Here is man who began to become at top of his class in 2001 (he began his career in 1997) and here we are 22 years later and he still among the best. Of course, he is no longer the dominating figure in distance running (way past his prime-the bus has left a long time ago-actually since 2009) but he still is kicking and few athletes (actually none) at 40 can run the way he does. I hope that the Ethiopian Federation will pick him to run at the 24 Olympics (marathon) That will be a monumental accomplishment of Athletic longevity, resiliency and determination. Bekele is for sure the greatest and most complete distance runner in history and athletics.
