It's a beautiful looking pig room, but cleaning cages like that where one is on top of the other is what I've always wondered about. I'd like to see a video of how you clean a cage like that.🐹🐹
@@apriestnamedViv have you?? Guinea pigs can be pretty messy, but that doesn't mean they don't clean up after them. If you don't clean the guinea pigs area, it can spread sickness and disease, so they have to clean it regularly. This is just an ignorant ass comment.
I think $500 for 4 cages plus storage is a good price. Yes expensive but you got a lot of out of that! Also yes to a tour 😍 you're piggies are so lucky ♥️
You are right, $500 is such a fair price for all that came out of it. So worth it. Don’t ever want to do that again… BUT I’m so happy I did!🥰 Tour video it is!!
WOW! Transformed into a ompletely new room! The retro pink color looks great with the natural daylight giving a calming effect. I like how the cages are not just rectangular and there is extra space for the hay areas. That was a lot of work but beautiful in the end. Room tour please🙂🫑💕
Thank you so much!! The room flow feels so different. It’s wild to think I was living any other way. If it wasn’t for the house across the street to temporarily keep them in I never could have pulled it off.😅 but yes room tour next video! Appreciate you!💗💗
This is amazing! About 20 years ago, I heard whispers of coroplast cages and since I had 17 pigs at the time, I wanted a huge enclosure for at least some of them. I didn't have a template, just common sense and a vision. It was rudimentary compared to what you've done, but it was big and cute and the five pigs that resided in it loved it. Now that I'm back in the market for a couple pigweenies, I am seeing builds like yours and am duly inspired! Thanks for sharing!
I would really like to do a similar thing for my piggies! My oldest piggy just had a massive tumor removed and now is stuck only being able to roam in her cage for over a month compared to walking free range around the house. I feel like a bigger cage like this to roam would give her the sense of freedom back! Thank you for the inspiration :D
After doing like five of these massive remodels I can confirm the most tedious part is the zip ties. So. Many. Zip ties. And maybe this is obvious to some people but I lost my scissors during the last remodel and all I could find was my Guinea pig nail clippers. Omg, sooooo much easier to get in between those tight spaces.
My kids have a cute guinea pig for 3 years now. We bought it when it was only 1-2 months old. Today we got lots of inspiration from your video. We will build a nice bigger house for our little cutie. Thank you for sharing your ideas.🤟🤟💕💕🥰🥰
Timelapse’s are definitely my favorite and the most satisfying! I absolutely love the look of the room and I bet the piggies absolutely love their new cages!!❤️❤️

The transformation is amazing you worked so hard for this and you deserve a comfortable place to be in then you feed the pigs when you clean/spot clean the cages and just being in there.❤ now I do have to ask who is your favourite pig/child ☺️
I’ve never had Guinea pigs and I don’t think I ever will but I still watched all of this video hahaha it was so satisfying but also the lil piggies are adorable
In case you ever have to break things down again, invest in a pair of End Nipper cutting pliers. I used them for nipping the zipties off my ratty cage's levels for cage-cleaning day, and they were honestly a miracle for my hands. And they're only like ten bucks!
I’m so glad you finally did this . It used to give me anxiety the way the room was set up before. You were doing the best you could at the time I know but I was like how is that functional? This is so much better for both you and the piggies.
Congratulations on your stunning new two-tier layout!😍 I love how it wraps around symmetrically and is designed to be able to reach all areas while giving the piggies maximum space✨ The room color is gorgeous too! 👏👏👏💖 Oh and room tour please!!🙏
taking apart and cleaning the old setup was SOOOO satisfying to see, and the new setup looks awesome, and like it will be much easier for you to clean and maintain. and its funny because it took me and my pigs about 2 years to figure out our "perfect" setup as well lol
Just a quick tip for any other time you deal with having to snip zip ties, use wire snippers. I just threw a small reception for my sister and had to use a LOT of zip ties. I tightened them pretty tight as well. I was using scissors first, but they were too tight and I didn't want to damage anything. I switched over to wire snippers and ohhh what a game changer!!
I love it! My only comment and personal opinion, would be to paint the frames/borders a darker pink to give the room depth! I know its a pet room too though so
It looks amazing, I am going to borrow your painting idea, I loved how you painted door frames and window paint the same colour as the wall! Here in GB we tend to use egg shell paint /gloss or something similar to paint the door frames and windows frames which is white, I actually prefer how you have done it, I can’t wait to paint my wet room now using your idea! ❤️❤️❤️
Yes! That’s how most folks do it here too. A semi gloss white trim. I find in smaller rooms painting the wall color and trim the same color makes the room feel bigger and not so broken up. I also use eggshell/satin for all of it. I stopped using semi gloss except for in my bathroom and cabinets. Have fun with your new project!!!💗💗
I really wish we had a spare room to make a piggy room or even just a pet room but we have four kids so the piggies r in the living room and one of the kids rooms lol came out beautiful ❤️ I'd say cleaning than a tour
Love this play-by-play! Definitely want to see both but my vote is on the cage cleaning. I'm curious on how it is now, especially with the bottom cage.
Next time you need to cut any zip ties from the grids, get a pair of wire cutters or cuticle scissors. Works like a charm and so much easier than trying to get them with a pair of scissors

you totally need to get some of the roll out(quick lay out not glue down) linoleum! waterproof and easy to remove!! they have some usually fairly cheap at Ollies, but i got mine for my shop from a discount floor outlet for only around $100 I did the entire 12x20 building floors. so wish i had a whole room to use for a pet room!! That looks amazing. Where do you get those liners? I have a few from amazon, but they are hard to find. I know when we recently updated we went more vertical. We used industrial food shelving that was ~ 18" x 48" with a shelf load of 600 lbs each shelf. The bottom cage is a 3' x 10' wood and grids cage while the upper 2 cages are 2 x 4 C&C. The lower uses 2x4's and plywood covered with linoleum and insulated underneath with foam boards. This is because we have the piggies in the basement and the floor can get down to 60F. It is 2' off the floor. The top 2 are supported by a 2x4 frame above the lower cage, flush to the back. All is secured to the shelving. The beauty for me is the shelves are on industrial rubber wheels so I can move the whole unit around for cleaning. I use colorful shower curtains on the wall behind and can just pop these down and wash when needed. I have led rope light in a warm daylight strung above them both and it has a dimmer.
