The only reason why I never bought this doll is because of her 90's face. Personally I feel like a silkstone face would've fit better with that iconic outfit (but that's just my humble opinion). Loved this very informative review. Great job (as always), my friend! :)

Same! I'm not a huuuuge fan of the 90's faces either although they can be pretty on their own right (like this one). I'm more partial to Silkstone faces and faces post 2003. But the outfit is so cute! xoxo

Loved your review! I also love that you interweave M. Dior's story and history of his fashion house. I did learn something and that is M. Dior actually was drafted and fought in WWII - I did not know that. Thank you for this lovely review, even though I am 2 years late! Agreed that it should be on a Silkstone and am curious why it wasn't. Maybe for Dior's 80th anniversary?!

L-O-V-E your choice for review!! What an appropriate match. Dior can only be befittingly worn on a doll by Barbie Millicent Roberts. This is Barbie, the way an iconic doll should be. I enjoy all your knowledge about fashion and technical craftsmanship of dressmaking. Truly this is the Doll Review a la Atelier. Maybe in the future you can do more reviews of Barbie tie-ins with iconic designers. Silkstone has a doll inspired by this ensemble too I believe. And if you’ve seen outlander images some of the costume design are also inspired by Mr. Dior. Bravo Suresh!! I love your suit! 🌹👍😘👏🏻❤️

I transplanted a Grace Kelly head onto the doll's body so I didn't have to deal with undressing and redressing onto a model muse body. I read that Dior was Grace's favorite fashion house, so it's appropriate. Thank you for the video, Suresh, very nice.

wow the silkstone at the backround are devine. if I'm not mistaken they come from one collection with the titanic theme. iyou have the idea whats going on with mattel? its December already and yet we havent seen the fourth 2017 silkstone..
Yes, they are from the 2013 "Set Sail" collection. There is no 4th Silkstone for 2017 sadly. But images of the new 2018 Silkstone have leaked and are on doll blogs, I"m sure you've seen.

This review made me want to buy her! But i was disappointed 😔 with her quality. I mean, the quality is really great specially if you'll compare to the collector doll nowadays but I was expecting more since this is a CHRISTIAN DIOR doll! The top would have been so perfect if the inside was line. And the undergarments were a bit "meh" to me 😕. But still, she is such a gorgeous doll! Quality is still very great. Thanks for the review! MABUHAY DOLLS I actually owned this doll, and I felt that I should defend her quality. I bought her almost 15 years after her initial release. To me, the garter is tastefully done and the execution neat and impeccable. The petticoat is also a charming piece of detail. The unlined shirt is probably to reduce the bulk and to make the silhouette more flattering, and as thus is understandable to me. She was initially retailed for $80 I believed, and for that price she is an exceptional quality.

I’m surprised you didn’t comment on the rubber band bun look in the back of her head. I think she is a beautiful doll, but being a Christian Dior label I would think they would do a little bit more glamor to her face and makeup
I had commented on the rubber band but edited it out as the visual was already there. In terms of glamour, this is about as glamorous as it gets--understated and sublime. They were paying homage to the original 1947/57 creation and as you can see in Dior's days, French glamour was very simple.

I save the nicer boxes and toss the ones that are kind of basic or boring. Really just depends on the doll :)

Hey loved this video. I also have a question. So i'm about 20, i'm a guy and a big doll collecter. Also as a doll collecter I find it hard to find any guy who is open to dating a collector. This is kind of personal but dose anyone have advice?
Have you tried joining a doll collector club? Mine has a lot of men in it.

The National Barbie Collectors Convention, that meets yearly has tons of men that attend; myself included. I say, for myself, that love always came for me when I wasn't looking for it. I find as male collectors it is a bit hard finding someone who understands our joy of collecting. However, with that said it can be done so don't give up hope. There's lots of Facebook groups, one specifically for men, but right now the name escapes me.
I found my local club by doing a search on Facebook. Try looking on FB for Your City + Doll Club and see if anything pops up.
