I just got my huntsman. I opened canned black berries. Kerr lid was no match for large screw driver! Love the SAK VIC tool!!!!!!! I touched up all sharp blades. I sharpened the left side of wire stripper like my leatherman.
Mahh it can take it easily, he didn't try to split a log or something. Also the small blade can get between the sap to.pry it,the cam opener is much thicker and will make a mess if you try to use it on that occasion.
Leave the bark on the front of the bow it helps with the spring and makes it stronger. Also when you make your pins to hold your table or any other project together use dead dry wood for the pins. As your pieces dry out they grab down tighter on the pin and your joint doesn’t get loose.
I gotta agree with you here. If only Chuck Noland (Tom Hanks) of Castaway had a Swiss knife in his pocket. He’d have saved himself a lot of trouble … might even have been able to have several hobbies too. He could have fashioned little wooden bowls and used them for cooking soup etc, for while there is liquid in the bowls these won’t burn.
Muy burnos tips, para la supervivencia con la navaja Swiss Army, es una excelente herramienta, tanto para el hogar, trabajo y en el campo..!! Muy interesante y muy práctico tutorial Jony Fire.!! Excelente video..!!
Hi Jony. Congratulations for the channel and thanks for the review. One question. ... Which SAK model is your favorite, to carry in any situation?. Thanks
At 17:00 I thought you were going to make lizard stew! Lol! That was a nice little bush pot, and a very neat way to make a long strip of metal for the bail. But I was cringing at using the scissors to cut the can up. Doesn't that tear them up?
Hi! I'm looking for a victorinox ranger for bushcraft but it's out of stock everywhere in here & I don't know if & when it'll be back in stock. Will the Huntsman cut it for survival/camping activities?
You can look for The Handyman, too. It has some more tools, as Ranger and Huntsman. Chisel, more screwdriwers and pliers, too. The Huntsman is "smaller" version, as Ranger. The Handyman is a little "biger" as Ranger.
I take the corkscrew over the Philips every time I can carry a fire start , glasses screw drive every money inside and it's good for opening and a few other things where the screwdriver is ok for one type of screw I take a bit kit instead
Imagine how fast we could speed up evolution if we gave chimps Swiss Army Knives and gave them a few generations to figure some stuff out? How long would it take a chimp to figure out making cordage from trash? And then from there God only knows what they could do. I like these knives peak human engineering. NEVER LET THE INFERIOR PRIMATES FIND OUT.
Hi i liked your video on pocket survival DIY SAW THINK YOU COULD IMPROVE IT IF USE A BOLT WITH SLOT IN IT, AND GRUB SCREWS WITH SPARES BLADES IN HANDLE. OR EVEN BETTER DRILL TAP BOLT THEN CUT ONE SIDE OFF USE DREMEL CUT SHAPE OF BLADE. OR LESS WORK WOULD BE PINS AND GRUB SCREWS STOP BLADE MOVING THINK LAST ONE WOULD BE BRILLIANT LAST YEARS ILL WATCH ALL YOUR OTHER VIDEOS NOW VERY INTERESTING 😊😊
Be carful doing what he did in the first clip. He already knows the pressure point because he probably had this snap back on him once to twice. Do this with care since putting so much pressure in the wrong direction WILL have the blade snap on you and hurt you. Ask how I know this by asking myself 17 years ago.
Since there's hardly any Swiss army at all (historically because of the mountains no need to defend the country) the Swiss Army Knife manufacturers should rename their product into Swiss Citizen Knife
Stop with the overly complicated methods of boiling water in a cup. By the time you spent cutting that tin can to make a stove just to boil water, or made the hollowed out piece of wood stove. I would have already had a cup of water boiled and finished with whatever I was boiling it for before you ever got your fire started. Place a flat rock in your coals of your campfire and lay some fresh tender all around it. Done! You'll have boiling water in about five minutes. I love my SAK but I do get bored watching people trying to make it do tasks that are so easily done in other ways. With all the potential of the SAK to be the one single survival tool that I would choose if I was presented the challenge. I would take it over a almost anything else short of a gun or a bow. Because I understand it's uses and benefits out in the wild. But it's pretty useless without wilderness survival knowledge in general. Just having a SAK or any other tool in a survival situation is pretty much useless without the knowledge of knowing what you need to do and the proper order of your priorities . Shelter, water, food, fire. Skipping shelter to go find food first would leave you vulnerable to hypothermia and dehydration both of which will kill you much faster than going hungry will. For instance. You could die from hypothermia within hours of exposure to cold temperatures without shelter. And you could only make it for around three days without a clean source of water to drink. Whereas you can live up to a week or so without food. But I do enjoy seeing more "Practical" uses for the SAK out in the wild. But all the unesessary things you can do with it that can be done simpler, faster and expend less energy accomplishing. Are going to overcomplicate it and make it daunting for the novice outdoorsman in a possibility dangerous situation.
The knife is beautiful... But... So many useless steps to change blades... All of the above steps can be performed with an ordinary small knife for peeling vegetables. Alas, but marketing is marketing
I like this video thank you for sharing it to view and i wish your channel more successful

