include the female comedy actress roundtable with Jane Fonda, Tiffany Haddish and so so. Another one to look into would be The writers roundtable with John Kransinski, Bo Burnham, Paul Schrader etc. There are many enjoyable ones. I think there was one with Will Smith, Samuel L. Jackson and so so. There are a lot of good ones, but I think these are good enough to get you started. There was also a Live one with Margot Robbie, Bryan Cranston and so so. Very good, in my opinion, as well. Please do give me feedback if you don't enjoy or if you do😅
Jake Johnson is a phenomenal actor. I hope he'll win a bunch of awards for this season of New Girl. He was extra amazing in it!
We haven't seen Matthew Perry a lot in the past few years and it is great to see him again. It is very sad that his shows keep getting cancelled because he is extremely funny and seems very nice and humble.
he died
I found Jake Johnson to be the leader of the group, moving the conversation along and getting a lot of laughs he's truly amazing.
Matthew Perry is such a great actor... I can't stand the fact that all his shows after Friends have been cancelled.
Love this interview, but I miss Matty on TV already
How do you that he is a great actor?
All the friends cast were very talented, glad other people see it too.
@@peace1652 Watch studio 60 on the sunset strip
How do you that he is a great actor?
I love these segments because it strips away the perceived glamour of showbiz and reveals acting as it is at its core: a job. I work in healthcare but I can completely relate to some of their concerns.
I wish happiness for Mathew Perry...
Jake Johnson deserved an Emmy nomination this year.
matthew perry is badass to witness
Matthew Perry and Adam Scott just going back and forth on that joke....pure genius!
One of my favorite roundtables - these men are all so talented and so funny! This is a great group! We miss you Matthew ❤
Jake Johnson was my favorite. That grocery store story lmao
"let's not stop" is so Chandler...
Jim Parsons is a great listener
I know it's 7 years later, but that's the thing that stood out to me the most. While I sometimes thought that the others were interrupting him or each other, he really seemed to take all that information in, he was listening and you can see the interest in his face
You can't fool me Hollywood Reporter people. That table isn't round... And we don't see enough of it. Trying to distract us with all your questions and focus on those actors, WE KNOW IT'S NOT ROUND!!!
lol
In 2 months, yeah. How did you know?
So I'm 2 months early :-)
Happy Birthday to me!
Matthew Perry is such a great actor... I can't stand the fact that all his shows after Friends have been cancelled.
Love this interview, but I miss Matty on TV already
Already missing you so much, Matthew. 💔 Love that this ended on that note with him talking about who'd give him the 'Alan Alda type' laugh. That's such a vivid description and something that would be great to see on Matthew.
The thing I like about these round table discussions is how inteTnsely the participants listen to each other. They seem to really care about what everyone is saying and I admire that.
Mathew Perry's dry sense of humor is hilarious
matthew perry is the bomb in this whole interview. he's so over it most of the time, but has witty words of wisdom here & there. won't let the penis thing go, making the interviewers flounder to get everyone back on track. then he stands up at the end like, "let's get this show on the ROAD"
+moiraine_damodred matthew's the best
So many of my favorite actors in one place! Matthew Perry, Jake Johnson, & Jim Parsons. So much love!
I would rather just meet one them than ask for a photo or autograph. Mathew Perry is so close to Chandler in real life, it would be great just having a conversation with him.
I think NBC might've wound up still airing the pilot (or at least intended to) of that "LA airport in the future" show that Perry did right before Friends even though it obviously didn't get an order, because I'm pretty sure I remember seeing an ad for it. And I mean, at the time, so not just if it's here on youtube.
Kevin W that show was on fox, not nbc
MOREE matthew perry pleasee!!
I love them all so much, I think they're the greatest, funniest and smartest group of people, but I'm really rooting for Jake Johnson.
Adam Scott and Mathew Perry should do something together, they've got good back and forth.
Most of my favourite comedy actors in one video how have I not seen this before!??
It's alarming how many people commenting missed the key points of the discussion and reduced themselves to the exact things that the actors described as ignorant.
