When I purchased my latest handgun, I was looking for a DA/SA home defense gun. I had narrowed my list down to these two guns. I was leaning CZ due to liking the looks better and is decocker only. Locally I couldn't find one under $479, so when I found a Storm for $369 the savings persuaded me and I bought it. I was iffy on it at first, especially the looks, but then I took it to the range. I have to say I love it. 100% reliable and very accurate. I now have a D spring in it and converted it to a G model and like it even more. It is an awesome gun.
I have the PX4 Storm Compact Carry with the Langdon Tactical trigger job, which is essentially just changing the D weight mainspring (16 pounds) for a lighter spring. The trigger pull in both double and single action are dropped by over a pound by that two minute spring swap. The Compact Carry is plenty accurate. The short sight radius may hurt a little in slow fire, longer range shooting, but at defensive ranges within 25 yards it's not an issue. My times and accuracy have actually improved since I made the switch from a Glock 19 to the Beretta as my typical everyday compact carry gun.
I bought the PX4 Compact after too many youtube videos that had nothing bad to say about the gun. I've had it for just over a week with 50 rds thru it and NO BUYERS REMORSE. I did redo the sights with sight paint ( florescent orange in front, florescent green on the rear ) and added grippon grip textures. Would like to have stippling professionally done but these make a nice difference in the feel. I am shooting this gun at 30 yards and am very pleased with its and my accuracy. This one is a keeper. It replaced my 1911. As for the standard compact such as mine..no issues with any of the standard parts.
I have two PX4 CC pistols. They are a great size, accurate, and can have an even better trigger by simply installing a Wilson Combat 12# hammer spring. I’ve did, and have had 100% reliability with a range of ammo. I’m getting 6.5lbs DA, and 3.75lb SA readings on digital Lyman gauge. Ernest Langdon is using a modified WC spring, that comes in under more around 11# on his trigger jobs. Thanks for sharing!
I love my p-07. I had my slide done up by jaegerwerks and stippled the frame. Threw in a primary machine match threaded barrel and a micro comp. thinking of getting her cajun’d up soon as well. CZ’s are just great guns. Thanks J.
Cosmoline Fiend I've heard great things about CGW but please also check out vids on the MCarbo trigger kit. People are seeing DA/SA pulls like 6.75/2.5 lbs. Compatible with Omega systems. Cheers.
@@MadLadsAnonymous buddy has a cajunized p07 and i had a stock p07... i was in the same boat as you but decided to take a chance and the MCARBO kit literally gave the same results at $30 only difference is the CGW package has a little bit better of a reset for 10x the price and 3-4 months of sending it away
I’ve owned the Beretta PX 4 storm full-size 9 mm for about eight years put over 3000 rounds in it, not one issue ...unbelievable smooth, very low recoil, extremely accurate and great feel in hand. I think I’m gonna have to get this one as well , smaller easier to carry concealed !
PX4 here is compact 3.25” barrel version, full version is 4”. The P-07 is 3.75” barrel. This is also something to consider for accuracy comparisons and comfort
They did the px4 carry and compact carry. However if they made the entire lineup with their carry upgrades and slide precut for red dot it would be perfect ❤
Totally agree. They should make a PX4 Performance model with the competition trigger group, steel guide rod, steel trigger, adjustable fiber optic sights and a more aggressive texture.
@@gutblaster187 They are the same over here in Asia (probably more so given how small the firearm market is). CZ and Glock dominate the handgun market over here. I have to jump through hoops to find upgrade parts and accessories for my Berettas.
I just love the Beretta px4 storm. Safety features are evident . Made of stronger material. Beretta is known for quality. This gun is nicknamed ' Pitbull ' .Thank you for a very informative presentation.👍👍👍
Interesting review. I’ve used both pistols & have found the Beretta to be the higher performer for me. Good points on the post incident feedback as many don’t realize they will lose their pistols afterwards...
Nice review! I just purchased the PX4 Compact Carry and am exited to shoot it. I have owned a standard sized PX4 in .40 for a lot of years which has been supremely reliable but the total package of this LTT inspired 9mm was just to much to pass on, regardless of price. As far as CZ, I do not own a P07 but i have had a P10C since they were first introduced and one cannot argue that they make a fantastic product; interestingly, I will say that the stippling on the the P10C is also very aggressive and probably my only “negative” critique of the pistol from an IWB carry perspective. At any rate, I am stoked about the possibilities of the Compact Carry as an EDC which would replace my current G23. I will try to get back and update after a few weeks. Stay safe!
It is now October, 2021 - thanks for all your honest, thorough reviews, J. He gave up on this useful, interesting channel because of all the undeserved negativity about his simply being an LEO.
I think the CZ P-07 is just a fantastic gun for the price. Accurate, durable, good trigger, built well, and very good ergonomics. One of my favorite handguns to carry or take to the range.
