    Good stuff man. I recently bought a 1LE, and just started going to the track. Your videos have been super helpful for me to learn the local tracks and look for areas to improve on.

      Sweet, I'm still learning myself. Car is a beast and can handle some punishment.

    Really nice driving up to the point of the missed shift on the last lap. Thank goodness you didn't spin into the inside wall there near pit in.

      Yeah, in the middle of the "spin" I had already accepted I was going to crash but then I was able to get it back, pretty lucky all things considered. Engine handled it like a champ.

    Good Stuff! What tire pressures do you like to see with the R7s?

    • @SpyderRacing
      @SpyderRacing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I start around 23-24 psi. During the summer I think the fastest lap on R7's is probably the 3rd lap. During the winter it's the 4th lap. I am usually up to about 29 or 30 psi when I start my hotlap. Car is obviously much faster in the winter, I think the R7's should be able to do 2 minutes flat here in cold temps.
      Hoping to come back with A7's and try those in cold temps. But as a general rule I always try to get my pressures as low as possible without destroying the sidewalls of my tires. If I'm just lapping for fun I would probably run closer to 33 or 34 hot.

    Great job !!!
    I'm looking into time trial's myself... I done the same gear shift mishap?? I was in middle of 3 and 4 at Daytona and went into 3rd instead of 5th "no lift shift too"...all good and tho,, Lucky.....

      Thank you! Yeah, I got proper seat/harness and 4 point roll cage installed now. I was moving around too much in the stock seat with stock belts. This new setup seems much easier to shift properly without having to worry about bouncing all over the place. Much safer as well.

      Same here..i'm looking at seats myself.. I like the Sparco circuit seat ,,,it's around 1k... Have you removed all of your interior to get it that light???

      @@hyper1le486 This video the car was stock weight but I was running a full fuel tank and had 35lbs ballast to make over 3901 lbs. If I run no ballast and low fuel tank It's closer to 3800lbs or lesswith me in it (I am 205 lbs for reference).
      When I added the seat and cage it actually added a bit of weight to the car. I took out the drivers seat and replaced with with a Corbeau seat, in addition I removed the back seat and installed an RSR Roll cage. Adding everything up I took out about 85 lbs and added 100 lbs back in. If you do both the drivers and passengers seats you will have a net negative amount of weight. I am eventually going to replace the passenger seat as well, that will lower the overall weight, but not by much.
      If you actually want to reduce weight you really have to strip everything out and remove airbags etc. Our cars are actually not insanely heavy, easiest ways to reduce weight are lighter wheels/ driver and passenger seats/remove rear seats/anti gravity battery.

    Flat up the esses! Like a boss haha. 93 min speed thru 10 was all I could get too. Nice to see that’s the limit of the car and the Hoosier

    • @SpyderRacing
      @SpyderRacing  ปีที่แล้ว

      There is certainly more out there. Top speeds were low due to having to run full fuel tank. Need to slap some A7s also instead of R7's. Not sure where to go from here. I either detune the car and lower the weight and add aero, or I sell the car and go race spec E30

      @@SpyderRacing yeah I barely kissed 150 when I did the 2:01.98 and was on 10ish heat cycle R7. It would be cool to aero it up and make it a TT2 car

    • @SpyderRacing
      @SpyderRacing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@masonracin It can still stay in TT3 with aero. Just have to detune a little bit like everyone else to maintain max HP throughout most of the RPM range.

      @@SpyderRacing yeah. I meant more going all out like Frank Pacheco did in California. Obviously if money was no object haha

      @@masonracin Ha, I'm not trying to turn this into a money pit, still needs to be just a fun hobby. But maybe one day I'll have more money to throw at it.
