As for charging i mean you are charging it every like 3 months or something just remember once in a while to plug it in for 10 minutes and you are fine
I have the MX3 S at home and the Magic Mouse at work. I like the Magic Mouse better because you get used to it after a while. Your hand gets tired at first because you're used to filling your hand with the mouse and your position is wrong. After a while, if you give it a chance, you will find the right hand positioning to not get tired and the functionality is incomparable. And I never had to charge it while I was working because I charge it every 2 weeks or so for one night and pull it out when I come back the next day. Give it a second chance.
Totally agree. Once you find the correct position to hold the mouse its not uncomfortable. If anything it make traditional mice or the MX feel unnecessarily bulky. Its what you're used to and given 98% of mice are the pretty much the same shape and size it feels "wrong" to start with.
Hi Oliur, here’s my experience with Mac and mices. Back in the time I want to get a mouse for my MacBook and I watched your video on MX3 long time ago and you recommended the Magic Mouse over the competition. I didn’t like the idea because it really looks like very difficult to hold for a long time, I tried a few alternative but those scrollwheels never felt right when I tried to scroll any document or website. Then I just got myself a Magic Mouse and watch some videos to learn how to hold Magic Mouse comfortably. And two or more years later and I never looked back.
I used the magic mouse for the past 10 years, 1 and 2, but last year I had to change from MacBook to a Window computer and I struggled to find a mouse, but I recently started using the 'Logitech M720 Triathlon'. And I gotta say, it gets pretty close to the level of productivity of a Magic Mouse, and it seats perfectly on your hand (differently from the Magic Mouse, which is the only step back I can think of)
I thought of getting Magic Mouse 2, and then I saw Logitech mx3 and I’m all confused. I just need a regular mouse like on the Dell laptop and now I’m clueless and indecisive, please help me choose one. MM2 is pretty and MX3 is not hahaha (coming from a girl’s perspective), I need a good & reliable mouse since I don’t like the mouse on the laptop.
I've tested quite a few mice and the Magic Mouse is BY FAR the best for a Mac. Why? It has a trackpad and a mouse - in one. That gives it a huge advantage. It ain't ergonomically as good as the competition but the competition can't get close to its features. Charging? LOL a few-minutes-charge gets you days of juice, a 100% battery gets you months without the need to charge. People complaining about the charging are probably pretty spoiled in life. I'm using the magic mouse since 2015 and wouldn't change it ever.
I would agree it's the best for Mac because it's the most compatible, but as far as comfort and speed of workflow goes the MX masters 3s is a much better option for the same price. I own both and I hate using the Magic Mouse.
I was hoping to find a solution for how to make the g305 work on mac, but that doesn't seem to bother any one but me here. I would love to not be forced to buy another mouse for my mac setup since I am very satisfied with the g305. For anyone who is wondering: There seems to be an issue with the USB GHz dongle and the thunderbold ports on mac. For some reason the mouse jumps around on the screen rendering it unusable for basically anything. If you frequently switch between OSs then you should not pick the G305. EDIT: Holy smokes, It's been maybe a couple of years since I tried it last, but after writing that comment, I decided to try it again, and by some miracle it seems that they've fixed the issue with the M1 Chip! 🔥
cant replace the magic mouse cus you literally cant replicate ALL of its gestures with any mouse, you can replicate some, but not all. there isnt an actual command in macOS for some of the gestures, it's all firmware. particularly the doubletap smooth magnyfy. (this is not the same as zoom, that also changes the formatting and layout of the website and does not magnify actual current viewport) you also cannot half-way peek into spaces, nor the inertia-based smooth scroll--- no the logitech free-wheel moves smooth but does not send inertia based input to the OS, it still scrolls in increments based on text lines and not pixels, it cannot for instance scroll with the precission of 1 pixel the way magic and track can. other mice can only replicate the keyboard shortcut version but it is not touch enabled like on magicmouse and magic trackpad, someone just needs to get off their ass, swallow their pride and admit apple was smart to make a touchpad on top of a mouse and replicate this touch enabled surface on a proper mouse, but everyone is so busy calling magic shit that this will never happen.
Finally someone said it, and anyone who says you can duplicate those features genuinely don't know the difference or haven't used the magic mouse as a primary device and understood how those features work, fortunately you can still use the magic trackpad, but if you're a mouse user you're SOL if you've made those features part of your work habits and want a different mouse.
