When I turned off the color filter is made all of the difference in the world. The colors are all nice and vibrant now!

Color correction helped a lot. I did the other settings too. I was able to go up to 50 on Mk11 instead of 30 with on the Gama. I was very close to the screen until the dragon logo was faint and disappeared. I could also select Profesional. Now my lgc1 pops with ps5. Thanks a ton.
There is definitely an issue with recording a webm file and sharing it to TH-cam. It washes out the video on every PS5 game, but not on PS4 games being played on the PS5. My settings are: Webm, 1080p, 60fps, with Full RGB set to Automatic, and HDR: NO, as my display is a PlayStation 3D Display (1080p, 60fps, full RGB supported, and no HDR). The video that made me very aware of this problem was a Pac-Man video I made from Pac-Man Museum. It looks grey instead of black. I kept trying to change several things, and then realized that when I switch it from Webm to MP4, it looked perfect. So the problem seems to be how TH-cam is processing these particular Webm videos.
You need a 10 bit panel. HDR is a 10 bit panel accompanied by an extra bright backlight. Without those two parts you don't have HDR. Tv manufacturers can legally put HDR on the box if the tv accepts a 10 bit signal even though it has an 8 bit panel and a normal backlight. If you have a 10 bit panel you don't have this problem. If you do have this problem you for sure have an 8 bit panel that could never display HDR no matter what it says on the box. It's like calling a 1080p tv 4k because it can accept a 4k signal and downscale it. A few years ago when I Iooked into this 99% of tvs were 8 bit panels advertising themselves as HDR tvs. Nowadays just look for HDR10 or HDR10+. HDR10 just means actual HDR and not a lie on the box. Even then they sometimes don't have the bright backlight needed to display HDR content correctly. Believe me, real HDR doesn't look washed out. It's the opposite. If you have an 8 bit panel just leave HDR off. It can't possibly display it.
For ps5 and New Sony a Patch came out that f..up settings. Color look boring now and you cant adjust hdr(second sun keeps resetting). And must be one of these calibrating Marketing shill. Calibrated=worse 99% of time
What about 8bits -frc ?. My Samsung Q70B QLED it's 8bit +FRC (basically a 10 bit panel) and the HDR in my games looks amazing since I always calibrate my seriesX HDR with HGIG ON and after that I turn HDR10 and HGiG off and everything looks absolutely gorgeous. Don't know about only native 8 bits though. Either way 90% of the TV's, even nowadays use 8bits panels with Frame rate control (FRC) which it's perfectly fine for HDR content so I don't think you need specifically a 10 bit panel since there are like 4 TV's having 10bit native panels, majority use FRC.

Hdr turned off gives you deeper blacks and punchier colours. Seems the ps5 hdr works properly with high end tv. On a normal 4k hdr set its all washed out

I never changed a setting on my tv or my ps5. I live stream from my ps5 to my TH-cam channel and since my last stream i've noticed that all the thumbnails it gives you all have a dark tint over them even though in the game there fine. I have a Samsung 4k tv nothing too special but it gets the job done. Any reason why this is happening? I've never had this problem before and now my livestreams have dark thumbnails which are off putting. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I turned on my PS5 one day and the colors are randomly all washed out. I already had all these settings on. No amount of fiddling fixes it. I even bought a new HDMI cable and it did nothing. I guess my PS5 is permanently washed out forever. There seems to be no fix!!!!
It’s weird I have an LG C1 OLED With the newest firmware update I just bought a brand new PlayStation five with the latest firmware update when I go to the option here to select only on one supported HDR versus always on and I toggle back-and-forth nothing changes the screen doesn’t go black and come back with the picture doesn’t do any of that it’s like broken meaning HDR is on all the time no matter what unless I toggle the off option then it’s off. I don’t know if it’s a bug or somethings wrong or my TV just doesn’t like cooperating with PlayStation I don’t know but I’ve seen a few TH-camrs selecting always on and then selecting one supported and you can see that the TV is changing to the correct setting but that’s not the case for me literally HDR is Always-On even for things I do not support HDR it’s a real piss off I don’t know how to fix this problem I don’t know if it’s my ps5 or tv I’ve tried different HDMI cords different ports on the TV even factory resetting the PlayStation five as well the TV same result it does not change any help feedback?
So if it says HDR not supported by your TV does that mean that it's going to be messed up forever the only game I played so far is NHL and it just seems like the ice is super bright it still playable I'm going to try to mess around with the TV settings I just got the TV used normally I play on a projector like a $800 projector nothing too crazy and the colors seem fine but for some reason unless I'm crazy the gameplay and just the overall look of the game looks completely different from the projector and on the TV now playing on the TV is almost like watching the game on real TV where is on the projector it seems more like a video game arcade style maybe it's just because of the players are so much bigger I don't know but I'm going to compare the two and see if I'm crazy or not unless you've experienced anything like this before you would like to share
Or I just had an idea that because this TV doesn't support HDR but the projector does the projector asked me to adjust the brightness until I can no longer see the symbol like in your video and so I did so I'm wondering if when I hook it up to the TV now those settings are saved and because the TV doesn't support HDR it's just automatically in those settings of the brightness that was set for the projector so maybe I should try it on the projector and turn it all down and then put it back on it'll carry over to the TV possibly makes a little bit of sense to me

I ended going into the TV's settings going through the different modes, and the movie preset is the only one that has normal color output, not the inverted super dark I was seeing.
Got a brand new 77 C1 and Apex looks... Like utter garbage. Looks like it's running at 720p, colours look washed out, no AA etc. Tried all settings, very strange.
@supersaiyanbro some TVs do not support VRR and HDR both being on at the same time when it comes to the PS5 that is. It all depends if your TV has HDMI 2.1 or not

Cant see a difference between RGB full and limited... yeah i closed the video after he said that. Whatever he says after i dont care but i would recommend not listening to a word of it. His whole setup is either fucked up beyond believe or his eyes are so bad he cant see the difference between 30 and 60 fps either.

I have a a80j. First looked great. After a Patch it destroyed the colors its now more calibrated and therefore looks really bad. Hdr off better now

You must have your HDMI black levels set wrong on your Display/TV.

Having this issue with genshin. Colors are washed out but the darks are too dark and whites all blend in. Its really odd.

Turned my HDR off and it made everything look a million times better
HDR makes my screen more dim. Whenever I turn it off, it actually looks normal.
8 bit panal. It's not really HDR. Just leave it off

Running at 60 instead of 120 will help games thats don’t support it.

For me, fix was sony decided to gimp their own panels on hdr if you are in game preset. If switch to custom, brightness was fixed😂 cmon sony

1) picture mode -> custom.
2) Adjust picture to your liking.
3) Disable motion and noise reduction (these cause most amount of lag)
Just turn off HDR.