I just came across this video. I watch you all the time and haven’t seen anything new for awhile. Thanks for what do in your videos. I like the p07 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I think that the CZ P07 is a really over looked gun in the mid-size handgun world. 1. It comes stock with metal night sights 2. DA/Sa 3. Low-bore axis 4.Metal Mag 5. CZ reliability 6. Great ergonomics 7.Ambi-controls 8. Front and rear slide serrations 9. Omega trigger 10. It’s a CZ (like saying, it’s a Porsche, reliable, good to look at and always looked over)
Good vidio, i enjoyed your presentation. I own a px4 compact. I have found it to be flawless after many rounds. I shoot both rt and lft handed and it handles great. Very well designed. Thanks
Late comment, great vid. I have owned both, didn't like the P07, good gun, just didn't fit my hand right, I EDC a px4 compact carry. Love it, have over 4000 rounds through it and I have not had one failure today. Steel, aluminum, cheap brass, all runs. For me it was worth the extra money
Uncertain if you read late comments. Very complete and fair review, thank you. I own an LTT PX4 Compact Carry, and I think it’s a great gun. I’m struggling to get comfortable with carrying it as my usual carry is a P365 XL Spectre comp. I was considering a P07 or P01, however your comments regarding the simplicity of design and maintenance of the storm convinced me to save some money on that purchase. Regarding accuracy, to me, these guns are a defensive weapon meant for close range defensive situations, long rage accuracy is not a primary concern for me. Regarding price, you get what you pay for. The LTT trigger on my storm is fantastic, full stop. To each their own and most people won’t be disappointed with either choice.
Thank you for your time and knowledge/teaching of these 2 beauties!! Just bought the Beretta PX4 Storm Compact. I needed to see what I was up against and you nailed it in my option... very honest and professional, might I add! 👍💥👌
I own a P-07 and love it's features and accuracy right out of the box. I obtained my CCW permit with it. I found a PX4 Storm at a local pawn shop for $336 and couldn't pass that up. Happy with both guns.
@Michael Shearer I hear people say this often. I guess beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder because to my eye the PX4 is a very attractive gun. Most people that shoot them tend to like them and they seem to have a pretty solid reputation overall. PX4 in .45 was the first gun I ever bought and I still love it. The only negative I can say is it may have too much of a "sci-fi" look I guess. This might make it seem kinda toy-like to some people which can give the wrong impressions.
I think the Px4 and the Cx4 are very appealing in a unique, futuristic kind of way. I don't particularly care for the safety/decocker wings on the Px4 but overall neat design. What the industry needs is willful and intentional departures from the boring "glock copy". Px4: check Remington R51: check (despite it's overall failure as a product) Archon TypeB: definite check! Taurus Curve and Spectrum: check..... Get INNOVATIVE gun makers. We want reliability, yes. But people also like character. If we didn't, all of our cars would look like those boxy little European putt-putts.
I actually love its looks. However it's ergonomics are atrocious. The slide mounted decocker is really what pushed me over the not liking it edge. I shoot my freinds PX4 from time to time and I can just never like it. Works fine, just not for everyone.
I’d say that is entirely accurate! I like both and fired both, love the looks of both equally... At the end of the day I went with the one that was available for purchase🤷🏻♂️ P07👍🏼. Only gun I truly ever thought was ugly was an Apx and a hi point being the ugliest lol But I own an Apx now and would never part with it.
I've owned both, still own the PX4. Both guns were reliable, but the PX4 is better in every aspect except slide/barrel finish and grip texture. The PX4 is ugly to most, but it's been so good that I've grown to love it. The P07 does have a better aftermarket, the PX4 is limited to Beretta or Landon. The PX4 full size .40 is one of the softest shooting polymer .40's that I've ever shot.
Great video!!! I'm so glad to see the PX4 finally getting some love... very underrated/unappreciated for so long. You correctly pointed out that - if you were to get all the changes/upgrades found on the Carry/Compact Carry - you would save money in the long run (even more so, if the owner couldn't DIY). As for the price comparison, IMHO the more accurate match up would be with the standard PX4 Compact. This is the route I took. I picked up an Inox Compact and loved it out of the box, but I was surprised at the significant impact a relatively small investment made: $9-12 hammer spring swap $17 for the Talons, and $40-75 to swap out the decocker levers (if not, the PX4 can be converted to Type-G - decocker only - in about 15 minutes, for FREE). I still may swap the sites out, at some point, but I haven't felt the need to do much more with it... just an incredibly good and flat shooter!
I finally ordered & installed the 11# hammer spring from Langdon Tactical (LTT)... again - WOW! Another significant decrease in DA/SA trigger pull weight and overall improvement of action. For $12, you can't beat it... LOVE IT! :)
@Jay The Security Guy It's about as night/day different as when I first installed the D-spring. Right away, I noticed a significant difference :) Basically, you have the following for a PX4, with a stock trigger: Stock spring: DA 9.9# / SA 5.1# D-spring: DA 8# / SA 4.5# 12# spring (LTT): DA 7-8# / SA 4# 11# spring (LTT): DA 6-7# / SA 3.5-4# Excerpts from LTT: "The 11# and 12# hammer springs are both acceptable for duty and competition use in the PX4. We use the 11# hammer springs in the PX4's on all of our trigger jobs now given the extensive testing and performance. It is highly recommended The D model hammer spring in the PX4 from Beretta is 'about a 12.5# spring' "
yeah right on Ken, I put the Wilson Combat spring kit in my Beretta 92FS all five springs and it made the pull 1/2 of how it comes and very smooth both double and single actions were dramatically improved and I bought the kit for 20 bucks from Cheaper than Dirt. That was some of the best money I ever spent on improving a firearm. Using all five springs is key to ensure you get the best bang for your buck and you'll need a nice punch set to install the three springs in the slide. There are multiple videos out on how to do it. It makes an already great gun into a really great shooting gun that you will always take along on range day.