One big thing you’re overlooking is you use a mouse for precision, needs to be comfortable and ergonomic as it can negatively affects health wise. Gestures were a compromise on trackpad because it doesn’t have the physical ability of a mouse. There is reason why the mouse is largely still popular after 50 years of its invention. The Magic Mouse just isn’t design for the hand. Or for practical use, with the charging port being a clear example of that. The Magic Mouse only gets praise from people who specifically like it, and shame from everyone else for a reason. It’s just not a good mouse, it’s only has favourably because of software, not hardware.

Razer Orochi V2 is another fantastic option. Great shape, good weight, great battery, minimal design, etc. I’m a gamer and love light mice (GPX Superlight I’ve mained for so long now) and I tried the MX Master 3 and it was way too heavy for regular office use imo
Agree with most of the clip owner suggestions. I am using MX Master 2s (not really much different with MX3 and 3S but so much cheaper) + Magic Trackpad both currently and so satisfy with it. The MX Master 2S still deliver all my needs comfortably with its multi convenient gestures and so thankful for the Logitech.
Perfect timing! Just got a new Macbook pro for myself and was thinking which mouse to get with it! Been using the G305 for a year now on my gaming setup as well, will most likely go for the mx master 3S for my mac.
I used the magic mouse for a day, and I immediately wanted to chuck it out the window. It was the scrolling function that killed it for me, it was much too sensitive. In love with that trackpad doh!
I have a 13 years old magic mouse, using rechargeable AA batteries and it's still working perfectly. For Mac users, I think the gestures features are unmatched.
to be honest the battery version is better than the new one. I love their gesture, it makes it feel like its a trackpad and a mouse at the same time but their design is so flawed. Yes I rarely charge my apple mouse but that's not an excuse to put the charging port on the bottom.
I've been a user of Logitech Lift for over a year and I love it. With gestures customisation in logi app I almost managed to fit the trackpad functionality. It also has horizontal scroll function (hold side button + normal scroll). I'm also a fan of the adaptability of the scroll wheel. It really helps with navigation in code. And it is comfortable, however it needs getting used to it.
6:11 - see idk if that’s true. Because I have that one and I can’t do anything as far as making use of the extra buttons. It’s like either I’m blind or it doesn’t work for Apple products
For productivity I use the MX Masters…it’s a more precise wheel. For casual browsing I use the Magic Mouse or trackpad. I have all of these in white and black.
i actually had the mx master 3s and i loved it until i tried it on the maccbook. its connectivity was awful and the sensor wasnt as responsive as on windows i ended up buying the magic mouse and i actually like the trackpad feature on it. it does feels weird on the hand though
The best in my opinion is Logitech M720. I've tried MX Master 3s and the cons are: it's too heavy, the gesture button is hard to press, needed to be charged. On M720 You can map the horizontal scroll of MX Master to left/right tilt.
I've been using the magic trackpad for a long time. But recently, wrist pain started. I write hard now. My computer is MAC. What could be that won't cause wrist pain? I am thinking. I could not decide
I’ve been using a trackpad for everything for over 5 years now. The horizontal scroll experience alone is underrated to put it mildly. Once you understand how ridiculous horizontal scrolling is with a traditional mouse, you’ll feel like a fool. Trackpad FTW!
Super weird stuff happening with my Logitech MX master 3. When using AirPods and being on a conference call the laptop slows down tremendously, this issue comes from the mouse after about 2 months of Investigation. Definetly something to keep in mind if you plan on using your laptop to make conference calls
I'm very old school... I can remember when Apple's idea of a mouse was a square boxy thing with a cord and single button... Frankly there is no alternative today except for either Apple's Track Pad (you mentioned) or Kensington's "Expert Mouse" [wired or wireless] which isn't a mouse (I hate chasing a stupid device all over my desktop... A waste of desktop space basic ergonomics...IMHO) rather a very logical trackball w 4 programable buttons & scroll wheel. Once you get used to it you have far greater precision and ease of use.
I’ve got 3 of the mice you’ve got listed. Apple Magic Mouse I use for iPad mini 6, Logitech Master 2S for home use, and the Apple Magic Trackpad I rarely use. I also use a Logitech Anywhere MX mouse when at work. Love the Logitech programmable buttons, ergo, and battery life.
I have been using this mouse for over two years now. And they cannot fix the bug with m1 processors. My mouse is bluetooth connected and sometimes it is just impossible to use it because of the delay in mouse movement. Super bad experience. They have released a dozen versions of updates, but the problem is still not solved.
