Never used these but have to admit they look the part. Great for role play styles . Shame the top of the bin can’t be opened to add that final realistic touch .
It's unfortunate there's still a lot of tractors that have a US spec that wasn't implemented in the game, but these augers and grain bins are a great nod to the US community.
Giants do tend to favor Euro Spec because they are a Euro game company but thats why we have the modding community, they make sure we get our fair share of US spec tractors and such.
We do have bins with legs here in the U.S. we aren't just all back woods using augers. Our farm has two bins without legs attached to them and that's it. We farm around 6,000 acres so we need a lot of bin space!
Good auger vid FSG. Glad to see they included the self propelled version of the auger in base game. Trying to line those augers up on the bins can be challenging due to view constraints with a tractor.
Was going to do my own experiment on this after work but this saves me an hour. Thankyou. Question FSG, how do you find the camera panning on the new build mode, I F***ng hate it. Compared to FS 19 you was able to zoom out quite far and pan around the map, get quite close to the object you’re placing and zoom out to get an overview to see how it will look on the farm overall. But the camera now only zooms out so far just about reaches the top of the turbines. Also when you rotate the camera around the object moves which is annoying. I hope they fix this or a mod to make it the same as FS19 Rant of the day over .. another useful tutorial! Thanks again.
definitley a nice for the american players, ill stick to the way its most common in the uk by tipping it onto the ground inside sheds and pushing it up with a telehandler, cant wait for some good british maps to come out as the sheds in the base game are not so suited for holding large amounts of grain
Great video thanks! I was wondering how does the silage additive work? I’ve noticed some forage wagons have a silage additive as a configuration option.
If you have belly dump trailers, you can move the swing hopper out if the way and once the truck is positioned you can move it back underneath. At least that's the way it's supposed to work.
Nice! but why do you need to get this big silo and the augers, if you can use the silos around the map and just, pour them in the floor and fill this silos...?? what are the differences?? thanks!
Have you tried using augers with autodrive? Im having issues getting the unload vehicle to drive under the auger. It's like it detects a collision and will stop just before the auger or belt. Have you had this issue before or know how to fix it?
I've got a question for you FSG: How do the inline bale wrappers work? Tubes of bales? Then how would you pick that up to sell or could you pull one bale out at a time for feed, bedding, etc.?
I can't get the auger to work. I'm all lined up, with the bin, and I dump the grain from the tipper, the animation shows the tipper emptying, but the volume of the tipper doesn't drop. No grain comes out of the auger, and the bin remains empty.
What's the point in going through those extra steps when it does effectively the same thing as the default grain silo that you already have on the map which alreadu has a load and unload trigger right there?
Nice job FSG. One thing I noticed with mine, is that I could only load one crop type at a time which is authentic but required a script from GTX in 19 Have you found the same? If not, maybe I was doing something wrong
@@TheFarmSimGuy Unfortunately I think I might have been experiencing a glitch. Checked again this AM and this time it allowed me to put corn and sunflower in the same bin.
@@The_Ghost_Of_Holliday yes but the shoot is too long and won't for under a gravity wagon and it's a pain go get it lined up under the hoppers on a semi
I'd love to see some kind of tutorial on how this new poplar tree bailing works. Weather it's worth it or not, and if you should just stick to using them for wood chips. Or maybe a look at how cotton and the giant cotton bales work. On an unrelated question, if I plant a field for just grass. does it still work for AI workers to mow and harvest? OR does it basically delete the field?
@@TheFarmSimGuy yeah, i've found this out after i squared off the starting field on in the Haut map (#41 on the road side) turned that into grass and placed a robot cow shed in field #40 now instead. I do think, a big video idea to make next is maybe how the production lines work (in a basic sense) like, how having a building set to "Storing" will make the pallets for moving and stacking, while "Distributing" will send, say flour from a grain mill you own, to a bakery you own, without having ot get AI or crates involved, the stuff just teleports. I'm still not sure how the "Selling" option works, but i assume it just sends it straight to market at whatever rate it's at as it comes in every 200 liters or so. I haven't done any in-depth testing other than using that "government subsidy" mod to give me like 5 million to play around with
@@TheFarmSimGuy I've tried with no mods installed when the game first came out and even the base ones didn't work. I have no idea what could be wrong, it's really frustrating
So, do we need an auger to get fertilizer out of the Meridian SOLID fertilizer tank? Trying to find info on how tf to use the upright solid fertilizer tank is infuriating. Literally NOTHING on how to use those placeable tanks. NOT ONE GD thing on the entire internet.

Thanks FSG, never used the augers before, will give it a go now.
great explanation, looking forward to trying these out, loved the augers we have had in FS19.
Brilliant demo, think I’ll be using this and doing a Welker style bin setup.
Nice Tom! I think the bigger bin holds 1.2 Million Litres so it's a good size
Great video FSG, as always really useful and should be watched by all beginners.
That's very simple and clear, that really helps thanks. Keep up the good work FSG 🙂

hello! Thanks for the clear way of explaining this :) So even a Dummy like me can use this. Thumbs up!
Glad it was helpful! 👍
would be nice if some modders would ad details, like the bin lids opening
Have you tried using augers with autodrive? Im having issues getting the unload vehicle to drive under the auger. It's like it detects a collision and will stop just before the auger or belt. Have you had this issue before or know how to fix it?
You can turn collisions off in Autodrive that should help avoid the issue.
@TheFarmSimGuy unfortunately collision detection is turned off. I can't seem to figure it out. There is something im missing.
I've got a question for you FSG:
How do the inline bale wrappers work? Tubes of bales? Then how would you pick that up to sell or could you pull one bale out at a time for feed, bedding, etc.?
I'll take a look for you Bob, if I can work it out I'll do a tutorial on it.
What’s the benefit to using these vs a regular silo?
Usually used on small farms in the US, where you wouldn’t see huge silo structures but just another way to play really, not much more than that
I can't get the auger to work. I'm all lined up, with the bin, and I dump the grain from the tipper, the animation shows the tipper emptying, but the volume of the tipper doesn't drop. No grain comes out of the auger, and the bin remains empty.

Immersion really, all down to player preference and play style
Hey farm sim guy I'm curious can you unload a super b trailer into that meridian silo?
Why use an augur silo versus a silo you fill by dropping grain on a grate ?
Just variety, if you are a US player these silos are a lot more common so if people want to play more authentically this gives them that option 👍
Hey Quick question. It is something called sugarbeets cuts. How can i make/ harvest that? i only find sugarbeets
There is a special front end loader bucket with an auger in it, it is what cuts the sugar beets up for use. or, you can use it like a standard bucket.

I think it will become my favorite when mods become more established