Got a px4 storm when they first came out loved it but my wife at the time loved it more so I let her keep it. Recently bought a po7 and it’s a fantastic gun. I’m a da/sa type of guy. Im going to have to get another px4 storm in the future but the Landon tactical this time.
Wow prices are different now, 3 years later. For the full soze of both, cz is $600 and the cx4 is $505 after the $75 rebate that they have this summer. Great video, I’m going with the beretta!!
I own a Px4 Storm full size. It’s accuracy, reliability, durability, technology, and safety features are way up there. Added bonus, it has the Italian flare in design that makes it distinctively look different and attractive like a Ferrari or Lamborghini.
Have both a P-07 Duty and PX4 Compact (converted to “G” decocker-only), and to ask me which one I prefer would depend on the mood I wake up in, as I shoot both of them equally as well and have no clear cut favorite and they share carry time for EDC. Love all my “old-school” DA/SA and real DAO hammer-fired handguns, but especially my CZ’s and Beretta’s!
Thanks Jay. Really enjoy these comparisons. Thank you for doing them. I own both of these pistols and as much as I like the Beretta, I shoot the CZ P07 better. Happy New Year!
I have shot many carry sized guns like the G19, the P229, the CZ P01, and the PX4 CC, and for me personally I have shot the PX4 better than any of them. Ergos are great, trigger is great, sights are great (defensive shooting). It has been my favorite carry gun just ahead of the smaller G26 and the P224 ( both of which I also love).
I really liked how this turned into a 3 gun review. I'm looking for a new EDC gun. I used to carry a CZ-75 back in the steel gun days and loved it. I have been carrying a Glock 19, but I want to switch back to a DA/SA for liability reasons. You have given me a lot to think about. Its probably going to come down to availability, feel, and price in my local area.
PX4 is a hidden gem, shot my friends and it shot great. Regarding the P-07 (Duty), Nutnfancy and some others stated the earlier ones had issues but it seems to have changed for the better.
I now own both of these pistols. --- I just got my PX4 Storm Compact Carry-2. I really like the recessed hammer, and really like the orange-red glow front sight. It's very easy to line up on target. Try it, you'll like it. - I have to say its trigger is the absolute best there is compared to all the other DA pistols I have - velvety smooth and precise DA action each and every time. -- One thing I think will really surprise new users of this weapon is the decocker. When I first racked it for dry-fire and used the decocker, I expected a soft seating of the hammer like on my other DA pistols. My CZ-P07 decocker is the best - it gently seats the hammer to half-cock. - Well, the decocker on the PX4 CC2 releases the hammer with a seemingly full trigger force. I thought:- Oh boy -- that's not good! - It felt like decocking the hammer would certainly fire the pistol. The hammer force in decocking felt exactly the same as dry-firing it. - So, put my trusty 9mm laser round in it - decocked it - the hammer came down hard, but no laser fire. Dry-fired it and the laser lit up on the wall. Did both several times with the same result - decocking doesn't activate the laser round while firing the pistol does. Since Beretta does not cover this very strange phenomenon in their manual or in any review I've seen so far, including this one, can someone please explain how the hammer on the PX4 CC2 coming down with seemingly full firing force while decocking does not fire the pistol? Thanks.
The first pistol I bought was a PX4 Storm ( full sized ) .. Still have it.. The last pistol that I bought is a CZ P07 Suppressor Ready.. So, an interesting comparison..
Thank You Glad somebody compared these two firearms. I own the P07 and I'm looking at the PX4 to purchase. Value your opinion since you are a straight shooter.
I've had the P-07 for a year now. Have put 1000's of rounds through it and not one misfire or failure to feed. Looking forward to buying the new CZ P-10-s that just was displayed at Shot Show 2019.
I agree, CZ is a lot of gun for the money, great firearm. However, I made a decision to sell one of my 3, 9mm compacts and sold my CZ P-07 and kept my Glock 19 and PX4 C. It took me a while to get used to it , but once I started shooting more and making some minor modifications , the PX4 is my favorite carry more so than my G19. Even though the PX4 is a bit heavier, Overall, the PX4 gives me tighter groups and less recoil for sure,. Gun is very comfortable carrying AIWB . Now im looking forward to get a PX4 C in 40 S&W.
The gun in the video is a PX4 Compact Carry, not the regular production PX4 Compact. The PX4CC is indeed around $800.00 vs. the $450.00 range for the basic Beretta version.