Hmm are you sure it's not an interference bug? I also had the same issue early on but now it's resolved. But yeah very annoying. Hope you sort it mate!
I do a lot of productivity engineering/ CAD/ Office stuff. The G604 is a good alternative 6 programable buttons on side. 2 next to the left lick, side scrolls also programable. middle button programable and it has Hyper scroll with ball bearing. dedicated DPI button. So in addition to the left and right clicks and scroll. I have 11 programmed macros. Replaced my keyboard macro buttons.
I have the g304/g305 mouse. I bought it because it doesn't have any rubber that can degrade overtime (this is true even for the premium models). I heard that there is the double clicking issue on this mouse but I have not yet experienced it. If that ever happens, the replacement switches are cheap. This is my mouse for everything!
I don’t understand this charging issue around the magic mouse, when low on battery(around 20%) i just put on charge after I finish my work and i good to go for several months.
Loved the Magic Mouse for its gestures but after messing up my hand/wrist a few years back I found it got really uncomfortable and had to stop using it Started using the Magic Trackpad 6 months ago but found it didn’t fit my workflow on a multi monitor setup Using the MX master 3(personal) and 3S(work) now and love them. The shape is more comfortable for me to hold, side scrolling and programmable gestures are a dream The Magic Mouse would be best at slipping into a bag where the masters are too big but I have an mx anywhere for those times
Bruh, I bought the trackpad and a real mouse and it is great. The Trackpad is great but after some time you end up with your fingers so wasted that you required therapy for them. I have sacrifice the gestures for a mouse and there is not big difference by using the F3 to show up the floating windows with a official Apple Keyboard.
I just got a MM2 a few weeks ago used for $30 and it's great. Ive tried/had many for factors even including gaming mice, but the usefulness for productivity is SOLID. Why wouldn't you want something that does the same as the trackpad (on the MacBook). The charging is iffy usability wise but 100% charge lasts me MONTHS. In fact, 3 days after charge and it's still 100%.
My brother bought the MX-Master 3 and that is the best mouse for your hand. I spent hours upon hours in front of a computer, the MX-Master 3 pretty much made sure that my right hand doesn't hurt.
Can you click/tap on the Magic Mouse in like the scroll area as if it was a button? Normal scrolls has the option to click on them to work as a button, specially for design apps to rotate 3D drawings.
I love the magic mouse but i need a scroll wheel for a certain program. :( can you recommend a mouse with the closest feel to the magic mouse but with a scroll wheel?
I'm all team Magic Trackpad 🖐 Got it back when Apple was still selling the Space Grey versions from the iMac Pro. It's looking really good sitting on top of the ULX desk mat
I love my Magic Mouse but for Davinci Resolve and some other programs you really need a 3 button clickable button or you cannot do certain things like clicking and moving a clip around in the viewer window. Otherwise you have to use key strokes plus the scroll on a Magic Mouse.. Or does anybody know if you can program maybe the Magic Mouse to be able to do something like that in Davinci Resolve? Thank you
Hey Oliur, never seen your videos before but was interested to see if there are any Magic Mouse alternatives besides the track pad. And am guinelly agree with you, I don't think there is a better mouse out there. Oww side node, am using the AA battery mouse instead of the cable charged ones. The only thing am not using from Apple are the keyboards, I don't like em for obvious reasons. Instead am using a Keychron K flat keyboards. These are lovely keyboards though.
Recently I've bought the Master Series 3 for Mac and the MX Keys (in clear grey both) and at the first time I thought there were too expensive, but as you said, with all the functions and customize capability, the price is reasonable. The combination of both devices is take the productivity to another level. Best regards.
I loved the video. I have the Logitech Mx Vertical because I have bigger hands. I was wondering what keyboard did you have on the desk? I’m in the market for a mechanical keyboard
How u use g305 for macbook pro? I tried mx master 2s its bad mouse way too heavy way too ugly and way too overrated. Small and neat mice is my cup of taste. Horizontal scroll thing is cool but i wish it were on smaller more classic looking mouse. If you hate big mouse skip mx master (but i have to say 3s version is even uglier but is much nicer to hold at least)
I haven't had any issue charging the mm because the battery last so long I just plug it in every couple of weeks. While I don't love the feel I do love the gestures. I have an MX master 3 that is great but wish I could use the gestures... I LOVE my Magic Trackpad though and I have found that using it in combination with the MM keeps me from getting fatigue with the small size of the MM. As both can be connected I have the best of both worlds at all time. On my PC I use a Logitech Superlight 2 and can use it for hours at a time while gaming but prefer the MM & MT combination with my Mac. On the go I just use the trackpad on my MBP or Logitech MX anywhere. VERY nice and detailed review, should help anyone trying to make a decision!