Adam Scott, Jake Johnson, and Matthew Perry seem like pretty cool guys in real life. They all seem to have great senses of humor and are very likeable. Jim Parsons was fairly quiet but adorable. Eric Stonestreet, though, was a little intense, and I wasn't left with a favorable impression of him.
You summed it up perfectly.
Wait I didn't realize how old this video was D:
@Etta James I haven't watched modern family in a while and I barely know cam and to me I feel like he's not the best at reading social cues, he turned some funny moments into something that made everyone uncomfortable.
I love you, Jake Johnson.
@Toby Shellard.... Eric seemed arrogant.
I want Adam and Jake in a movie together. Holy shit.
They were actually going to do the 2014 movie *“Let’s Be Cops”* 🚔🚓🚨
but Adam Scott dropped out & Damon Wayans took his place in that movie, alongside Jake Johnson.
I love you, Jake Johnson.
50:05 Matt admitting he's had enough of the interview is so satisfying
(even though these interviewers are a bit better than the man who does a lot of the other round tables).
Loved this, their stories were amazing. Matt seemed oddly wise in a lot of the things he said, and Jim is just adorable. Friends, tbbt, and SNL are some of my favorite shows, so this was great. :)
I thought about this round table all the years since I watched it and I'm glad to happen upon it again
Ugh Jake Johnson and Adam Scott in the same interview. 😍 My two favorites.
It's so weird to hear Matthew Perry say he has a show he keeps on for comfort and not really watch it. Meanwhile, the rest of the world puts Friends on for comfort.
I was thinking the exact same thing. Friends is my therapy and he's my favorite ❤
Fred is so soft spoken. What a cool group of talent, everyone felt so genuine. Interesting seeing those who shine in comedy seeming to have been the most affected by “fame”. Like in terms of being more serious in real life due to it being a taxing sort of lifestyle.
Im in the uk so never seen this programme was funny and very interesting to hear how funny and intelligent they are still can't believe the world or tv and film lost such a beautiful intelligent and funny person in matthew perry. I felt the same way when Philip Seymour hoffan and river phoenix died. Still matthew perry death hit me like nothing before.
Oh my God!! Eric's voice when he started answering the first question. I cannot believe he has such a deep voice So different from Cam's..
I always think, that comedy actors/actress are serious artists cause it's not easy to make people laugh. Comedy is hard #justsaying
true true
Fred is a strange man but that's probably why he is so funny on his shows. Portlandia is a strange funny show!
ughhhh Matthew why are you so perfect???
My ideal guy is a mix of Chandler Bing and Ben Wyatt, now both actors are in the same room! :D
So is mine😂😂
Matthew and Jim in same room! Boom!!! My head just exploded!
Big respect for Matthew Perry singling out Alan Partridge as his favourite comedy
I miss the show Go On, it was a great funny cathartic show.
Love all of these people, especially Jim and Matt!
"20 million people don't watch primetime anymore" Jim's sitting there like, "yeah, ok"
Lol that Big Bang show is such an oddity to me because I don't watch it, none of my friends watch it, and yet every time I go on the Warner Bros lot they always boast that it's the '#1 show on television' and I'd say 90% of the tour group groan and are shocked that anyone watches it. I wouldn't be surprised if we find out zombies exist and some CBS exec has huge warehouses full of Nielsen Zombies just watching Big Bang Theory on a 24hr loop.
Baffles me how that kind of show is popular and all over the world. Its so bad.
@@chrisayres8460it’s a great show
@@peanutismintso you and your friends don’t like comedy and are lame. What about it?
I love Matthew Perry!!!! he is just wise and smart and shy and....
Matthew Perry is the best!
SidneyRose wish he spoke a little quicker though
My fav cast from Friends
Fred Armisen is so soft spoken. Cool. Lol...
You will eat the cat poop!
SNL casts are all like that lol
Hes a garbage human being
@@lucasazx5474 wait because of his alleged treatment of Elisabeth Moss or did he do something else? You have my curiosity because I always thought he was so eccentric. Damn
This group is just amazing and comedic excellence.🤓
Just found this video. All amazing actors. All on some of my favorite shows of all time. So cool to see them all together. ♥️
goddam i wish matthew spoke more !! he is the most interesting and funny one there (in my opinion)
Loved this. Matthew Perry talking about Friends :)

looooooooool you literally copy and pasted that comment from the one just above. That desperate for likes eh?