I Cajunized my P07, now is more expensive than a Glock or a PX4 but is custom, smooth, super reliable and works really really good. Since I have big hands my pinky jugs the edge of the P07 grip so I bought a P09 magazine and installed "The NULL: CZ P07 19 Round Magazine Adapter Sleeve" to the magazine. If you have big hands or like more capacity this is the way to go.
I personally prefer my P-07 (especially at its price compared tp the PX4 Storm Compact) and it's not surprising that it's my EDC. I like the size, how it looks, and how little the muzzle flip is when I shoot compared to my Sig P320. The ergonomics are great and I love the beavertail on the grip which makes it so comfortable to get your hand under. If you want a gun with more aftermarket support, the CZ P07 (and the larger P09) would be the one to get. Those folks at Cajun Gunworks make magic happen if you are willing to pay for it. There are also more optic friendly custom cuts you can get from various companies and lighting cuts to lighten up the slide. While I've never shot a PX4 Storm Compact before, I've shot the full size variant plenty of time. I hate to admit it but for some reason I shoot way better on the PX4 Storm. For how large the slide is, the PX4 is a very flat shooting gun. I actually prefer the recoil impulse on the PX4 Storm. It's one of the easiest guns to take apart and maintain as well. I also like the futuristic 80s Sci-Fi look it has going. You can also get a Langdon slide if you want it to be optics ready. The only two gripe I have with the PX4 Storm is the safety/decocker and the smooth grip. The safety/decocker stabs my fingers when I rack the slide quickly and I'm afraid of accidentally flipping on the safety in an environment where I need my gun to work. No doubt this can be accounted for with training though and the compact's wing safety/decocker doesn't look as sharp. You can always get the G model or buy the parts to make the PX4 Storm a decocker only. The grip on the PX4 Storm is great on the front strap and back strap, but the sides are so smooth (especially for your support hand to really lockdown the grip). Talon grips or a custom stipple job would be the way to go for me. You really can't go wrong with either gun and it comes down to preference. I would be happy with either one.
@@2ndAdvent888 I personally use a Harry's Holsters Singleton with my P07. I carry AIWB and it's perfect during Autumn/Winter. This isn't left hand friendly though and can be picky with some aftermarket sights. I never bought an OWB holster for it so I can't comment on that. I do have a Vedder RapidTuck for my PX4 Storm and I like that a lot. You can customize it to fit your hand orientation, with an optic, and leather for comfort. I might get one for my CZ P07 down the line, but my Harry's Holster has worked well so far for what I need.
PX4 series is so underrated partly because Beretta is terrible at marketing their product. That being said you can get great deals on them. I got my PX4 inox 9mm full size on Black Friday for $470 so i''m pretty happy with that. I was in the market for a compact pistol for CCW and was heavily leaning towards a Glock 19,CZ P-07 or CZ P10-C. The PX4 shoots so flat in rapid fire and the trigger is so smooth. The DA is heavy and long (not a bad thing) and the SA is crisp. Best thing is that it can be improved as well as the decocker, guide rod, sights, etc. I agree the PX4 is ugly but once you shoot it you learn to love it. Those who own them know what I'm talking about. Full size model holds 17+1 because more is better (flush). I upgraded mine with the competition trigger group from Beretta, 11 lb hammer spring, steel guide rod, Ameriglo sights, a few 20 round magazines and a quality holster. The trigger and the action are super smooth now.
I know I’m late to the game here but owning and shooting both I’d say that the PX4 is without question my favorite carry. It shoots like a much large gun and the rotating barrel is not a gimmick. They are both incredibly reliable using factory ammo and takedown and cleaning is simple and easy for both though I’d give the nod the PX4. I love my CZs in general but for carry the Storm is my choice.
"My daughter is getting ready for college and..." I recall, in Denver many years ago, a pawn shop advertised a "Back to School Sale" for guns. The ad didn't go over very well (the shop quickly claimed it was "a mistake").
First, Thank-you for pointing out the value of civility in comments. I'm getting tired of trash talk on topics. Regarding the pistols okay the CZ, but I'm not a SA/DA fellow. Lot of my friends carry them they are great! Me, just don't care for it? However, thats because I'm a 1911 or revolver person. Yea, I'm a dinosaur, lol! But, I do carry a striker fired pistol daily! Solid presentation, Thank-you!
P07 is the best pistol I’ve ever had. Only reason I got rid of it was because I got an SP01 tactical and I just didn’t want polymer guns anymore. CZ for life.
Great, fair and honest review! One thing I’d add that’s just my opinion on why I think the P07 has a phenomenal SA trigger. I don’t want a wall in my pull, especially if I have to defend myself in a gunfight. The 07 is like a “caddy” as they used to say. It’s smooth and you don’t notice it. Once my finger goes inside the guard it’s time to pull. A wall complicates accuracy on a pull. But it’s become the way to describe the break of the trigger pull itself. With that being said, having a noticeable reset is a good thing if you have a little to much over travel. And it’s hard to have one without the other. So to everyone who buys a SD pistol, practice as much as possible. As someone who is in love with Baretta’s you can never go wrong with one. But to me the storm is ugly. The 07 with $160 of Cajun is an insane pistol. Right at $600 ish total. The grittiness of the DA on the P07 is from the coated frame side of the trigger bar. It’s rubbing against the non coated trigger spring that’s pressing the porous poly frame. Polish the bar and it’s golden. Or shoot a lot! Lol. Sometimes the frame needs to be smoothed but usually that takes care of it.