I still have the same Magic Mouse that came with my 2011 iMac. I have huge hands but that little glassy thing hasn't given me too much trouble and I love the trackpad features. I went through many laptops and I'm using the newest MB Pro M3. Still the same (battery operated) MM. I came to this video to look for a new one, but I guess I'm keeping my 13yo buddy.
Dude Thank you what a great video. Do you use Logic Pro at all? I have some specific questions about how some of those mice would work with Logic. Can you zoom in on the Magic Mouse like you do on the trackpad? Again thank you for the review this is great.
I use the Magic Mouse since my very first MacBook, and I get why the charging plug thing now, I just won't ever had to charge it! is the confident they had in the battery life that a make them designed that way! and I really thing the people who hate it, is people that really don't give it a try for a long period of time. The ergonomic side is that is not only a mouse is it! it does had a track pad included, so, they need no make flat enough to be able to used, a personaly love it, and won't changed for the most ergonomic form type mouse that not give the actual functionality that now I been used to.
I've got logitech g305 and it has a lot of problems. First of all it has terrible scrolling wheel, after 6 months of using it startet to change direction a little during the scrolling and it rerceives terrible. Another big problem I've noticed is that on my m1 mac book I have randon curson lagging and sudden curson jumping If I insert dongle not to usb port directly with very simple usb type-c->usb adapter, but throught hdmi+usb adapter, or any other adapter, but works perfectly through same adapters in windows machine. Same problem if I use my dell s2722DC wich is inserting to type-c and has own usb controller. Only one solution helps, when I use second usb slot with simple usb type-c->usb adapter, but ofcourse I still have problem with scroll. I think about buying mx master, but I see a lot of complains about lagging with m1 processsors so I'm wondering what the hell in 2024 we still have a problem to buy mouse for mac book.
I have the black magic mouse. This might just be me, but its edges are so sharp it's making little cuts and slices to my thumb every time I use it. I'm not bleeding or anything, but the feeling is highly uncomfortable. The sad thing about this is it's been happening for years (Iook it up) and it seems Apple does not want to make any adjustments to that aspect of the design. Really disappointing for a device that you pay top dollar for. I've been forced to take a razor blade to the mouse to sort of round it off and soften its edges. Very bad user experience.
For gaming, it better to recommend Razer orochi V2 instead of Logitech G305. Its lighter, comes with lithium battery, Bluetooth + 2.4Ghz connectivity, and a fair price. I got one for $42 on sale.
Does anyone have issues with the magic mouse not tracking well? I’ve bought one today and out of the box I had these issues and I tried many things that didn’t work

Yeah - I have zero issues with the Magic Mouse (apart from charging!) Tempted to buy an MX3 to see what all the fuss is about though.
did a lot of research and went for the MX 3S - and i am loving it !
Did you find out why?
no, I contacted the support from logitech, nothing they can do... typical logitech@@jelledejong4207
Hey what’s the brand and model of your keyboard? Thanks
I have an amazon basics full size ergonomic mouse with fast scrolling and it works really great. been using it for about 3 years now
Hey oliur who makes the art print you have behind you in the studio?
I’ve got 3 of the mice you’ve got listed. Apple Magic Mouse I use for iPad mini 6, Logitech Master 2S for home use, and the Apple Magic Trackpad I rarely use. I also use a Logitech Anywhere MX mouse when at work. Love the Logitech programmable buttons, ergo, and battery life.
You must have the hands of a gorilla if you think the MX is ergonomic.
I bought the MX Master 3s but its completely lagging on MAC does someone has a solution?
I have been using this mouse for over two years now. And they cannot fix the bug with m1 processors. My mouse is bluetooth connected and sometimes it is just impossible to use it because of the delay in mouse movement. Super bad experience. They have released a dozen versions of updates, but the problem is still not solved.
Hmm are you sure it's not an interference bug? I also had the same issue early on but now it's resolved. But yeah very annoying. Hope you sort it mate!
Please , @ 4:21 . what keyboard is that the multicolor ? thank you sir , and hello from Miami, FL
What do you think of the Apple Magic Mouse for video editing? Is it a good choice? And is that what you personally use for editing your videos?
