I wish I had the money for all the EXPENSIVE doll's such as these but I just love to look at them... they are so perfect and beautiful! I would kill... jk... but I would love to have the original Barbie with the black and white bathing suit... love her hair and makeup... guess that's why I love these so much.
My fave is the "Gala Gown" and the "Party Dress" Barbies... AMAZING!!!! I have ALWAYS been a HUGE fan of Barbie and would LOVE to own ALL of these!!! My husband every now and then shows up with a new barbie for me and it's so sweet! I just saw the world record holder for the most Barbies... 15,000... on tv... they weren't in the box though and that really takes away from it for me... what do you ladies think... and men too?
I guess it depends on the individual collector. Many debox their dolls because they love to pose their dolls in diorama-type settings, or swap/try different outfits/jewellery/ accessories on their 'girls'. Other collectors buy dolls as an 'investment'...hoping the dolls' values will increase over time. Although I love the look of many of the BFMC's (Silkstone collection), I'm not that keen on dolls with rigid limbs/poses. I tend to like dolls that are jointed...easier to pose and play with.
Are you talking about the most recent reproductions or the one for the 35th anniversary...? I have the most recent 50th anniversary Millicent.... I will have to look up the other's... thank you!
