As a youth when the original film came out I can't go past that version. This is excellent though and you may be right, it's more polished but hey the original was from 72 or 75.
As a transplanted American, I had no idea that Kate Ceberano and John Farnham had performed in that musical. It happened a number of years before I relocated to Oz... I love Kate Ceberano's voice that lady has a God given talent for sure. Her voice is amazing.. going to do some digging and see if there if the whole musical with them in it was video taped.. would love to watch it.
I saw her a few years back doing all fleetwood mac songs, my god I was blown away by her voice. She had a big hit about 30 odd years ago with a song called bedroom eyes. Great song. Check it out if haven’t seen it.
Try not to get worried Try not to turn on to problems that upset you Oh, don't you know everything's alright? Yes, everything's fine And we want you to sleep well tonight Let the world turn without you tonight If we try, we'll get by So forget all about us tonight Everything's all right, yes Everything's all right, yes Sleep and I shall soothe you Calm you and anoint you Myrrh for your hot forehead Oh, then you'll feel everything's all right, yes, everything's fine And it's cool and the ointment's sweet For the fire in your head and feet Close your eyes, close your eyes and relax Think of nothing tonight Everything's all right, yes Everything's all right, yes Woman, your fine ointment, brand new and expensive Could have been saved for the poor Why has it been wasted? Probably. The album itself was the highest selling Album in 1992 in Aus. Another 5/4 number was Take 5 by Dave Brubeck which reach N0.7 in Australia, and sold 2 million copies worldwide, excluding cover versions.
IMO Kate is singing this in the most seductive manner I have ever heard it. I'm not saying that's right or wrong. It's just an observation. A blonde Jesus doesn't seem right to me.
@Joe-ey7cu there is evidence for your God or Satan. To have doubt would be to first beleive and then to doubt that belief. I never believed. I wasn't raised with religion, I have never had a belief in it, which I could then doubt. I simply evaluate religious claims based on the evidence. The problem is that there is no evidence for those claims.
@@peteroliver7975 why is the earth just the right distance from the sun to sustain life ? How is it that animals have their own natural defense mechanisms ? @@Joe-ey7cuthe earth could sustain life along a fairly big shift in distance from the sun. Kate is absolutely stunning here
Absolute stunner. She is a class act. Great version.
The Australian cast for this musical was absolutely amazing.
Their Australian Accents when singing is Beautiful.
I was one of that cast ❤
@@WillHost That’s so cool. How did you find the experience?
Have you been in many musicals?
@@James-lw3gi Yes. It's been my career.
I would find it hard to believe there is a better version of this song than this one, Kate Jon and John were perfect in this.

As an Aussie we love Kate and Jon especially Jon his powerful voice, no need to say anything more about Farnham.

Wow! SO many years later and this version still gives me chills 😍😍😍
There are not many things I regret in life but not going along to see this is definitely one of the biggest.
My daughter just discovered this 2023 and absolutely loves this Aussie version I showed her
Kate is so beautiful 😍 !
There wasn't a better cast than these 3

But no mention of the other guy. Isn't that the singer from noiseworks?
Yup, U R correct, it is Jon Stevens from Noiseworks 😊
Yes. John Stevens
The only version that could rival the original ♥️♥️♥️

Doesn’t compare to the 1973 version by Yvonne Elliman
As a young fella when I first watched this video I thought to myself "I'd marry Kate Mate"💓🤣
Mate, we all loved Kate!!! God did I have a crush 😍 haha
: who can better john farnham or kate cerebrano ?" ( answer: no one can ! )
I was a child, but I still remember that John was amazing... as was the entire cast. FEET AND HAIR!!!!!!!!!!
My Māori Whānau love this 1990s musical.
She beautiful
A great song since I heard it on delta Christmas carols other night..I keeps popping into my head

Wonderful!
All those candles around Kate's hair is giving me Michael Jackson Pepsi commercial anxiety 😂
Saw a new version of this on TH-cam. Comments were all very positive. Terrible compared to this amazing version. Can’t be beaten
Perfect casting.
Go Australia! I worked at Jon Steven’s concert. and I met John Farnham.
Saw this back then. Seeing now....WOW!!!
I swear Judith Lucy is in the backup singer group
Lovely 🥰
Sorry,....gimme Carl, Yvonne and Ted.
Love ❤️ this song 🎶
Phenomenal.
I forgot how attractive Kate was😊
The best❤❤❤
Brilliant 🇦🇺🖤
...and no Autotune to be found.
Gotta remember that there’s two adopted Aussies here from NZ ♥️
Don’t forget the Pom.