I have the g304/g305 mouse. I bought it because it doesn't have any rubber that can degrade overtime (this is true even for the premium models). I heard that there is the double clicking issue on this mouse but I have not yet experienced it. If that ever happens, the replacement switches are cheap. This is my mouse for everything!
just wait for 6 months
I don’t understand this charging issue around the magic mouse, when low on battery(around 20%) i just put on charge after I finish my work and i good to go for several months.
Loved the Magic Mouse for its gestures but after messing up my hand/wrist a few years back I found it got really uncomfortable and had to stop using it
Started using the Magic Trackpad 6 months ago but found it didn’t fit my workflow on a multi monitor setup
Using the MX master 3(personal) and 3S(work) now and love them. The shape is more comfortable for me to hold, side scrolling and programmable gestures are a dream
The Magic Mouse would be best at slipping into a bag where the masters are too big but I have an mx anywhere for those times
In the iPad Pro so smart,we can do buy one magic keyboard or magic mouse into the Mac?
Great video and I was just looking at the Magic Trackpad myself - is the feedback for clicks as good as on the Macbook itself?
I’d say it’s 90% there
not gonna lie I waited to buy mice tomorrow & with my budget I choose Logitech 502 wired is it good
Can you click/tap on the Magic Mouse in like the scroll area as if it was a button? Normal scrolls has the option to click on them to work as a button, specially for design apps to rotate 3D drawings.
I'm ready for the handmodel meme's when ya'll are.
Hi! I just got a new Mac studio and I have a Logitech MX master. Any idea of how I can to the equivalent of the 3 fingers slide on the MX master?
I love the magic mouse but i need a scroll wheel for a certain program. :( can you recommend a mouse with the closest feel to the magic mouse but with a scroll wheel?
I'm all team Magic Trackpad 🖐
Got it back when Apple was still selling the Space Grey versions from the iMac Pro. It's looking really good sitting on top of the ULX desk mat
In my opinion the Logitech Lift is even better in white, and I say this as a person who has 90% of black accessories/gadgets
I have been using the logitech triathlon for over a year and the battery is still full. I think it is underrated has very useful features
I’m in the market for a mechanical keyboard
been using the logi g305 for a couple years almost, love it and i have pretty big hands and its still comfortable
Are the other mice like the apple mouse when scrolling? So smooth with the apple, but ive heard others will stutter?
How u use g305 for macbook pro?
I tried mx master 2s its bad mouse way too heavy way too ugly and way too overrated. Small and neat mice is my cup of taste. Horizontal scroll thing is cool but i wish it were on smaller more classic looking mouse. If you hate big mouse skip mx master (but i have to say 3s version is even uglier but is much nicer to hold at least)
I have got the mx master 3 mouse and it truly is the king of productivity mice. I can work for very long without my hands getting tired
Razer Basilisk X HyperSpeed is the real value king. Uses a single AA battery and lasts forever!
Would have loved to hear your opinion on the ASUS ProArt Mouse MD300!
I lile the magic mouse for the gestures, but the ergonomic are awful for using it for a whole workday every day
4:26 what keyboard do you use?, that gray keyboard
That Better Touch app was totally new to me! Thanks!
I used to love the g305 with my MacBook but on the go bug it’s been superseded by the Razer orochi v2
I think about buying mx master, but I see a lot of complains about lagging with m1 processsors so I'm wondering what the hell in 2024 we still have a problem to buy mouse for mac book.
whats the keyboard at 4:16?
I think no companies have made a trackpad because Apple doesn't let third party devices use their gestures
I love your subtitles 🥹
This is my guy, he has the unpopular opinion that I might actually agree with. My guy u now have one more loyal subscriber
can someone tell me what keyboard its on the table? look fantastic!
found it, its at 550 dollars here in Argentina. This kind of prices shouldnt exist
which keyboard do you use for your macbook.
If only the mx master had a higher Bluetooth polling rate to accommodate the promotion display. It's 90hz which is noticeable (at least to me)
Beautiful Quality of the video!!
Does magic trackpad actually click or does it have haptics?
I’m surprised you didn’t list every mouse in existence
Is it possible to have all gestures also on MX3?
Hi
Is it work with windows I have dell xps all features r Working pls let me know
I would have to agree Magic Mouse is awesome and would getting trackpad in black as well
Can you show how the scrolling works on all of them?
Does anyone have issues with the magic mouse not tracking well? I’ve bought one today and out of the box I had these issues and I tried many things that didn’t work
I found the magic mouse (lighting) for $10 in a thrift shop and surprisingly it works great.
