    Thank you for keeping your movements slow and your tension even without repeatedly wrapping the yarn around your finger. This is a great tutorial.

    Hello there! What if I forget which stitch I did, how do I get back on track? Is it true that some rows you knit the knit, purl the purl and then others you’re supposed to purl the knits and knit the purls? I’m so confused!!! Please help!

    after you do the fourth row do you do row one since you said repeat the steps or do you just skip to the 2nd row since the fourth row and the first row are the same

      I think after the first four rows it becomes two rows of k1 1p then two rows of P1 k1

    Is it essential to have an odd number of stitches when you cast on? I’ve seen some videos say the number should be odd for this kind of stitch and then some advice an even number?

    • @TheBlueMouseKnits
      @TheBlueMouseKnits  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s not essential. Having an odd number of stitches makes the stitch pattern perfectly mirrored meaning your side edges are the same (k1 at the start of the row and a k1 at the end of the row). If you use an even amount of stitches the stitch can be knit but the edges won’t be mirrored (a k1 at the start and a p1 at the end). It’s a preference thing usually.
      Hope that helps!

    Every time I try to do it, it ends up in tangles and knots. I don't know what I'm doing wrong :( can someone explain to me what I'm doing wrong?

      The yarn thing front to back helped me immensely.

    What size needles or wool or can you use any. Thanks

    • @TheBlueMouseKnits
      @TheBlueMouseKnits  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use any yarn and any size needles to make this stitch. If you don't know where to start, I would suggest picking a yarn and looking at what size needle is suggests on the label. It's always a great jumping off point. Good luck!

      I have several other videos on my channel for different cast on methods, here's a beginner one: th-cam.com/video/scqfO0Kji7A/w-d-xo.html

    It would be good to have it written. Row 1 . Rows2 . etc. A lot easier to follow Ryan have it coming across the screen as your talking. As it wou.f make it a good referral with t he video.

      Thanks for the suggestion, I have it written in the description, but my videos going forward will almost always have it written on the screen

      @@TheBlueMouseKnits I'm thinking of investing in a new set and I was leaning towards the aluminum tips. I was gifted a set that have plastic needles and I'm wondering if I would like the metal ones better

    • @TheBlueMouseKnits
      @TheBlueMouseKnits  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@rushiaj1222 They sell these individually and as sets so you could get 1 pair to try out, or maybe try them out at your local yarn store to see if you like them before investing. Everyone has their own preference plastic, bamboo or metal so it's hard to say. But, they also sell them on amazon if you want to try them out first, I can highly recommend them :)
