Marlinspike and shackle opener make more sense on a smaller dedicated boat knife like the Skipper or (discontinued) Helmsman. Or Boatsman, which is a larger tool, but built with boating in mind.

The Workchamp XL is designed for collectors and not necessarily for a practical use case. The XL has every production implement from the 111mm range in it which is why you have things like the cap lifter and the can opener but also the combination tool. I would also be noted that post 2017 production year both of these models (an the entire 111mm rage) have liner locks instead of the slide lock in addition to some smaller changes.

4:21 I think they put the blade all the way to the right because it would be closer to your index (righties) or thumb (lefties), giving you a sense of more control. But that is just my theory... a kife theory!