👍Good review👍Thx. Good info. Much appreciation. The PX4 SubComp. (40) is my next purchase. Hoping Beretta will address the slipperiness on grip. If not, I’ll get my skateboard tape back out- Having said that....”CZ gritty”???? I’ve had great luck w/CZ trigger. I really like the trigger double bar design. (Smith & Wesson should take note w/ their M&P Shield) My 75 & 2075 RAMI. Yes, that “Pin” is high maintenance.... CZ says 500 to 600 round cycles. Also, guide rod springs @ same replacement intervals. Not a fan of that at all but I stay w/ the manufactures recommendations to keep that “snappiness” - Thx again. Thx👍🇺🇸🔫
Thanks for the review, but seriously if you are going to buy a pistol for concealed carry that your family and your life may very well depend on, how can anyone raise a concern about the police confiscating a $800 weapon as evidence, vs a cheaper $600 gun? In my opinion that has to be the strangest reason I have ever heard for determining what handgun you will purchase to protect your family and your own life. The only issue for me is which weapon will work best for me to achieve that goal, period.
Exactly what I was thinking. Enjoying the review and then he drops that head scratcher. Ya, be pound foolish on plinking and range guns but if you're looking to save money in your firearm budget, do it on the one gun you might actually use for its intended purpose - saving your life.
px4 rear sight was off shooting right after adjustment perfect...honestly went that day to purchase vp9sk and always thought px4 was ugly in pics when my dealer casually bought it out and I personally favor da/sa daily carry i immediately bought it on spot..i guess its not photogenic but in reality its gorgeous...only shot 200 rds prior to writting this and I must say my impulsive buy was worth it.
Watching this 4 years later as I was in the same place picking between the two, got P07 eventually, just couldn’t justify the price difference. Don’t get me wrong I could afford both with no problem but I don’t think PX4 Storm is a good deal at that price point. P07 on the other hand, is a steal to me.
Good video. Your audio track was a little off (not synced). I am of the same opinion as you, but I'm not sure how I'd feel if we were comparing a Beretta PX4 Storm compact with a CZ P-01 Compact.
Great job 👍 . Two very nice guns . I have always wanted to but never shot the full-size PX4 . I posted a few short videos of my new dream purchase . The Sig Sauer p226 Legion Sao 9mm . What a great shooting gun .
I liked this comparison very much. I am looking for a new CCW and was curious if you could do a comparison between the Beretta PX4 Storm Compact Carry 2 and the CZ-75 Compact. I currently have a Sig Sauer P 365x Macro ... how would you compare all 3?
Love to see a comparison with one of these and the HK P2000. I feel like that is another good polymer overlooked DA/SA ccw. I'll admit, needs a gray guns short reset kit and maybe a lighter hammer spring to make the trigger desireable.
summer 2022 I compared 5 pistols, including these two. (PX4 subcompact used in 40 cal, $529.) My budget for a gun is $600 unless it is really special. I agree, expensive carry guns are looking to be "lost" if they ever go into an evidence locker. I wanted a da/sa with decocker, decocker & safety preferably. Kicker - I wanted 357 SIG. No one makes 357 SIG now except Glock. The CZ ergonomics were, IMO, terrible, which surprised me. The PX4 was really good, but I looked for 357 sig too long, it sold. Would have been my second choice. Found an H&K P2000sk in 9mm, $599. Called HK US HQ, in the industrial park where I used to work. Maybe the same building. No, I had no chance of them ever making one again in 357 SIG. Took my wife for a weekend trip. The one in stock sold. New price, when they get one in, is $749. The H&K would have been the choice IF I could buy one at $599, which you can't anymore. Px4 would have been a close second. Bought a Glock 33 in 357 SIG, sensational gun, other than being striker fired. 357 SIG is what 9mm wishes it was. Glock $499 plus tax. I like striker fired and Glock, but will not carry chambered, which lead to the search for a da/sa. I know all the chambered vs not chambered arguments, don't bother commenting Also bought a Taurus TH9c in 9mm. Da/sa safety/decocker two mags, $301 including taxes. About 250 rounds through it. Trigger is a little gritty, magazine release needs some work. Otherwise excellent. I shoot groups better than with the H&K I tried out. For $830, I have two carry guns, but if anybody can find a new 357 SIG da/sa at a reasonable price, I'm interested.
I don't care how ugly people say a gun is!!Love my PX4 Storm..Mick Jagger is ugly but that guy has scored more women than everyone on this page combined...And i am looking @ CZ lately..It won't be long and i will get something new...Great Post my friend..keep em going...
PX4 is $539.99 at Sportsman's Warehouse (regular price) P07 is $479.99 (regular price) $60 difference. I have the full size PX4, I really like it. Good video
Thanks for this video, brother. It got me interested in the PX4 Compact. One finally showed up at my LGS for 389.00 and I went to check it out. Very nice gun for sure. Trigger is really good stock. However, the trigger reach for me was a little too long. I will stick with my P07 that has served me very well. I would for sure suggest people to take a look at both though!