Hot tip : NEVER use the small blade for prying sap, it's too easy to snap. Always use the can opener tool !

@@greekveteran2715 The edge of the can opener is quite fine and much better for levering than a high carbon blade.
The tip at 1:00 Hope you packed some band-aids... Just in case!

A penicl sharpener makes good arrow tips, plus it keeps the shavings in one place for you to use for tinder.
And you can keep your coloured pencils sharp for colouring in.
I'm amazed by the knife and more amazed by what he does with it.

Here's another hot tip: always wear leather, kevlar, or mechanics gloves when working with aluminum cans. Trust me.
Si, escuche que los guantes militares son muy buenos ora hacer este tipo de cosas
all ill say is ouch lol .. i feel you
These are great survival skills. I have a multi tool knife from Lowes but the Swiss knife is definitely the King survival tool.
Do you think I should get a Ranger or a little bigger Handyman?
Bravo!!
Excellent Video!! 😊😊
nice video
I use to think the Huntsmen was king in the woods, but I recently gave the Ranger that designation.
The next king will be the Handyman. 😄
@@MSkachenite You're not wrong - the pliers for wire snares.

Yes. The huntsman is one of my favorites. It has done many similar projects.

The Huntsman is "smaller" version, as Ranger. The Handyman is a little "biger" as Ranger.
I thought you were about to slice your finger when you were cutting downwards on the can with the can opener
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ranger is a great tool
good video. thanks
Qual modelo victorinox?
душевно, спасибо :)
Bro, you risked your fingers in the first 5 seconds of the video itself .. 😂
I was thinking the same thing 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Why does every Swiss army knife need a cork screw? Are the Swiss that attached to alcohol?
Agreed! A Phillips head screwdriver is more useful IMO. The Hiker has a useful combination of tools for my purposes, without being insanely large.
Other uses are that it acts as a holder for the mini screwdriver or the mini firesteel and it can be used to open tight knots.
I take the corkscrew over the Philips every time I can carry a fire start , glasses screw drive every money inside and it's good for opening and a few other things where the screwdriver is ok for one type of screw I take a bit kit instead
McGuiver con esa navaja te construye una nave espacial o una bomba atómica.
My Sak was useful in H.S. when you forgot your bowl but had an empty soda can
1:58 good way to damage your knife from resin.. its is rough to clean it off.. better to use some sharpened twig
what type of wood did you use for the bow and arrow great job on the video

Where do you find a can out in the wilderness?
Humans will leave trash everywhere. You will find it.
Some novel ideas!
The opening example is strange.
Making a fire on top of an old very dried-out table? hmmmm
Pro tip: don't put a magnet unded the bottle or can openers. Just stick it on the keyring.
WOW!!!😊❤😊❤
Which model SAK ?
Some of these are rehashed from Felix Immler. He always gives credit when he gets an idea from someone else.
Is this multi-tool handyman?
from Japanese
This is the Ranger.
The Handyman has pliers.