I love Matthew Perry
I really loved this! They are all amazing especially Jim, Matthew and Eric :)
Adam too
I love how undeniably jaded Matthew Perry is. It's a bit unfortunate but it adds great perspective to these roundtables.
Yes Matthew Perry! 👏👏👏
OH MY GOD
I wish Matthew and Adam Scott could have done something together. My heart still breaks that wonderful man is gone forever. 😨😟😒
Fred Armisen just talking is like a perfect SNL sketch!
Jake Johnson should have got a nomination!!
Jake Johnson is awesome!
i would love to see a co-ed roundtable
there are lots of them. just look a little further.
Dint have to look very far for the whiny bitch
Etta James people of any gender
Everybody lay off Mathew Perry! He is comedy gold!
How
agreed, everyone needs to shut up and watch friends again, because Matthew was the reason the series was funny, HE made up 70% of the jokes of the whole show, not just matt's part
How so?
He's legend for sure
I really enjoyed this but the fact that there wasn't anyone from Community deeply saddens me!
3 actors from 10+ seasons together.. awesome.
I am so glaad Jim Parsons said that he liked college! Especially since I go to University of Houston (where he went)
Woo -hoo Houston! -Lol
Wow, what an amazing line-up! Love all these guys so much.
Comedy actors are the smartest guys in any room.
My two favorite actors Jim Parsons and, the absolutely brilliant and charming Jake Johnson together in one room. I can die happy now.
i've gone through watched most of these, this is the one im most excited for surprisingly
Jim was very quiet when the 20 million rating was mentioned, tbbt get that much so he was very humble there
I was thinking of Jim when that was mentioned
Jake Johnson!!!!
To the person who picked out the table for this interview... you had one job!!
love this group of men!
this was great...loved to see this perspective
haha, there's something sexy about pretty much everything about jake.
I really like some of the input their giving, and the freedom that comes with role playing as actors.. Very interesting exchange of ideas in characterization overall! #2023 ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
Jim Parsons looks like a knitwear model
Metthew is Chandler in real life. I knew he was involved in process of creating this iconic character but God! he is a natural funny guy. I really liked Go On. Sorry it was cancelled too soon.
I enjoyed this so much, thank you.
Love the props to Almost Heroes at the end. Never understood why people hated it
Jim saying "HOT DAMN!" is just HOT DAMN! :)
Perry is funny. I mean, they all are, but off the cuff he had some good improvised lines. I really hope we get another season of Party Down of these years. Netflix maybe.......
Jake Johnson such a talented comedic actor !
awesome actor table! Matthew looking really handsome here. questions may could have been better, but some were really interesting for me. anyway it could have gone way longer, I laughed a lot and the actors combination was very interesting.
WHAT I just saw this video was 56 minutes long, didn't realize the time AT ALL. thought probably 20 minutes went by haha.
They're all nice guys
It's very comforting
This is a great roundtable
Matthew Perry saying Partridge is his favourite thing
You guys have come a long way since this roundtable
I didn't realize until now that Matthew Perry's middle finger on the right hand has no tip o.O
49:59 you get a good look at it.
wow, I have never noticed that before! didn't even during this interview until you commented on it. I'll be looking for it next time I have a friends marathon :)
wow, what happened with the tip?
But the tip is the best part! It has the nail!
Nathalie C hahHahahahahha
I came to laugh I ended up slightly smiling
Me too bro
Thank you so much for posting these roundtables!
the questions for the women and men are so different in terms of quality
for example?
Jim's the best
Yeah They shoulda let him speak more
damn matthew perry is probably thinking: bitch get off my back
Adam is so funny in this lol
No offense, but why are the hosts for the roundtables always so awkward. They don't move, talk, or act like normal people. It's off-putting.
spencecity99
All staged scripted. Not natural. They could act but they don't.
They are not narcissistic actors!
@@fembot521 So because they're not narcissistic actors they can't behave like normal people? Interesting bullshit theory dude
This is my education. Thank you THR!