Nice review. It sounds like the Cadillac is the PX4CC. Although its pricey; I wonder if you do the trigger job, and add the upgraded sights to the CZ, you'd be a lot closer to the price of the PX4CC.
Good review. I’d go with the one that gives the best groups and best price. Very subjective but the P07 looks better to me. Cost of magazines would have been a nice addition to you’re good review.
The low price point of the P-07 and how close it is to the $800 Beretta is very compelling. I'm debating whether I should send this off to get a cajunized and do a rematch 🤔
J Helmsing The cajunized guns & parts get very good reviews. I am contemplating a CZ P09, or a CZ P07 for my next center fire pistol. If I get one of the above models I won’t hesitate to put the extra approximately $200.00 dollars in it for Cajun Gun Works parts, from the reviews I’ve read it’s well worth it.
Which fighter is "Better" Ju Jitsu or Shaolin Kung Fu? Who practiced better? Liking & shooting one better is all about Me. And I enjoy customizing my pistols. Right out of the box...the beretta is about as good as it is going to get. I can Change the Beretta but I am unlikely to Improve anything.. Now the CZ Can be Greatly improved. Unfortunately, it needs Great improvement.. Fortunately it isn't very hard. Three springs & a boatload of polishing worked so well I upgraded with Cajun Gun Works internals. Reduced DA from 13 lbs to a smooth non stacking 8.5 lbs, SA from 4.5 to a candy cane break @ 3.5 lbs That much work on the Beretta would have been nicer not Improved...
How do you like these compared to the Sig X-carry? I was looking at the X-carry and the PX4 Compact carry. I tried the PX4 compact (not carry) at my local range (rental) but the trigger felt like it was rough at times and unpredictable here and there- it felt like the gun was gummed up and needed to be cleaned, which is very likely. I almost wish I had a friend who owned and maintained one so I could try it out. I found out I’m not really a fan of DA/SA, especially since I have smaller hands and in DA, the trigger is farther forward and harder for me to reach, so I’m using more of my finger tip which causes me to pull the trigger to the side instead of straight rearward. I’m looking at the Sig X-carry now. I own a Glock 19 and M&P 2.0, but I’m looking for something else to spend my tax return on haha.
I like da/sa guns so I actually carry the PX4 quite often. That said, nothing wrong with preferring striker guns, and it is hard to go wrong with the X-Carry. I recently picked up an X-Carry pro model and I'm in the process of mounting and cowitnessing a deltapoint pro. It's a hoot to shoot.
J Helmsing, thanks for your response. I haven’t heard of the X-Carry Pro...I guess I have some more research to do. BTW, I’m newer to your channel, but I like your content and your honest approach. Keep up the good work.
How would you compare the Sig SP2022 to these two? Mainly the trigger pull and ergos. I agree with your opinion on the dumb mag base of the Sig but just was curious on your thoughts about the other points.
The SP2022 is as good a Sig as any 226 or 229. Mine (9mm) has not given me the slightest hint of trouble in my 2 years of ownership. And it is a joy to shoot!
Yes, the overall cartridge length is critical with reloads in the PX-4 compact (and the regular PX-4) so hand loads 'by the book' may not work as well as preferred until you get that set for these particular pistols. Problem solved by getting hold of a used 'test barrel' (far cheaper than a new barrel) for the Beretta to check fit & length before assuming the hand loads will work.
Nice review, and while I do think the Beretta is priced too high - I have to say I don't understand your rationale for an arbitrary $600 price limit on a carry gun. First, the odds of being in a shooting are extremely low. But if I get in one, I want the best firearm - for me - that I can find. That means one that I have confidence in, and practice with. Whether that costs $400 or $1,200 - what is your life worth?
I've always wanted a PX4. The midsize one looks perfect. The compact looks goofy as heck. And I have a P07: nearly perfect until I put MCarbo spring kit in it. Now it's 99%. MCarbo kit is a game changer.
The LTT trigger job is not simply a matter of changing the hammer spring.
25 yards is maybe long for a defensive scenerio i think
@@raymondmaglaris4149he said within.
The P07 is a great gun. I've dunked mine in snow and mud and it still ran fine. That was with cheap steel Wolf ammo too.
I think you should own two different pistol instead of owning two similar pistol that why you can understand which one is more effeciant.
And now LTT has a new trigger bar that improves travel and reset. Making the px4 the best polymer trigger in the market !!!
the beretta 90 hammer springs fit the PX4?
I love my p-07. I had my slide done up by jaegerwerks and stippled the frame. Threw in a primary machine match threaded barrel and a micro comp. thinking of getting her cajun’d up soon as well. CZ’s are just great guns. Thanks J.
Cosmoline Fiend I've heard great things about CGW but please also check out vids on the MCarbo trigger kit. People are seeing DA/SA pulls like 6.75/2.5 lbs. Compatible with Omega systems. Cheers.
