    I'm so glad I took time to watch this full video even after more than 10 years being natural. I'm sick of my natural hair. It's shedding so much (I'm anemic and in peri-menopause) sometimes my hair sheds just from mere touching. I've always detangled my daughter's and my own natural hair with conditioner and oil before washing. It seemed to cause less breakage than dry detangling. Now I'm questioning my very existence lol. How do you detangle dry hair?

    Hiiii Cyn,! I wrapped my hair a few time back to back and that took my edges a bit. I should have known not to do that when I felt some tenderness in my temple area. I haven’t wrapped my hair in years before this. Guess it’s not for me and I’m okay with that lol anyways length retention is going well! I found that paddle brush drying my hair most of the way and then finishing that section off with a round brush gives me optimal blow dry results! It’s nice to find what works best now that you’ve taught us what we need to know. You are right it’s all so simple!!

    • @IamCynDoll
      @IamCynDoll  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      You did something wrong. You tied your hair too tight. Your edges should not come out from wrapping your hair, you did something wrong.

      I think it was wearing this doobie cap. The elastic smh @@IamCynDoll

    • @AF-gb6ed
      @AF-gb6ed 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I also got new sleep shirts that were long sleeve and the way I sleep I could have been sleeping on my arm and that could have been a culprit too. The material of the shirts is not ideal for hair. My edges arent bad-but i definitely noticed the change somewhere between wrapping my hair with that doobie cap and getting new long sleeve sleep shirts. I stopped both and it’s already getting better. So guess something happened between the two of those options. Guess they are both examples of how quick mechanical damage can happen

    Thank you for the info as usual. I have 2 questions. To your point about treating hair like wigs, is it wise to flat iron the wax stick into your hair? I know this is common with wigs but I’m now seeing stylist do this on natural hair 😖. Next question, is it ok to flat iron my hair weekly. I have high porosity, color treated natural hair. I blow dry and flat iron on 410, one pass every 7-10 days with no flat ironing in between. It has been working out so far I think but I’m worried about the possibility of damage over time. I do use a leave in and heat protectant. Thank you!

    • @IamCynDoll
      @IamCynDoll  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      It’s my pleasure. No you should never melt wax into the hair. A wax stick and be used in very small amount at the end to control flyaways. Try to wait two weeks if you wait 10 days you can do 5 more. Get dry shampoo and restyle with a blow dryer.
      Over time weekly flat ironing will cause weathering long term.

    • @IamCynDoll

      Don’t use any product daily. Your covering your hair with product limits moisture absorption and causes breakage over time from too much weight. Ask yourself why your using the product daily.
