Where have you been all my life?! You are my favorite person! My hair was so THICK & rich and long and healthy until I started listening to these darn natural hair influencers. I don’t why I switched up when my hair was already flourishing. I was just following trends. 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ I mean it’s still long (I have waist length hair) but it’s thinned out so much and I have lost so much hair. Following trends, my routine was wash & go, loc method, no sulfates, rice rinses, apple cider vinegar, prep shampoo etc. ALL that you mentioned. 🤦🏽♀️🥴😫 I am 55 dealing with menopause. NO MORE nonsense. I love my blackness, I love my hair, but I am going to start blow drying it and wearing it stretched out as I please. I am no longer falling for the banana in the tailpipe! 🙄 I recently experienced scalp irritation because I was oiling & putting stuff on my scalp daily. It itched so bad to the point of burning. I had to wash it out! I’m DONE! I know your videos are old but the information is new to me and priceless. Thank you! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
When we know better we do better so don’t be hard on yourself. You got this. There is a lot of content here for you but let me know if you have any request.
I don’t remember my grandma putting water in my hair when moisturizing it, she put some oil on my ends after blowing drying it and my hair flourished. I can’t believe I let team natural made me go against what I’ve learned.
I've let my hair air dry all of my life until I found you. I bought a blow dryer a roller set and a blow dryer attachment to dry my hair. Doing it makes my hair look better as well. I just started and looking forward to seeing the health of my hair return.
@IamCynDoll thank you! Do you think a blow dry brush is just as good. Just as a way to save time. I've never used a round brush and blow dryer on myself or anyone else. I'm really inexperienced.
I learned so much from this channel I just found! I am so grateful! I was told heat was bad and thought I was protecting my hair by letting it air dry and putting a bunch of detangling creams /products on it. Thank you for the info! I am ready to have a healthy scalp and long healthy hair!🙂
I'm going back watching all your videos. I tried the oil detangling last Saturday before my wash and there was a difference. Now when it came to the wash, and condition I'm so used to combing through during my condition. Instead of a wide tooth comb, used my fingers. It was going good for a while then I noticed a lot of hair coming out. Whether shed hair or breakage, not sure...BUT that was the only time I noticed a lot of hair came out. Usually it's all through out the wash day process. I blow dried my hair after with just a leave in and, of course my scalp was fine all week. No oil, grease or anything. I know I have a lot more to learn, but just these small changes so far I've seen a difference. thank you!
Yes keep it simple and use tools not your fingers. If this way doesn’t work then go back to the old ways with no combs, oils and butter but so far so good. Keep it up love you got this.
See Cyn, you drop so many pearls of wisdom and practical applications. How would we know how to use a round brush for drying and a paddle brush for the cool shot to set or reset the bonds? Awesome!!!
Honey thank you so much for all your tips and advice. Thank you soo much. Thank goodness you talked about not layering too much product evenI already know my hair doesn't like it and it needs to breathe. However there is so much misinformation out there including having to moisturise every day and combing the hair after spritzing with water. Thankfully I was already doing some of the things you suggest but I was following the wetting with a bit of water and so on.
Listening to you is helping. My silk presses are getting better. My scalp has sebum I didn't know it had, lol. I can stretch my silk press 2 weeks, by wrapping or pinning it my hair loves being straight.😊
Just for clarification, the rod sets are supposed to be done on wet hair that has leave in conditioner and mousse or foam then blow dried, right? Not blow dried with conditioner then put mousse/foam with rods? Basically I'm seeking clarification on if the rodding process is on hair that's still wet then dried with foam and rods to _set_ the curls, is the hair that's already been blow dried sectioned and we put foam/mousse & rods to set the curls on blow dried hair😅
Damn, Cyn. There was so much hair in my brush every week when I would wet detangled. How I still have so much hair is beyond me. 😂 thanks as always for educating us. Once I get a few years of your techniques under my belt and I stop losing so much hair I am not gonna know how to act lmao I already know.
Hey Cyn! I just wanted to start off by saying that i was literally praying to God about my hair. I have been struggling so much financially and with my hair and for a woman? That's a double whammy 😂. I feel wholeheartedly He directed me to your page. I had subscribed to you years ago but your videos hadn't popped up in years so that's how i know it was God. You was like the third or fourth video down on my main feed and i came here to listen to a gospel song before bed. Anyways i learned from Watching another video about weathering. I've been practicing those "natural" ways and i realize that is most likely what's happening here. It's not too far gone and God told me a few weeks ago to stop scalp oiling. I'm so glad i listened! My question for you is if you have a different recommendation for a shampoo/cond that can do what olaplex does but not as expensive? I just can't afford it right now. I've been changing my eating habits for quite some time now and will continue in that direction. I have high porosity hair. I took your advice on blow drying my hair after a wash and based off this video i seen where some mistakes on my end was made. I only have the products i have on hand (bought in ignorance listening to them folks). I don't believe i rinsed my hair well and i used a warm setting on my dryer but I'm thinking based off what you're sayin i need to do a cool setting and just take my time! I really appreciate your educating me on this. Thank you in advance for your repsonse and i know it may take you some time. ❤
You have saved me alot of: Time Money Effort Cabinet space Sanity Tangles Hair Loss Question: I deep clean my hair, (do follow with a conditioner & rinse (or) just do a leave-in conditioner following the shampoo?) You always do a lovely job on your clients hair and their hair is so thick!! Do you clients have naturally thick hair or is this from the products you use on their hair?
Thank you for sharing information like this 🙏❤️ So, how do you go about setting your hair? I also have an active sweat glad (natural, 4c, high porosity, struggling with that shaft disorder we refer to as single strand knots).
Its my pleasure. If you have a hair shaft disorder you should get it treated before you think about styling. Everytime you touch your hair you make your disorder worse.

@@IamCynDoll I’ve worn a lot of braids and weaves for the past 15 years in hopes that keeping it protected would help the top catch up with the back of my hair. That approach hasn’t worked, so beginning October 2023 I’ve been getting silk presses every 3 weeks and keep my hair wrapped up unless I’m going out. Thank you.
Cyn, I noticed on two occasions my hair was coming out a lot after the stylists used a shampoo brush in my hair. I feel like my hair is getting caught up in the teeth of the brush, not to mention it's being used during the shampoo process. Please let me know if it is the brush itself or I'm just stressing too much and my hair doesn't like it,lol.
I had a old school hairstylist who did my hair for over 10 years when I had a relaxer. I decided to go natural and my hairstyles didn't work with natural hair. I had to find another hairstylist, so Google was my friend at the moment. I went to someone who had good reviews. However, when she started to go through my hair during the conditioning process, I was wondering what was she using, because I couldn't tell if it was the sound of my hair breaking or the actual sound of the tool when used. I decided, I wouldn't go back to her if that is what will be used in my hair. I went to another hairstylist which was recommended and during the shampoo process she also started to use that tool in my hair. I had to stop her and ask her what kind of brush she was using, it was a hair scalp scrubber. My hair has thinned out since going to these people. I don't want to just chalk it up to technic, because I've been under a lot of stress lately and I feel that some of my hair loss was due to that as well. I did get all my split ends cut off, that is about the only good thing that happened.
Once they get through one cell growth phase of their first hair growth cycle so that’s at about 5/6 years old. It has nothing to do with heat it’s about tension so things including braids and tight ponytails shouldn’t be the normal style for children either. My daughter use to get flexi rod sets and she always dried under the dryer. From 3 to present day.
Does the hair need to be stretched to be healthy? In this video, leave-in conditioner is applied and then a blow dryer is used. Could healthy hair be achieved by applying leave-in conditioner and then sitting under a hooded dryer?