@@MadLadsAnonymous buddy has a cajunized p07 and i had a stock p07...
i was in the same boat as you but decided to take a chance and the MCARBO kit literally gave the same results at $30
only difference is the CGW package has a little bit better of a reset for 10x the price and 3-4 months of sending it away
Beretta Px4 Storm Rules and so does the CZ P-07. Both are superb firearms
The PX4 is nearly the perfect DA/SA carry gun. Beretta just needs to do a slight refresh like they did with the 92.
@@IvanRiveraStagea That would be nice👍 Of all European gun companies, they seem perhaps the most indifferent to the US civilian market.
@@gutblaster187 They are the same over here in Asia (probably more so given how small the firearm market is). CZ and Glock dominate the handgun market over here. I have to jump through hoops to find upgrade parts and accessories for my Berettas.
@@IvanRiveraStageathey seem pretty content to let Langdon tactical churn those out.
I just love the Beretta px4 storm. Safety features are evident . Made of stronger material. Beretta is known for quality. This gun is nicknamed ' Pitbull ' .Thank you for a very informative presentation.👍👍👍
I didn’t know that it was nicknamed that, is that just for the compact or the full size as well?
I will never sell mine!
@@GayPrideHD full size and it is a stocky gun therefore it was named Pitbul.
@@robertstotesbury8005 And please sell your arse. 🤣
If you use photo editor and edit out rail, just to get an idea, it's actually a pretty slim handgun with low bore axis. The rail makes it look fat.
Stay safe!
I own a PX4 Storm in 9mm. Awesome handgun.
Has anyone ever told you that you look like you would be related to Teddy Roosevelt?
Tom V-Bitch .🤣😂🤣😂
It is now October, 2021 - thanks for all your honest, thorough reviews, J. He gave up on this useful, interesting channel because of all the undeserved negativity about his simply being an LEO.
I think the CZ P-07 is just a fantastic gun for the price. Accurate, durable, good trigger, built well, and very good ergonomics. One of my favorite handguns to carry or take to the range.
Range Randy well good for you randy. Why don’t you give us your pocket dump edc while you’re at it.
Thanks
Great vid man. I’m making the switch to the da/sa persuasion. This was really helpful.
Great video! Thank you. It is so awesome when you get someone comparing exactly what you wanted.
Good comparison. Unfortunately the PX4 doesn't get enough attention due to it's looks.
Px4: check
Remington R51: check (despite it's overall failure as a product)
Archon TypeB: definite check!
Taurus Curve and Spectrum: check.....
Get INNOVATIVE gun makers. We want reliability, yes. But people also like character. If we didn't, all of our cars would look like those boxy little European putt-putts.
Maybe i dont get out enough, but i think the px4 looks like it means business. I sure like it
I own a Px4 sc and love it, I think its good looking firearm and so is the P07.. infact I like the P07 so much I bought 2.
I actually love its looks. However it's ergonomics are atrocious. The slide mounted decocker is really what pushed me over the not liking it edge. I shoot my freinds PX4 from time to time and I can just never like it. Works fine, just not for everyone.
In 2021, it’s nice to go back to a time when a knowledgeable reviewer compared two things in a thoughtful, informative and comprehensive manner.
Right away, I noticed a significant difference :) Basically, you have the following for a PX4, with a stock trigger:
Stock spring: DA 9.9# / SA 5.1#
D-spring: DA 8# / SA 4.5#
12# spring (LTT): DA 7-8# / SA 4#
11# spring (LTT): DA 6-7# / SA 3.5-4#
Excerpts from LTT: "The 11# and 12# hammer springs are both acceptable
for duty and competition use in the PX4. We use the 11# hammer springs in the PX4's on all of our trigger jobs now given the extensive testing and performance.
It is highly recommended
The D model hammer spring in the PX4 from Beretta is 'about a 12.5# spring' "
@Jay The Security Guy awesome! I look forward 2 hearing what you think :-)
found a PXSTORM Subcompact in both 40 and 9 at a local place for $350 used but mint. I already have the P07 and love it.
yeah right on Ken, I put the Wilson Combat spring kit in my Beretta 92FS all five springs and it made the pull 1/2 of how it comes and very smooth both double and single actions were dramatically improved and I bought the kit for 20 bucks from Cheaper than Dirt.
Love my P07. Probably my favorite gun.
P07 for me
Beautiful Tasha.....and you for me!
Not creepy at all...
Thanks Jay. Really enjoy these comparisons. Thank you for doing them. I own both of these pistols and as much as I like the Beretta, I shoot the CZ P07 better. Happy New Year!
Where are you? I really enjoyed the videos.
Not sure if you are saying that his P-07 is a duty or not, but his is a Gen2 (non-duty)
Why did you shoot your friends? :P

Thanks.
Great honest review,Most gun reviews I've seen have someone humping 1 gun over the other as soon as the camera comes on.Po7 for me.Thx J
I own the PX4 Compact and really enjoy it and now I am looking for a P07.
Just bought a PX4 Storm compact today for $479 + tax at Academy Sports.
Agree can you recommend an EDC holster for P07. Thank you!
I'm a pretty big Beretta fan, and own 2 guns from them. Great guns, horrible marketing; is how I always refer to them.
I bought the Barrett Storm for my daughter. She loves it. Looks great and gets the job done. That being said I'll take my Kimber 45 all day long.
Nice comparison...both are worthy contenders for sure but (for me) the CZ 75d PCR still rocks my cc world!
Thanks J.........you should do more of these comparisons, appreciate your take. Thank you!
My daughter is getting ready for college and wants to take my M&P. So it’s time for a new semiautomatic.
"My daughter is getting ready for college and..." I recall, in Denver many years ago, a pawn shop advertised a "Back to School Sale" for guns. The ad didn't go over very well (the shop quickly claimed it was "a mistake").
Thks. U have addressed the issue logically.
The CZs have been so cheap lately. I picked up a P-09 for $365 brand new. I could hardly believe it.
With CGW parts you could have a nice CZ for under $550 easy.

Thank you for the intro!
Seriosuly debating between the 2..
Knowing it's gonna be both.lol
More like which one first
P07 is the best pistol I’ve ever had.
If not, I’ll get my skateboard tape back out-
Having said that....”CZ gritty”????
I’ve had great luck w/CZ trigger. I really like the trigger double bar design. (Smith & Wesson should take note w/ their M&P Shield)
My 75 & 2075 RAMI. Yes, that “Pin” is high maintenance.... CZ says 500 to 600 round cycles. Also, guide rod springs @ same replacement intervals. Not a fan of that at all but I stay w/ the manufactures recommendations to keep that “snappiness” -
Thx again.
I do like my po7 and have always wanted a px4 and I like the compact carry option. I may have to look into it.
px4 rear sight was off shooting right after adjustment perfect...honestly went that day to purchase vp9sk and always thought px4 was ugly in pics when my dealer casually bought it out and I personally favor da/sa daily carry i immediately bought it on spot..i guess its not photogenic but in reality its gorgeous...only shot 200 rds prior to writting this and I must say my impulsive buy was worth it.
I can't believe people dont like the looks of the PX4. It's incredibly handsome in my opinion, and probably the best polymer framed gun on the market.
I currently have a Sig Sauer P 365x Macro ... how would you compare all 3?
hat Sig is a cheap piece of crap......the other two are far better
Love to see a comparison with one of these and the HK P2000. I feel like that is another good polymer overlooked DA/SA ccw. I'll admit, needs a gray guns short reset kit and maybe a lighter hammer spring to make the trigger desireable.
Positivity is always welcome! Nice job
summer 2022 I compared 5 pistols, including these two. (PX4 subcompact used in 40 cal, $529.)
My budget for a gun is $600 unless it is really special.
I know all the chambered vs not chambered arguments, don't bother commenting
Also bought a Taurus TH9c in 9mm.
Good video
Great vid. I still want both of them
I think you should probably carry the gun you are most comfortable with, money shouldn't matter. I carry a p07 or my j frame. Love them both!
Yes, the PX4CC is great. The stealth levers take some learning to master. The larger levers are better
I don’t believe you could go wrong with either option
I personally like the px4 the most!
Awsome I just order my cz p07 , thnaks
Thanks for this video, brother. It got me interested in the PX4 Compact. One finally showed up at my LGS for 389.00 and I went to check it out. Very nice gun for sure. Trigger is really good stock. However, the trigger reach for me was a little too long. I will stick with my P07 that has served me very well. I would for sure suggest people to take a look at both though!
I have the P07 gen 2. I love it. Looking to pick up a Px4 storm.
For a self defense pistol I myself would not. For a target gun I might.
I enjoy your channel and appreciate the analysis and opinion devoid of ego; Stay safe out there.
Reduced DA from 13 lbs to a smooth non stacking 8.5 lbs, SA from 4.5 to a candy cane break @ 3.5 lbs
That much work on the Beretta would have been nicer not Improved...
Could you do a review in the FNH FX-9?
Nice comparison review, thank you. I like your style.
I have the P-07. My neighbor has a full-size PX4. Both are great shooters.
How would you compare the Sig SP2022 to these two? Mainly the trigger pull and ergos. I agree with your opinion on the dumb mag base of the Sig but just was curious on your thoughts about the other points.
It would definitely hang with them. I'd say the trigger is better than the P-07. It's reliable as they are, it's accurate, and the price is right.
The SP2022 is as good a Sig as any 226 or 229. Mine (9mm) has not given me the slightest hint of trouble in my 2 years of ownership. And it is a joy to shoot!
Do the comparison of the stock PX4 Storm Compact.
I own both...no problems with either.
Whether that costs $400 or $1,200 - what is your life worth?
my two favorite pistols by far
I stippled and customized my Jimenez 9. Next on the list are night sights
Baller
I've always wanted a PX4. The midsize one looks perfect. The compact looks goofy as heck.
And I have a P07: nearly perfect until I put MCarbo spring kit in it. Now it's 99%.
MCarbo kit is a game changer.
Goof-fey?
only thing I don't agree is the method on how he tested the trigger pull
